《The Last Space King》Hibari

Light particles flew past Rey's eyes as his ears buzzed and body ached as if he just got thrown off a building.
'Am I dead?' He thought.
Rey tried to move, but it was to no avail. He couldn't feel his fingers. He suddenly felt searing pain rushing over his head. Like the endless ocean waves, the pain intensified once again as he tried to distract himself.
As he tried to focus on his environment, the pain and the buzzing in his ear started to intensify once more. As soon as he felt it was impossible to bear, and nearly screamed out, the pain gradually decreased. His vision and senses became crystal clear.
He looked around and realized he was in a room of some sort. The building he was in didn't even look normal. The steel-like walls were filled with intricate patterns that glowed a transparent light. To be precise, by just looking at the walls, he couldn't see any light, yet he could still "feel" a light emanating off of them. He then recognized that he wasn't even breathing in this space and that his body felt lighter than normal. He could visibly see outer space through the open roof on the building.
As he looked around some more in bewilderment, he saw a man with medium-length golden hair standing in the middle of the room. Rey looked into his eyes, and he felt trapped as if he was in a vast and endless space. He lost sight of his own body and was enthralled.
'So scary! To think he would have that effect just by looking at him. Wait a second. Those eyes.' Rey thought and suddenly realized. Abruptly, the man started to speak:
"Commence the last resort. You will be the sole testament to everything that happened here one day." Time skipped forward and the man's body jerked forward. "You may never have my full bloodline, so please forgive me in advance. Goodbye son, your name shall be Jacob Reymond from now on. As you grow up, Hibari will accompany you. At the cost of your bloodline, you shall live." He paused as space distorted and warped.
When Rey awoke, he was in a simple wooden bedroom, with just a bed, table, and a mirror. He opened his eyes and sat himself up. A piercing pain came to him as he did, however.
'Not again!!!' He prepared himself. After a moment the pain didn't get worse and realized that it was different this time. He felt a very strong wincing pain, but unlike the last time, this was bearable.
Truly, he would have endless nightmares of that feeling. As he stood up from bed, everything he heard in that vivid dream-like state came back to him.
Walking over to a mirror facing the bed he slept in, Rey looked at his half-naked body, staring back into his own black eyes.
'What am I?' He recalled that similar feeling. Unexpectedly, a voice called back to him.

'What are you? An incompetent fool whose soul isn't even strong enough to hear me yelling at you!' A deep masculine voice raged.
"What the heck?" Rey shouted out as he covered his body with his hands. Embarrassment and fear overtook him as he looked around.
'Why did Space God give me such a hopeless responsibility?' He made a clicking noise that sounded like it was right behind Rey. 'If only I had perished that day. Who would have thought I'd suffer the endless torture of being alone and almost dying with a weak kid like this. Not even comprehending a law yet. Pitifully delicate!'
"Who's there‽" Rey said with a knot in his throat as he was startled, stumbling backward and landing on his head. A slight bruise formed on the back of his head. Cold sweat formed on his back as he frantically got up again and looked around; nobody was there despite the voice Rey clearly heard.
'And to think that I have to exist while being able to hear every single thought of yours! Don't go to sleep! How can a kid's thoughts be so bland!' He cried with bitterness.
'You know, I, Hibari, used to be a great being; comparable to a god in this world! And now?' Hibari sniffled for a moment before getting mad again. 'Maybe a fly's soul would have realized that I existed! Are you even his son?' Hibari joked in an insane voice.
Rey's eyes widened at the mention of his father. 'He knows my actual father‽' Rey didn't know how to respond and stood in silence as his breathing became heavy.
'Of course, I knew your father!' He laughed, 'He was a great teacher, a wonderful man.'
He bellowed before realizing something big. 'Wait. Wait, what did you say?' He responded dryly.
Rey's breathing was rigid. His wounds hurt and made him feel woozy, yet the adrenaline and fear pumping through his veins kept him alert. "You knew my father?" Rey uttered with a slow and deliberate voice.
'Hold up!' Hibari said in disbelief. 'Say my name!!' Hibari said in a high-pitched and excited voice.
"Hibari?" Rey replied meekly.
"Again!"
"Hibari"
"Again!"
"Hibari"
"Again!"
"Are you okay?" Rey said.
'This, this…' Hibari started to cry and break down at this.
'Do you know how long it has been since I have talked with a person? 12 YEARS! I was a Space King, this isn't a long time for me, but you…you made it into a perpetual nightmare! I even considered abandoning my master's final request. But now…I am free!' Hibari said with great joy.
If looks could kill, Rey would have been a mass murderer at this point. He looked hauntingly at Hibari. 'This fella, isn't he being way too impudent right now?'
'No! I am not! Trust me, if you were me right now, you'd be saying the same things!' He broke down crying again. It had truly been too hard for him these past 12 years.

'Wait…you can hear my thoughts?'
'Yes, as I previously stated. Now do you realize why my life was so torturous‽' Hibari spat out.
'Sorry…' With a bitter smile, Rey didn't know what else to say.
'Oh, don't worry. I'll definitely get my revenge for the next 12 years of your life. Welcome to hell, Rey!!' Hibari said with a mischievous voice.
Suddenly, the door to the room opened, and two familiar faces walked in. Liam and Serai both walked in.
"Rey! Good, you're awake" They walked over and gave him a warm hug.
"Father! Mother! What happened?" Rey exclaimed with worry.
"We killed the Rewke, but….."
'Rewke? What a ridiculous name! Who'd be so dumb to call an Undine a Rewke! It sounds like the noise you'd make when you throw up! Rewke!' Hibari chuckled.
'Seems like this is what he meant when he said revenge…' Rey thought.
"…and then, out of nowhere, you got impaled by a spear and I had to absorb its blood to heal you enough to carry you back. " Serai's voice quivered.
"Sorry about the bloodline son, that was way too close. Next time, stay behind cover and hide. As for now, rest up. When you are healed and ready, we'll go and hunt another creature." Liam said while Serai nodded. Kissing Rey farewell, they left.
'Hibari.' He called.
'Yes, Rey?' Hibari sounded happy.
'You said you knew my father, what I am, who I am?' Rey's breathing became rough as his voice cracked. 'I need answers.'
'You are the descendant of the Space God, the leader of the Space Kings. But as of now, your bloodline is composed of half Space King DNA, as for the rest, it's human DNA. Your original name was Rey Nefasi.' Hibari laughed. 'Why do you think most people here call you Rey instead of Jacob?'
'It's what my parents picked.' He said as thoughts ran through his mind, constantly theorizing.
'Stop thinking so much! And wrong. They call you Rey because that's what I made them call you. My influence is nothing to be looked down apart.' Hibari sounded frustrated.
"You influenced my parents and everyone around me‽ Did I ask you to?" Rey blurted out.
'Keep quiet! Do you think you could even control me if you wish?' Hibari made Rey's thoughts slow as he felt his mind go blank, and his head throbbed. 'Don't test me, Rey. Be it as you may, I won't influence them any longer then. I'll take back that gift since you don't appreciate it. Use your thoughts and stop talking. You want someone to think you are crazy?'
Rey felt fear of just how powerful that suppression was. 'Alright,' he pondered, 'What about my bloodline, why did my father change it?'
Hibari sighed. 'Just forget about it and accept you won't get your birthright as an heir to the Space God. It is against his wishes, but that doesn't mean that I can't help you improve it and help you find some weaker space affinity creatures.' Hibari said solemnly.
Rey's eyes lit up, 'Really‽ Do we have other affinities?'
'Yes, we also have a time affinity, however, it is only a mid-tier affinity, but due to your crappy and diluted bloodline,' he paused, 'I just have to say, you are so weak right now. Seriously, I—'
Rey coughed and heaved.
'Ah, right.' He gave an awkward laugh. 'You have a low mid-tier time affinity, and a high-tier space affinity, along with many trash-tier affinities. I've never seen affinities this low, so I came up with a new tier to describe yours.' Hibari spoke with a jolly voice.
"…" Rey ignored that last part 'Wow! A high-tier space affinity' Rey felt like he hit gold!
'…You know us Space Kings had perfect tier space affinity.' Hibari sighed.
'Oh,' Rey itched his head, 'you said you can improve my bloodline?'
'I can try to experiment a little, it shouldn't be too hard though. Since you were already born as a Space King with your perfect bloodline, you already absorbed some understanding of those laws. With your soul upgraded from house fly state to decent, you should be able to use that portion of the law. Simply clear your mind, feel your connection to the space law and space energy within you, and will something to happen.' Hibari advised him.
'Try to feel and release the space energy from within you.' Hibari said
'Okay, clear your mind.' Rey repeated and cleared his mind. 'Sense the space law…' As he did this, he could feel some strange energy within himself.
'This is the space energy. Release!' he willed. Instantly, energy formed at his fingertips and shot through the ground. 'Success!' He thought.
'Hmm, not that bad kid! I thought that you might accidentally blow yourself up instead.' Hibari laughed.
'What‽ I could have died‽' Rey looked pale as he also remembered his wounds.
'So gullible. It was a joke!' Hibari's deep bellows of laughter echoed in Rey's ears.
'Anyway, even if you did somehow manage to do that, not that I'd put it past you, the Space God did somehow impart some of his power to us, so if we are truly in a dire situation, we can use it.'
'Also, he did give you this." Hibari said mysteriously. 'You're gonna feel a lot of pain. Brace yourself, Rey!' Suddenly Rey felt an unbearable pain coming from his chest.
"Not again!" He yelled before his vision blackened and his body fell onto the bed.
Hibari sighed, 'Tempering your soul is always hard, Rey. We all have our nightmares from our pain and grief. Learn and grow your soul from it, let it be your guide. Good luck, Rey! Just maybe…'
