“I have never tried creating anything human; but it is not something that is beyond my power to do.”

“First and foremost, I have always seen her as the leader of all yokai than as my mother because she is always on one journey or another, visiting different clans, attending meetings and doing other things that is expected of the position. Thereby, leaving me to attend to the welfare of my brother and sisters whenever she was away; which is always most of the time.”

“Now I understand why. Do you hate her for leaving you to take care of them while she was away?” “I do not hate her since she was merely fulfilling her duties as leader; but there were times I would have wished she were there to watch our growth and train us to become stronger. Right now, I do not know if I am strong or wise enough to take the position as leader of the yokai.”

“Believe in yourself, just as I believe in you. I’m sure you’ll make a great yokai leader.”

Feeling moved by the words he heard from Miyako, deep within, he hoped that her belief in him would not be destroyed. Now he had a new task; which was to live up to the way she saw him. With that, came a sense of happiness which caused a smile to appear on his face.
