As Joseph walked closer he saw that Catherine was just fine, but Arborus was breathing heavy and had cuts all over his body, but he was still better off than the five people lying on the ground. They had their limbs cut off and their bodies burned up at a few places.
"I see you two finished off a few bandits."
Catherine shrugged
"It wasn't a big deal. What about you? Did you got any?"
As she was talking she looked over to the place where Joseph was.
"Wait. Did no one attacked you?"
Joseph sighed.
"He got away. It seems like he was using some shady items."
While they were talking, Arborus sit down and turned towards them.
"Am I the only one among us, who had to fight for their life?"
"Not really. I think it was only Catherine, who did not have to. I'm only alive because I was lucky."
"Sure..."
He walked up to his horse.
'This guy...'
They took a few minutes break and then packed up their stuff on the horses.
Catherine and Joseph went forward, while Arborus was following them.
"So Joseph. Do you have any idea who were they?"
"No clue. I mean... The guy I was fighting with was that person I've talked about already. The cloaked mand with a strange fighting method."
"You mean that one from back when we went back to Krishmar from the goblin cave?"
"Yes, that one. He does not look like he is giving up."
"Maybe kill him next time?"
She was speaking cynical which made Joseph annoyed.
"You think I didn't try?"
"Definitely not hard enough!"
Then she laughed as she pulled out a strange metal piece.
"Where did you get that broken blade from?"
"I've found it near where you were. This metal has some nice magic infused into it. It weakens magical effects and cuts through magic, like a knife."
"Noticed. It destroyed like one-fourth part of the shield the necklace have."
"Really? You got hit?"
Joseph felt like an arrow just hit his hearth.
"Yes?"
Catherine laughed again as she put away the sword piece.
Their journey continued on towards the mansion.
