《Ordinary Transmigration》Chapter 4: Hope, confusion and maybe a tiny bit of luck.

Tiffany had her eyes closed. She knew she couldn’t stay like this forever and finally opened her eyes. Her status was finally displayed to its owner for the first time since her awakening.
Name: Tiffany Meyers
Race: Human (99.98%), Dragon (0.02%)
Stats:
Strength: 12
Agility: 13
Constitution: 11
Mind: 1.5
Mana: 15/15 (Mind x 10)
Skill 1: Rank G - Mana Creation: you can create objects with your mana. Objects are restricted to 5x5x10 cm. Dissipate over time.
Skill 2: Rank G - Body Refining (Eyes): your eyes will never deteriorate by themselves.
Tiffany was shocked by her low stats. She knew that 10 was the average on a civilian awakened. Some strong civilian could probably kick her ass.
Especially her mind stat. This should have been her strongest point being a transmigrator but due to her accident it was now so fragile. No wonder she felt exhausted after using her skill once.
She closed her status window after looking at it. She went back to browsing the hunter’s forums to see if she could find data on how to improve her mind stats.
After browsing for hours and not finding anything useful to improve her stats without paying exorbitant amount of money, she decided to look at general knowledge for newly awakened hunter.
What caught her attention was a thread about easy mistake made by new and inexperienced hunter.
“Awakening your talent is not automatic”. Confused by the thread title, Tiffany started to read.
Hope blossomed in her heart. The data was unbelievable. Every S Ranker or over had a talent. The system need to make sure it had the individual’s permission before it could release the talent from its sealed state. The reason for this was that your mind needed to be fully synced with your skill for the talent to be fully compatible.
She originally has SSS rank for her skills. What if her talent was still waiting to be awakened? What if this could help her change her life? What if…
Once those thoughts creeped into her mind they became an obsession. It was like the Devil’s whisper, so tempting but so dangerous.
She knew that if her thoughts were wrong she would not recover from it. Pacing back and forth, Tiffany was biting her nails debating if she should gamble one last time.
After a long self debate, the Devil won over the idea of staying ordinary but safe.
Taking a deep breath, she called to the system for what would decide her future, “Show me my talent”. Tiffany mentally ordered the system.

The one second delay seemed to stretched for an eternity.
The screen appeared in front of her eyes made her collapse. All her strength left her legs and she ended with her but landing on the soft carpet of the hotel.
Name: Tiffany Meyers
Talent: awaiting awakening. Do you authorise unsealing of talent? YES/NO
Tiffany started to breath again. She was so tense that she had forgotten to inhale air for a while.
After, staring in disbelief for the last 5 minutes, Tiffany mentally gave the okay for the awakening. Warm force started to surge from her pulsing heart, the feeling continued to grow until her entire body was filled with a strong vitality. Finally, it surged into her soul and Tiffany fell asleep on the soft carpet.
Waking up from the best sleep she had since the start of her depression, Tiffany looked up at her updated status.

This was the best talent she could ever want. She was not afraid of hard work. She was only afraid that she was not given the chance to even try.
Additionally, all her stats improved by five points. This was a massive relief. She could feel a lot more stable mentally. No wonder she had been crying at the drop of a hat.
The surprise weren’t stopping. A new screen came to life and seeing the content made her smile like the Cheshire Cat.

c) Random option.
“Jackpot!” thought Tiffany, when god closes a door on you, he will make sure to open another one for you.
She quickly choose option C and B for skill 1 and 2 respectively.
All the screens faded away and she waited as her status was updating.
Her new status gave her all the tools she needed to be successful. She only needed to figure out how to make it work.
Name: Tiffany Meyers

Stats:
Strength: 15
Agility: 18
Constitution: 16

Talent: Rank Unique - Unlimited Growth: you have no limitations to how much you can grow. Only you efforts will be rewarded. Your stats do not have a level cap. Under specific circumstances, your original skills can evolve.
Tiffany screamed in joy. She spent the next 10 minutes rolling on her bed while calling and dismissing her status window over and over. All the gloominess that has been plaguing her mind was completely gone.
She no longer minded her best friend betrayal. She could now see that the they both had different paths. Jennifer was a princess and would have the privileges but also the responsibilities that go with the title.
Tiffany on the other hand would have to work for her glory but at the same time she would be free to choose how to live her life. Compared to being a princess and forced into a arranged marriage was not her choice.
Well that was just pure jealousy speaking, the partner that was arranged by the Merelyth clan was a prince from the tiger clan. He was a royal beastman who could keep a perfect human appearance.
He had an aura that would attract everyone’s attention. This was common to all the scions and heiress of nobility. Ragnar Birsk was also a famous S ranker. He had been very successful during his university years. He was now twenty seven years old and he was one of the youngest team leader in the Infinity guild. One of the top guild from the capital.
Tiffany had previously looked for all the informations when she watched the news and saw that Jennifer was getting engaged as part of a political marriage. She was seen sporting a smile on her face. Anyone could see that she was very happy with her fiancé.
Tiffany enjoyed her last few days of vacation with a peace of mind. She didn’t think about her status or anything to do with being a hunter. She simply ate, drunk, swam in the ocean and enjoyed her evenings.
Three days went past in a flash and it was time for her to go back home and plan her future for the third time.
Her parents could see the changes in their daughter. They could tell she was no longer plagued by the loss of her SSS skills.
They had a pleasant dinner and Tiffany left for room. She immediately went onto her computer and started to look for a hunter university that would accept students regardless of their skill ranks.
After looking for an hour she finally found one: Origin Academy. They would administer a test and anyone who passed it would be accepted.
She immediately registered and once the confirmation that her application was approved she started to figure what she could to be able to use her skills in a dungeon.
“Night Vision” was very simple and needed no explanation. The only thing was that no one would die from looking into her eyes when she used her skill. Only a cocatrix, a Gorgon or a Medusa could kill using their eyes. Not Tiffany. Only high level monsters.
After browsing the web and forums related to mana weapon and skill, she found that the skill “Mana Bullet” could be replicated. Maybe she could create an actual bullet made of mana and use this with a gun. She was technically not using a hot weapon. Only the mechanical gun to shoot mana.
Thinking this was possible, Tiffany created ten .9mm bullets copying what she saw in Hollywood blockbusters back on Earth.
Each bullets were created using 6 units of mana.
Feeling satisfied with her plan she went to bed and decided to put her plan into action the next day. She had only two months left to ensure she could join the university.

The Adventures of Alan
What happens when a university professor somehow ends up in another world, where magic bends the laws of nature? Alan is, albeit unwillingly, about to find out. As a professor of physics, he has a decent understanding of how the world works, or so he likes to think. Armed only with his knowledge, Alan is thrown into a world very different from his own. In his new reality, he will meet both friends and foe, he will seek knowledge, he will build power, and perhaps he will even find love again? Follow Alan through his adventures, and find out for yourselves how he deals with the challenges thrown at him by a new world, while struggling with the issues brought with him from his old one. * Author’s note: A fair warning. This is the first time I’ve published anything, and basically the first time I’ve written anything more than mandatory school-stuff. The story will probably have inconsistencies, grammatical errors (not my native tongue, though that excuse is getting old), and potentially confusing (missing?) plot. I will naturally do my best to write something worth reading, but my main goal in writing this story is to have fun and explore the limits of my own creativity. My hope in publishing it here, is that I’ll reach someone who enjoy the story, and can push me forward towards writing more, as it is difficult at times to find the motivation to write just for myself. Additionally, I can’t really promise to have regular updates, as I have a full-time job that often likes to take the ‘full-time’ part literally, and a sporadic social life that occasionally surprises me (happy surprises mostly, so I shouldn’t complain). I’ll aim for once a week to start with, and take it from there. Happy reading! Cover photo by Jeff Hire (/photographer/gun4hire-58415), from https://freeimages.com/.

The Heroic Tales of Silas Horne
In the year 1858, the system came to the world. It brought with it beings from fantasy and mythology the likes of which the world had never seen before. In the American frontier, a place already known for being a dog eat dog world the system gave bandits the capacity for untold violence, not to mention monsters and system loving fanatics hell-bent on the murder of the innocent. But are they truly so innocent? No one knows what the system is or why it came, they do know one thing though. That the world post system isn't a place for a hero. Luckily for the world, U.S Marshall Silas Horne is no such man. ----- AN: This story is a litRPG inspired by "Randidly Ghosthound" and "The New World" but after reading many such stories and finding them to be a tad samey I decided to write this in a new setting, the Wild West. Also, my release schedule is chaotic, expect at least one 1000 word chapter each day but probably like two more will also be released.
