Chapter 7 - Conflicted Feelings
Maha was traveling again. Maha was alone again. It was something that Maha didn't realize until he lost his friend Aran.
“I shouldn't have told him about [Hero’s Strength]... No. He can still use that power, but I'm all that is gone. It doesn't make a difference. It was only one day, no not even. What sort of friendship could he have had with me in that short of time.” Rain started to fall. Maha's eyes began to blur.
Rain keeps falling around Maha, but Maha continues unhindered.
“If I had trained a special power, would Aran still remember me?” Perhaps I could have been adventuring alongside with Aran right now, causing mischief and mayhem too. Anything.
Under the rain fall, Maha gathered his resolve and decided that he would train his combat ability. His current body was like that of a human, so he would be able to train everything a human can use to train.
An uncomfortable feeling gathered in his stomach. It traveled through his body, the went through his fingertips. A glowing white light appeared in Maha’s palm. The orb takes whatever form that Maha will it to make.
He formed the first bird he saw. It became that bird. The bird flew around. It was an exact replica of the bird. The bird too had been forgotten by its comrades.
Maha looked at it and said “let's be best friends! I won't forget you and you won't forget me!”
The bird tilted its head sideways before fizzing into nothingness. The bird was gone again.
Taking this as a sign that he wasn't meant to have friends, Maha continued trailing the master disciple duo.
Conflicted feeling arose from within as Maha debated whether he should even go meet up with those two. In the end, Maha still wanted to thank them before trying to find his creator. His clue was the Burger kingdom.
Upon straightening out his conflicted feelings, Maha sped up to catch up with the master and disciple duo.

Summon Imp!
Travel with a newly born demon as he grows and learns in his own world as well as in other worlds as he gets summoned again and again. Usually to die or kill for others in strange and exciting places, but it's never certain what the next one will bring. It has its perks. With each new world comes a new story with new experiences and new lessons. There is always more to see, more to learn and more to know. Maybe, someday, it will all make sense. For now he will just work hard to become stronger, to be useful and, hopefully, survive that way. A coming-of-age story, but different. Things start to slow down to a crawl. Colors blur into one another until my vision is completely white. All I can think is "Shit, not this again!" I hate being summoned. _________________________________ updates once a week until I get more time The idea for this story began in two places. One was the ridiculously rapid pace of gaining power in many novels. Both in games and in novels, I enjoy the struggle of the beginning character, why always the rush? The other was the way many monster or non-human MCs always seem to hurry to become human (again). It always felt like a cheap way to grant the character extra powers without the difficulty of writing a non-standard thought process. Thus I wanted to write the slow(ish) progression of a monster character gaining strength and intelligence, while remaining distinctly non-human. There are no stats, xp or systems, no reincarnated soul or completely formed being to start with - unless I want to make fun of those. While the MC 'evolves', the process takes months if not years to proceed step by little step. Sit down with me and imagine, what would it be like if...

Heart of the Dungeon
A lazy, wingless, blabbermouth of an imp, smearing goat’s blood all over the crystal – that is the unpleasant view this new Heart wakes up to. “I’m your Prime!” the imp says. The Heart reluctantly agrees. In an unknown world, filled with dangers, it needs every help it can get – even if said help is not…optimal. The Heart tries its best to succeed, even after being tricked by shrewd traders and having less than useful minions. Rival races settle in the Dungeon, causing even more headaches. The heroes, as they call themselves, sets their aim on the ‘new and defenseless’ Dungeon. The heroes are always lurking in the shadows – well actually, they are standing in the open, under the sun, hiding nothing – but either way, their evil intentions, no matter how they claim to justify them, only cause needless death. “Am I really that precious? Must you hunt me so fiercely? Why are you doing this to me?” The Heart does not understand their motives. Perhaps its lack of understanding has something to do with the fact the Heart has no physical limits nor material needs. Why take it from someone, when you can simply will it forth? Just pay for it with mana rent! To make things worse, the real dangers are not from above, nor from below, but from within…
