《Twisted King》4: The strong.

Barba's eyes didn't even widen as I threw my spear at him, he deflected it with ease and ran towards me at a speed none of the previous orcs had managed.
I tried to maintain my composure as he came close, barely dodging his bullet like spear thrust and landing a single touch against his armour.
My one and only chance to balance the fight came as I used my anti healing ability on Barba's stomach, removing a huge section from his torso and leaving him and pain and shock.
I used his temporary confusion to move my hand towards his head but as he quickly recovered I settled on his shoulder, removing his main spear arm by removing the shoulder that connected it.
Barba jumped back once recovered, holding his two handed spear with his off hand.
He was weakened enough for me to pressure in a one vs one but the healing required close contact to be as effective as it needed to be at a low level.
Barba got close, even with one arm his uninjured legs allowed him to get within thrusting range.
The problem for him was that his weapon was unsuitable for such a way of fighting, I managed to grab his throat as his awkward thrust disturbed his balance and missed me entirely.
"Don't resist, it'll only take longer."
Barba seemed extremely furious, but with knowledge of my dangerous touch he tried to stay silent and cooperative until others could arrive to save him.
Unfortunately for him, I used my anti healing on his spine. Barba died almost instantly.
As his corpse slumped to the ground, I put my hand on his head and used the magical power deep within me to activate my new class specific ability.
From his corpse, a spirit rose cloaked in midnight black shadow.

Barba stumbled around and seemed to lack both strength and intellect as a spirit, but I didn't expect it to go well the first time.
But Barba being just a guard meant that stronger orcs were certainly nearby.
"Dispell shade, Barba."
The shadowy creature faded away into the air, leaving no trace of itself as our fight drew a weaker orc towards me.
My fight against Barba confirmed that my cheap way of fighting worked so long as I could get a hit in, against a weaker orc I was unbeatable.
The orc got to around a a meter away before my arm reached it and it was blown into nothing, shocked human slaves looking on.
The XP had piled on from killing Barba, but stockpiling it further than that was pointless.
You either levelled up in a day or you didn't at all, I was confused with such a system.
Level 8 brought me more strength than previously and I was grateful, but growing further would be rather tedious without facing overwhelming opponents.
I decided to start investing my points, focusing on magic stats which would leave me with to grind the weaker orcs.

The human slaves nearby were staring at me with admiration and slight fear, seeing how I dealt with two orcs seemed to reassure them.
"Do any of you know the way out?"
My question was met with silence, before an older man stepped forward.
"I can guide you, I ask only that you leave us be."

The idea of willingly slaving away in mines seemed insane to me, but the fact that no one seemed to disagree with his plan to stay actually reassured me a bit.
"You guys won't leave as long as there are still strong Orcs here right?"
The old man seemed sad, realising I intended to fight my way further down.
"That is the case."
The information satisfied me, I would only have to kill all the orcs to free the humans from the mine. I assumed it would only get easier the higher level I became.
The humans began mining again as I moved back down towards the orcs.
There were no orcs nearby below level 10, so technically they were all stronger than me.
For some reason, even as I stumbled into a room filled to the brim with sweaty green rage machines I felt no fear.
"Ten of you... from your size I assume you're all level 12? That 800 XP will be mine you trash mob fucks."
The orcs weren't interested in my words as they got close and grabbed me, but that left the ones who tried that in a dangerous position.
In front of six remaining orcs, their brethren burst into nothing in a violent crimson explosion.
"Four down. Wonder if the system will hold off on notifying me till you're all dead?"
The orcs were cautious as I ran toward them, using their confusion to burst five more.
In an instant from his perspective, he had gone from absolute victory to a guaranteed death.
The last thing the orc saw was my hand touch his chest as he died.
Reaching level 10 finally felt amazing, the only issue was that fighting that whole group had left my magic on empty and the noise was almost certainly going to attract orcs.
Luckily, the fact that there were no corpses would allow me to hide with less suspicion.
I climbed into an empty basket and waited as orcs rushed in but mostly ignored the room, soon leaving to find the area where the fighting occured.
The small break left me with a chance to recover and focus my mind, I didn't even want to interrupt my concentration by checking my stats until I left the basket almost an hour later.

My body felt like it was in great condition and my magic was mostly full, finally giving me an opportunity to check my status once again.

Jokes On You
ON INDEFINITE HIATUS-> It's DEAD, Jim. Dropped. Not trying this anymore. Sorry. Our story revolves around a man stuck perpetually in black and blue humor. He also gets his ass kicked around until he's black and blue. However, he must deal with his earthly and unearthly problems in the same way. He must survive. Even if he's a shell of his former self. This storyline originates in Tekton history and builds around the Main Character, who narrates. He is reluctant with the standards of the Otherworldly as his situation can be humorous at the expense of our Narrator. Do not expect to be pleased, but somewhat entertained. *Profanity Warning* Cover is not made by me nor mine.
