《Twisted King》2: Sacrifice.

Naturally the second the huge number of watchful eyes left, the facade of politeness dropped and we were sent without a word to absolutely awful accommodations.
My bed was some sort of large carved rock with magic placed on it to soften it, though the magic seemed useful the effort put in was clearly lacking.
I was placed in a room with four others from E class.
The rest discussed their situation frantically whilst I sat on my bed, investigating my status menu in more detail to determine anything of interest.
Name: Rem Gallant Lvl: 0 Race: God Class: Healer--> High Healer(lvl.20) , ??? Class skills: Heal Skills: None Unique Skills: None Blessings: None Titles: Heir of Light, Heir of dark, Shadow lord, Light prince Str: 1 Dex: 1 Vit: 1 Int: 1 Res: 1 Men: 1 Wis: 1
I tried to determine something, I checked my status menu for some sort of class rank up.
The next rank up from healer was not priest but "High healer".
This perplexed me a bit as no one had mentioned such a role, the idea occured to me that even the hero profession was just the beginning rank of a path of advancement to greater heights that weren't necessarily interconnected.
"He adjusts quick, or is he just in shock?"
"He's a bit of an oddball, but him being calm helps ease my mind at least a little."
I could hear the others discussing me but didn't particularly care, I knew that the following day the results that they had time to analyse would lead them to killing the bottom half of E class and doing horrible torturous things with the rest.
I layed down and attempted to sleep, naturally such a thing was incredibly difficult and led to me spending hours laying still and attempting to focus on not focusing at all.
At some point I assumed I fell asleep because I was woken up by the sound of knights marching into our room and grabbing all five of us, dragging us to the same large room that seemed even more intimidating without being full of students.
"These are the last of the trash yes? Prepare the carriage to somewhere hard to survive, make their deaths quick at least if you can't sell them for a lot. Infact just dump them outside the city, we have enough monsters to deal with them quietly."

His disinterest in condemning us to death and slavery seemed to push the others to the edge of attacking him, but I was the one to take the focus away from the rest of the group.
"Oi. You shitty old fucker, what kind of dogshit ruler are you? Killing kids is pretty fucked up you twisted bastard."
I tried my best to speak like an asshole, I wanted to show the others not to fight against the king. He would undoubtedly react and punish me worse than the rest.
"Have this one sent to somewhere even I wouldn't survive in his place. His death shouldn't be slow though, I still in a way respect that sort of reckless stupidity."
The shocked and horrified reaction of the others signalled that I had proven what would happen, the difference in my tone that at least a few of them found suspicious clued them in that I was trying to warn them not to follow my example.
If I could use my life to spare others, then I would be satisfied.
"So the miserable old fucker is a sadist? You must love summoning heroes to do your dirty work whilst you sit in that chair built on corruption."
I could see them watching from behind the throne, the S tier heroes.
Naturally, Nina ran towards me and harshly kicked my stomach.
"I'm sorry for my classmates disrespect your highness."
She looked at me with ecstatic eyes, hoping she would finally drive me to my death.
Knights dragged me over to be warped somewhere, the others calming down after seeing my display.
In reality, I fancied my chances of avoiding danger after years of avoiding hyper aggressive bullies.
I didn't care where I ended up, I just wanted revenge on the king and Nina and anyone who supported them.
I couldn't let my determination to live show, and I couldn't let the others die by being thrown into the same place I was going.
After teleporting, my stomach was extremely hot.
I was a healer, so I figured that trying healing magic was a given.
"HEAL!!!"
My bruised stomach seemed to become a little better as a dim green light flew into my stomach, my confidence in my chances didn't waiver particularly after I realised I was in a cave.
I looked around and saw walls in three directions and an opening in the other, so I moved cautiously towards the opening to investigate.

This seemed to be enough to aggravate something, as I felt myself being pushed off of my feet as the warm and painful feeling of my body being speared through hit me like a truck.
"Huuuuman... in one hit... weak... Zorgo strongest... orc strongest..."
I felt a spear stuck in my body, and it hurt like hell.
My body felt like it was on fire and the adrenaline caused by the pain caused my heart to race.
A large green hand grabbed my face before I could even glare and threw me away, I fell for no more than five seconds but my landing caused my pain to intensify further as I broke something.
"ZORGO STROOOOONG! KILL HUMAN!"
The creature that had put me in such a state wandered off like an idiot, leaving me to die after only a few minutes of arriving.
My anger swelled, I had tried to stay rational.
I had tried to struggle against the urge to kill.
However I began to realise the king who would gleefully throw me into such a place was not a person worthy of my restraint, my mind was filled with regret for not having attacked him sooner.
Then, a voice whispered into my ear.
The voice was twisted, extremely happy but undoubtedly quite evil.
"You've been dropped into an absurd situation despite you not harming anyone, you've been betrayed and hurt quite a bit. I am the trickster god Twistar."
My brain was processing what the voice was saying, partially to distract me from the agony in my body.
"I'll give you my gift if you can beat Zorgo over there, he's the weakest creature in this place so even a puny human like you can do it if you're smart.
You want revenge right?
Otherwise I wouldn't appear for you."
The chance for revenge made me excited, my body churned with anger as I pulled the spear out of my stomach and shouted.
"HEAL!!!"
Zorgo turned towards me, intimidated by the fact that I hadn't yet died.
I charged towards him recklessly and recieved a punch that near enough broke my ribs, but I poked Zorgo's eye with my spear in revenge and held my stomach.
"HEAL!!!"
Zorgo didn't care much for my pointy present, he ran towards me like a mad beast.
He tackled me hard enough to shatter most of the bones in my body.
Though I couldn't imagine him knowing what it meant, I felt inclined to flip him off.
"HEAL!"
I rose to my feet, pain relieved by my healing ability.
"You big green fuck, I think it's time you lost another eye."
Zorgo ran towards me once again, but it was clear that losing an eye was messing with his depth perception.
He swiped towards me uselessly and recieved a spear thrust to the matching eye.
Zorgo stumbled around, an orc with no eyes but still strong enough to beat me if I didn't use all my concentration to stab him in the squishiest spots.
His blind charge in my vague direction left him on his front swiping blindly, I only had to stand to the left of his head and use all my body weight to thrust into his throat.
"Thanks, I ate both the experience and the body of his as my fee for providing this gift. You won't regret it. Your revenge can begin now."
The voice faded away, leaving me only with silence and with Zorgo's spear.
Putting it bluntly, it was a barely shapened piece of metal stuck to a wooden rod with some rope.
Not a great weapon, and my role as healer meant fighting would be hard anyway.
I assumed that whoever gave me a gift would have left details in my status, so I checked it.
Name: Rem Gallant Lvl: 0 Race: God Class: Healer, ??? Class skills: Heal Skills: None Unique Skills: Role Reversal (Reverses the properties of things, both your own body and magic and the body and magic of others. Will not work on others if they are vastly physically or magically superior.) Blessings: Twistars Blessing Titles: Heir of Light, Heir of dark, Shadow lord, Light prince Str: 1 Dex: 1 Vit: 1 Int: 1 Res: 1 Men: 1 Wis: 1
Reading the description, I was astonished.
The ability not affecting other people unless my magic value was higher was the only draw back, and I had thought of applying it in a different way to overcome that flaw already.
I needed a test subject, but Zorgo being the weakest monster in the cave was slightly worrying.

Path of Divinity
The world has been assimilated by the Celestial Archives, a vast system designed to fight the forces that seek to destroy the universe. For most, it's a holy cause that rewards victory with stats, levels, and skills. For Hunter Gold, it's the start of a nightmare. Even in a system dominated by paths, he finds himself taking the road less traveled. This is a work in progress. Major editing will be done after the book is complete, so there will be egregious typos and parts that make no sense whatsoever. Please feel free to point any and all of these things out. Chapters WILL get edited, and that editing might break earlier chapters. I will attempt to keep readers apprised of all changes. As always, feedback is welcome and appreciated. This is kind of something fun I wanted to write after reading stories like The New World, System Apocalypse, and the Legend of Randidly Ghosthound. I don't know how serious I will be about this story, but I just want to try it out. I imagine that it will become a love child between Fable, Diablo, and Devil May Cry. Enjoy!
