Ling Wu paused her crying and stared at Gu Yaxi, dumbfounded.
She then glanced at Gu Nanyu before averted her gaze to Ling Xiuqi.

Staring at Gu Nanyu, Gu Yaxi was expecting her to get all anxious and explain to Ling Xiuqi after encountering such an incident.

The surrounding crowd was gawking at her as if they were waiting for an explanation.
Then, Ling Wu’s mother who had noticed the incident ran to them hastily.
She almost lost her soul out of shock when she saw the injury on Ling Wu’s forehead and her face which was drenched in blood.
“Little Wu, what happened?” Madam Ling’s voice was trembling as she was terrified by Ling Wu’s wounds.
Before Ling Wu was able to speak, Gu Yaxi who was standing at the side spoke,
“Auntie, I apologize, this is our family’s fault. My cousin, Gu Nanyu tripped Little Wu over. Also, he has some...inexplicable feelings toward Brother Xiuqi…”

Gu Yaxi uttered in shame as if there was no place for her to hide her embarrassment.
Madam Ling’s initial rage slowly turned into astonishment upon hearing her words.
Gu Yaxi’s words had overturned her world views!

Looking at Ling Xiuqi who was standing in front of her to defend her, Gu Nanyu lifted the corners of her mouth.
This unrequited love is totally worth it!
Even though he was still a young adult, he possessed every quality he should have.
Gu Nanyu stretched out his legs and said indifferently.
“Aunt Ling, I have never moved since Little Wu’s fall. Look carefully, do you notice anything strange?”
Madam Ling was in the midst of fury and could not speak to her calmly.
Ling Xiuqi frowned.
He quickly intervened right before Madam Ling lost her temper.
“Mother, look, this is where Little Wu fell. If Nanyu wanted to trip her, he would have to stretch his legs out like what he is doing right now and he would have to make some big movement if so. However, I had been sitting opposite him and I did not see him move around. This proves that Gu Nanyu was not the one who tripped Little Wu.”
Gu Yaxi was starting to panic when she realized that Ling Xiuqi was doubting her words. The color drained from her face.
“Xiuqi, how could it be me? I was playing poker with you guys!” Feng Sihan immediately explained after she was pointed out.
