《Kingun》Mana Threads

"The answer to that is quite obvious really." Richard laughed.

"Every single being with the ability to use mana has a natural protection against invasion and leaking," He explained, " The core and meridians inside a living being are a closed system that does not allow one to just blast off mana at will as that would be dangerous to the body and could risk injuries and even death by reckless mana discharge,"

"As the knowledge about this supernatural energy grew, the numerous beings throughout the world developed several ways to be able to utilize their inner energy to interact with the world and affect it to their wills."

He then clapped his hands together and slowly separated them revealing think yellow-brown threads between them.

"An example of that is the use of mana threads," He continued, "By congealing minuscule amounts of mana on the tip of the meridians in my hands I can, by touching my hands together, connect that mana in them and after that connection is established I can then reinforce the threads formed by using more mana,"

"Thus giving these threads enough resilience to endure and interact with the world outside their natural space that is my body," he concluded.

"Of course, these threads can be formed by connecting with the elements and the world mana directly, but that stuff is a really high-level skill and takes enormous practice, so, for now, don't worry about it." he commented.

Ventus memorized the explanation and began his training again. First, he tried to form the mana threads according to Richard's explanation, it took him about two hours just to pull off making the initial connection, then it took him four more hours to be able to correctly enhance and stabilize said connection and correctly create the mana threads between his clasped hands.

It was only after a full eight hours of training that he slowly separated his hands and showed between them thin white, almost transparent mana threads. Richards gawked at the scene as he watched the results of his apprentice.

"You're nothing short of a monster at this time kid, it even makes an old man like me jealous of your talent." he laughed self-deprecatingly.

That comment made Ventus confused as he turned to look at him with an inquisitive look.

"What do you mean? why would a powerful grandmaster like you be jealous of me?"

"You basically pulled off in less than a day something I took a week to do when I first trained!" he said agitatedly "Many young magi would kill to have a comprehension and affinity like yours kid!"

"Oh, so I'm that good huh?" Ventus grinned smugly.

"Don't get cocky kid, you just took your first step in the long road of magi arts," He warned, "You still have a long way before you can actually call yourself accomplished at something and have some pride in your abilities and achievements."

"Okay okay old man," he grumbled, "can't even let me enjoy some small success."

At that time Ventus felt waves of exhaustion wash over him as he gradually felt himself get sleepy. Due to the minimized consumption of mana and the close to no physical effort, he managed to train for a full 14 hours straight. Now not only was he extremely tired but also bore a great hunger within him, the sign of that was the loud growl from his stomach demanding a decent meal.

Richard heard that and chuckled. He then fetched from the pouch on his waist several things that absolutely couldn't fit that small sized sack, he took out wood to make fire, perfectly preserved beast meat and even some jugs filled with fruit juice and wine so that they could drink with their meal.

Ventus was shocked at how he produced all of that basically from thin air in his perspective and immediately inquired about it.

"This?" Richard replied, "This is a spatial storage pouch or just space pouch for short."

"It's a very convenient way of taking huge amounts of things anywhere with little to no effort," he explained, "Inside this exist a pseudo dimension that can store any non-living material inside and keep it preserved for about one hundred years."

"And this isn't even such a high quality one," he continued, " There are various models that can contain even larger quantities and preserve for even more time, such as the expensive space belt, the rare space ring, and the extremely scarce space gem,"

"The last one is something so rare that even with rivers of money you may not be able to buy one as it is just too precious." he concluded.

After that, they proceeded to light up the fire and have a nice meal under the stars while joyfully chatting and drinking. After that, they slept for the whole night and woke up as soon as the first rays of sunlight crossed the sky.

For the next 20 days, they repeated this process. After waking Ventus would train for about 10 to 14 hours and after that, they would eat and sleep. In that time Ventus managed to successfully perceive the world's pulse on his own and communicate with the earth thus allowing for him to begin his practice in the technique Richard imparted to him.

In that period he trained with the stone clones of Richard to enhance his combat capabilities and to more thoroughly infuse the Terra Control technique into his combat style and proficiently use it to fight.

On the morning of the twenty-first day of their training, Richard dismantled the arena and restored the place into its original geography.

"All right kid, you've done some great progress in there past weeks," he smiled, "Now its time to put all that work to the test!"

He grabbed Ventus's shoulder whilst summoning the transport bubble. Ventus was calm and had changed his white clothing into a dark blue one similar to his master, as well as wearing shoes this time.

"We're off to the trials!" He laughed as they blasted away in the sky.
