《Smoking Bandits》SB5.2 - Smoking Bandits

Lark didn't know how people would react if they knew he came from earth, received Dragon Crystal upon his arrival, and could transform into a Lizardman. Therefore, he needs a rabbit hole to anticipate the worst scenario.
He will also use the rabbit hole as a base for adventure to Expedition Radius. That's why the location he chose was Triple Waterfall. A place where both Hostile Race and hunters from Pinetown couldn't move freely around it.
As soon as he arrived at Triple Waterfall, Lark immediately dug a cave on the east side cliff of Triple Waterfall. The entrance tunnel to the cave is 6 meters from the water surface or 6 meters from the top of the cliff. It's 2 meters high by 50 cm wide, and zigzags 15 meters long.
With dense vines covering the entire cliff wall, the entrance tunnel will be hidden from sight.
The inside of the cave has an area of 90x50 meters, with a ceiling height of 4 meters. Lark also made a creek from Triple Waterfall to an 8x4x1.5 pool in the corner of the cave, with an exit tunnel that ends just below Triple Waterfall.
To ensure that the inside of the cave is room temperature, Lark made dozens of 20x20 cm ventilation in the east wall of the cave and reduced the vine's thickness covering them. That way, a glimmer of sunlight can enter the cave every morning.
When in Lizardman form, Lark could easily dig through the ground. Even so, it took three whole days to complete the rabbit hole which he named Bandit Lair.
And on the fourth to the sixth day, Lark spent his time making a stone hearth, bamboo beds, bamboo tables, bamboo bench, and bamboo shelves.
Then, he began to hunt Orcs.
- - - - -
On the eighth day at Bandit's Lair, the sun was just setting down while 21 Orcs sat in a corner, looking at Fierce Beasts in human clothing who caught them, with a gaze full of horror.
The Orcs had sat in Bandit's' Lair for 2-18 hours, depending on the time they were captured, and they were neither treated nor fed.
Even so, not a single Orcs escaped when Lark wasn't in Bandit's Lair. They realized that with their heavy wounded body, their captor could easily track and kill them even if they ran away simultaneously.

In total, Lark actually managed to ambush 56 Orcs. But he only brought home the Orcs he deemed worthy of selection ritual, and killed the rest.
After lighting a fire on the stone hearth and hanging four deer's legs and two wildebeest's hind legs above it, Lark went over to his captives.
"I only need seven Orcs and you will decide it by yourself."
Lark then placed a Kabar combat knife five meters in front of the Orcs and pointed at three Orcs at random.
"Only one of you can live."
Two Orcs that Lark had pointed to immediately ran towards the Kabar combat knife, and grappled for it. While the third Orc with a smaller stature, walked over to the cave wall and picked up two stones as big as a fist. Then, casually he looked at the two Orcs who were fighting over the Kabar combat knife.
The struggle for the Kabar combat knife was intense. But in the end, one of the Orcs managed to stab the Kabar combat knife into his opponent's heart. With a wide grin, he then turned his head towards the Orc with a smaller stature, and without warning a rock as big as a fist hit his face so damn hard.
The unfortunate Orc fell down and was unconscious. Then, the second stone crushed his skull and led him to the afterlife.
Clap, clap, clap, clap!
Clapping his hands, Lark approached the Orc who passed the selection ritual. His height is only 177 cm, or 8 cm shorter than the average Orc. His body was also not muscular.
Moreover, he was the first Orc to arrive at Bandit's Lair and Lark liked his way of thinking to overcome the odds.
"Very good, from now on your name is Smoll."
A moment later Lark has tied Smoll using Bloodslave and modified his body and soul.
"Smoll, you can have dinner first while watching the selection ritual."
"Sir."
Without wasting time, Smoll approached the stone hearth and enjoyed the roasted meat.

Within two hours the selection ritual was over. After collecting the failed Orcs' ears, Lark then threw their bodies into the pool below Triple Waterfall, and let them drift away by the strong current.

Meanwhile, the Orcs who passed the selection ritual were having dinner heartily. Orcs instinctively will follow a strong figure. So Bloodslave works very effectively for them.
After dinner, the Orcs cheerfully enjoyed Kuba, and that gave Lark inspiration regarding the name of the unit he would form.
Lark stood up and said, "I will give a short brief, so just at ease."
"""Sir."""
"Our unit will be called Smoking Bandits. The team's distribution and basic roles will be Hunter One, Harold as gunner, Guff as grenadier, Homer as pointman. Your team leader is Stanic and he also takes the role as a marksman."
"""Sir."""
Hunter One members answered in unison and Lark immediately continued.
"The second team will be Hitman Two, led by Smoll who also takes the role as grenadier, with Horton as gunner, Dumie as marksman, and Harvei as pointman."
"""Sir."""
Hitman Two members answered in unison and Lark smiled with satisfaction. Then, he explained Smoking Bandits' first mission.
"I'm planning an adventure to Expedition Radius. For that, there are two pre-missions that we have to do. First, fully understand the terrain conditions on the Hunting Radius and Skirmish Radius. For this, I will take Hunter One to do a field survey."
"Second, cleaning the Hostile Race's nests in the Hunting Radius and Skirmish Radius. So that on our way home we will not get unpleasant surprises. This pre-mission will be carried out by Hitman Two.
"The area and duration of the two pre-missions are one week starting from the northeast to the south. Finished or not, in one week we will stop for rest and evaluation. For temporary Hitman Two will stay in Bandits Lair. While Hunter One will follow me to Pinetown."
Lark looked at Smoking Bandits' personnel one by one, then calmly asked, "Understood?"
"""Sir, yes Sir!""" calmly but firmly the Smoking Bandits' personnel answered.
A moment later, the distribution of weapons and equipment began. All Smoking Bandits' personnel received the same package for combat dress and equipment. As for weapons, the configuration is:
Marksman: M14, MP9SD, Kabar combat knife, 6 extra magazines for each weapon.
Grenadier: AK-102, GP-36, Glock 19, Kabar combat knife, 10 extra magazines for each weapon, ammo-belt for GP-36 under-barrel grenade launcher.
Gunner: Ultimax 100, Glock 19, Kabar combat knife, 4 extra magazines for each weapon.
Pointman: AK-102SD, MP9SD, Kabar combat knife, 6 extra magazines for each weapon.
After cleaning themselves, Smoking Bandits' personnel immediately put on their equipment and weapons. Lark then ordered Hitman Two to be on night watch. While he and Hunter One went to sleep.
- - - - -
One hour before sunrise, right after breakfast, Lark moved all the canned food in the Wrist Pocket to the bamboo shelves, along with three boxes of Kuba. He also piles up 56 crates of ammunition in one of corner within reach of morning sunlight, and only keeps one crate per caliber in the Wrist Pocket.
As for weapons in an emergency, he left the G3 and Sig Sauer P226 looted from Terre and his colleagues, along with 2 M14, 2 AK-102, and 4 Glock 19.
He also placed saws, axes, machetes, hammers, and a few other tools on one of the racks. In anticipation if Smoking Bandit's personnel want to make additional furniture. For other items and supplies, he would add them gradually.
Hitman Two will carry out their mission in silence at night. So during the day they will sleep. Meanwhile, Lark and Hunter One will carry out their mission during the day. So they left immediately.
Lark looked at Smoll and Hitman Two's personnel before saying, "Avoid contact with hunters from Pinetown. But if your life is at risk, don't hesitate to act."
"""Sir."""
Lark smiled with satisfaction. Meanwhile, Harold came out of Bandits Lair entrance and climbed to the top of the cliff. After the situation was confirmed safe, Lark and the two Hunter One personnel followed Harold.
Not long after that, a human and three Orcs trotted towards the tree line and disappeared.
