《Ordinary Transmigration》Chapter 5: A hollow victory.

Waking up, the first thing that Tiffany did was looking for her mana bullets. They were standing in a neat line on her desk right where she left them the night before.
Her talent was real. She could permanently create objects. This was something she had to hide no matter what. Due to her accident, everyone forgot that she was awakening two SSS skills. She was only remembered as the cripple.
This was for the best. As they say the tallest tree in the forest gets hammered down.
Staying low key was going to be her motto from now on.
She quickly had dinner and told her parents that she was going to see a place concerning her future.
Her parents knew she was being nonspecific on purpose and choose to play along with her. She was never involved with the bad crowd in the past and they trusted her to a certain extent.
They only let her go when she promised to be back by eight pm latest.
She quickly got onto the taxi that was waiting for her and drove to the nearest shooting range.
Arriving at the range, she got to the counter and borrowed a gun that needed .9mm bullets. She had no idea what the gun was called.
She did stick out as a sore thumb as she was the only pretty girl amongst the rest of the male customers.
Seeing that she was struggling with fitting the bullets into the magazine, a kind older gentleman did it for her and gave the loaded gun back.
It turned out that his name was Rick, and he was the owner of the shooting range. He spent some time with her explaining her the rules and what she needed to be cautious of while being there. This was more for the safety of others rather than hers.
Tiffany, was ready to see if her idea was workable.
A dull metallic clank resounded from Tiffany’s gun. She could see the bullet come out from the end of her gun and land about ten meters away from her. This was definitely not the result she was going for.
Rick laughed out loud when he saw the confusion on Tiffany’s face.
“Girl come here. I’ll tell you what happened”. Shouted Rick in order to be head over the sounds of firing guns and other weapons.
“I am sorry to say but I think the bullets you are using are defective. There are no gunpowder or no primer in your cartridge.”
“Gunpowder, primer… cartridge?” Tiffany said while looking completely confused.
“Can you show me the bullets you are using?”
“Sure.” Not knowing how to take the magazine out she simply handed the gun back to him.

“God. What is this? You know girl, how to say this… You got scammed. See this is simply a shell made to look like a bullet. It looks good but there is nothing in it”. Explained Rick while holding the bullet.
Tiffany ears were getting redder and warmer by the seconds.
“Yeah, yeah, I got it. I am not an expert on bullet but if I start talking to you about makeup, foundation, mascara and rouge, I am sure you would also look like an idiot.” Tiffany really wanted to say this but she couldn’t bite the hand that feed her, right?
Rick carried on with his explanation about what a bullet is made of. He suddenly stopped and gave an awkward laugh when he caught the fact he was over enthusiastic and realised that the little girl couldn’t care less about this.
Seeing that he was acting like a kid who just got caught red handed with his hand in the cookie jar, Tiffany genuinely laugh. This was a relief to see that not everyone was simply driven by profit. Her parents were simple folks who would love her whatever she decide her future is. Same for this range owner, you could see that he simply opened the range for the love of firearms.
Tiffany’s mentality shifted again. She was no longer driven by the glory and the riches of being the strongest in this world. She would simply give her all and see what she can achieve to the best of her abilities.
Maybe this viewpoint will change again but for now she was happy with this. She simply needed to focus on her next goal. To enrol in the in the university of her choice.
Tiffany decided to explained the story behind her bullets and that was the result she got with her skill.
Seeing that she would not get anywhere today with her bullets she decided to go back home and study up on her skill.
Rick “kindly” gave her his number and told her to give him a call if she needed any help with bullets or firearms in general with the hope of making her a firearms fanatic. It was hard to refuse seeing the pure eagerness that was beaming out of his eyes.
The regular of the club were all familiar with the boss and his craziness that came with firearms and simply ignored the duo.
Going back home, Tiffany felt a sense of estrangement with the city she spent the last two years in. Her parents were still working and she had no one to call or meet.
She used to be quite arrogant in the past due to her eighth-grader syndrome and feeling she was the main character of this world resulting in flimsy relationship with other students.

She now just wanted to go somewhere new and get some new friends.
Slapping her face to wake up, she quickly went to her computer and started to look for more data in regards to her skill. Offensive Skill cannot be useless.
She finally found a thread from a famous professor.
— Professor Hyde: the below is my analysis and personal opinions on the Mana Creation skill.
The skill Mana Creation is often misunderstood in terms of how to use it. It is a skill that can be used in dungeons as well as in life with a lifestyle purpose.
For rank F to D, the added attribute to the item created will be different from person to person. They will have a set attribute added.
This means you can be lucky and have the added attribute to accentuate sexual pleasure then your services will be extremely appreciated in the brothel industry. Creating a candle or a simple pendant will be very easy to do and as it will disappear after a few hours, it create a continuous demand.
This is for the lucky one. No body would want a stone created with the attribute to change colours. This has been achieved as far back as two thousands years ago before the great cataclysm.
Now from rank C and above, the added attribute is always the same. It simply boost the item main functions. The percentage of the boost depends from the rank and the users stats.
To go into more details, If you create a shield, then it will be stronger. If you create a sword, it will pierce or slasher more efficiently.
You can sometime have a special effect created, for example, creating a war hammer can also come with the possibility of stunning the opponent for a certain amount of time. Technically, a hammer hitting your head can stun you so this fit in the criteria of the skill.
The boost for the weapon created is also influenced by the skill user. You could create a shield that reflects damages. This however could not be done with a sword. The inherent purpose of a sword is not to protect but to kill.
This is why Mana Creation skill users are appreciated in dungeons. If your team attacker’s weapon break then you can have a new one made on the spot. This is the reason they are needed.
Obviously, the example given above are for the most skilled rankers and a lot of mana is needed for this so don’t be scammed by taking in some unskilled and low level Mana Creators who can only make flimsy imitations.
Now come the technical stuff and the reason why Mana Creation is easy to use but hard to master.
The user need to know very intricately all the facets of what he is creating. This means if you want to create a hammer, you would need to know the material use for the hammer, how it fits together and visualised all this perfectly. Otherwise will only get a hollow shell of the item. A simple imitation that can only be used for decoration and most importantly dissipate in the next few seconds due to being a failed sill use.
Mana Creators as they like to be called, only focus on one subject to become expert at it. Geniuses will be able to be expert in multiple fields.
It is very easy to see if you are using a mana created item. A successful mana created item will radiate with a very faint blue light. This is simply the colour of pure mana.
So don’t make the mistake of thinking that you found a magic sword if you see one on sale and it is slightly glowing blue. If you buy it you might not find it when the time comes to fight the dungeon’s boss.
Now, is Ash Lambert, the holder of the SSS Mana Creation skill, a genius?
He is not, the skill helps him to create what he imagines. He is the only exception. Don’t worry, there is only one of him.
I hope this has been helpful to you all.

— Blue fish: thanks prof. You were amazing as always.
— God is my mother: Prof, what about this?
Screen shot:
Name: ???
Stats: ???
Skill 1: Rank G - Mana Creation: you can create objects with your mana. Objects are restricted to 5x5x10 cm. Dissipate over time.
— Professor Hyde: Well this is very interesting. I am glad to see that the route to knowledge is always open and new datum can always be understood. However, no matter how erudite I am as a professor of skill analysis, the only advice I can say is:
Young man, skill is not what this world is all about. I am sure that you can find your own happiness in a different sphere of activity.
Professor Hyde, Zarcan University.
— Passerby 1: Translation for the normies. My friend, you are fucked!
— Passerby 2: rofl
Tiffany chuckled reading this. Professor Hyde was a very polite person compared to the rest of the trolls.
She had to admit she finally had a direction on how to improve and succeed with her skill.

A King in the Clouds
Tanlar. A cruel, repulsive, and foul word. It meant untitled, officially, but it also meant ungifted, unable, unworthy, unnecessary, unhuman. It was more a curse than a term, a badge only the damned and condemned wore. To be a tanlar was to know your life, your entire being, was insignificant. Once Kaizer had resigned himself to such a fate, but those times had passed. He may have been untitled, but he was anything but untalented. He refused to scrape by at the bottom of society. Those who stood above him could sneer all they liked, but he wouldn’t suffer being stepped on for long. He’d be better, much better. But of course he would be. ‘Fate’ demanded it so. [Participant in the Royal Road Writathon challenge] What To Expect: The story of a boy becoming a man becoming a king + everything that entails. Largely gamelit, but later arcs could be called litrpg. Also schemes. A lot of schemes. I do love some good ol' fantasy politics and intrigue. Minimum Word Count a Week: TBA after Writathon Release Time(s): Daily for as long as I can/until the end of the Writathon. I also write The Deathseeker [Returning Dec 5th]
