《This world is strange》Chapter 48. Wormholes

After Catherine was done, she grabbed Joseph and they descended into one of the holes.
"This is kind of a labyrinth. It will take at least an hour to find those eggs."
"Did you sense any other worms, or dangerous creatures?"
"No I did not. But that doesn't mean there is nothing dangerous down here. Be on the lookout!"
Joseph made a ball of light that illuminated their surrounding. The hole had smooth walls and there were lots of side ways, but they still descended downwards.
"How far down is it?"
"We need to reach the bottom and from there we'll need to go to north. There are lots of ways that end in chambers, or just join up with an other one. If we go to the wrong way, we could get lost. Then I would need to locate the way once again."
"I see. Then I'll leave it to you."
"That's the best you can do."
It took 10 more minutes to get to the bottom of the hole. It took a sharp turn at the bottom. They followed this way for 10 more minutes then turned, went forward even more and turned again and again. It took more then 2 hours to get to a chamber. The place was huge. They couldn't see the ceiling with just the light of the ball Joseph made, so they made a few more and lit the whole chamber up. Catherine stopped in front of Joseph.
"This one is the last place before the nest. I fear there will be something here."
"Like what?"
"I can only guess that it will be something like a golem."
They illuminated the whole room, but there was nothing there.
"Why is that?"
"Because there was a blueprint for golems in the book I've found. If these are really golems, they are going to be rock golems. They are pretty sturdy, but they can get blown up really easy. Only problem is..."

She looked around. The whole place was dusty and the ceiling wasn't supported by anything. Joseph knew what she thought about.
"This whole place would just blow up."
"Yes. Let's just try to break their legs then. Also ever heard of dust explosion?"
"Right. This will be problematic."
They started to walk forward then one of the walls started to move. A part of it broke down and a big golem that was at least twice as big as them. It looked like someone put rocks on eachother. They were just moving on eachother, basically levitating on eachother. They got ready for battle in a second.
"Here it comes!"
It ran towards them, when Catherine went flying by Joseph. She shouted at Joseph.
"Behind you!"
As he turned around he saw an other golem standing there. It tried to hit him, but he was faster. He pulled out his sword.
"If I can't blow you up, then I'll use a different method."
It tried to hit him once again. He held his sword in front of him and concentrated mana in it. The sword cut it's hand in half and the two parts of it hit Joseph.
"Ugh."
He flew back and landed on the ground. His mouth got injured and blood spilt out of it. He spit on the ground and readied his sword once again. The golem's hand was in two, but it was still attached to the body. It didn't seems like the monster cared about it.
'It didn't go as I wanted. Never mind let's try this one.'
He held the sword above him as the golem started to run to him. Before it got too close he stroke downwards with the sword and let the energy out of the sword. The energy flew out of the sword in a slanted line. As it hit the golem, it got cut half and fell on the ground.

'This did not look like in the animations. It wasn't a half circle nor that big. But it was a lot more efficient.'
As he turned around he saw Catherine standing above the other one's body. He walked to her.
"Seems like these are not trouble for you neither Joseph."
"I mean. If I can cut it, I can kill it."
She laughed.
"Exactly! Let's move on!"
As they reached the middle of the room, one more golem, that was at least 3 times bigger then the ones before hit it's hand in front of them. Joseph jumped backwards.
"I know a good saying for this Catherine!"
She jumped back as well and shot a magic missile at it. It left a hole in it's chest.
"And what is it?"
"The bigger it is..."
He cut the air towards it's legs exhausting all of his mana.
"... the bigger it falls!"
One of it's leg was cut in half, but it did not fall.
"Oh! Come on! That was perfect!"
They dodged one more attack and Catherine made at least a hundred of magical arrows. All of them went for it's legs. As they hit it the golem fell forward towards them.
They started to run and just barely dodged it. It was stil moving and hiting the ground around it. So Catherine blasted it's head with even more shots until it stopped.
"They are pretty weak."
Joseph was sweating and laughed at her.
"No! They are pretty sturdy. It is just that you are strong."
She smiled at him.
"That is also true!"
They walked out of the chamber into the next one. As they lit it up in light they saw hundreds of eggs around the place.
"This does not look good!"

Please do not repost my work elsewhere without my written permission. What type of reader is this book for? You might enjoy The Last Orellen if you like... Clever and resourceful protagonists. Big fantasy worlds. Multiple cultures, lots of characters, many different types of magic--this story is expansive rather than closely focused on a narrow storyline. Progression fantasy that takes its time. Our main character will be progressing through magical ranks, but this is going to be a lengthy story. If you're more about the journey than the destination, this might be the book for you. [participant in the Royal Road Writathon challenge]

A Slip Of The Force
During the New Sith Wars, The Black Sun, worried about their business goes about investing large resources into a project they dubbed Harbinger; to act as the safe guard against the Jedi, Sith and other syndicates that would be intent on removing them from power, if the opportunity shows itself. As such they created a one of kind killing machine, made up of some of the most dangerous races in the known galaxy. But due to unknown sabotage their plans are ruined and their organisation set back centuries in the many plans. Follow this entity on it's journey through the galaxy, as it stumbles upon one mess after another and tries to find its purpose in this vast galaxy. This is my own little star wars fantasy and wish fulfilment so don't come expecting overly complex plots and fully fleshed out galaxy. Hopefully I will be able to make this fun. Also I won't be decribing the species often, so you're going to have to look them up yourself. There are just too many to constantly be describing them beyond their garb.

Aeternalis
One born of nothingness. A world born of everything. To return all to nothing. Or surrender to everything. A man born into an infinite world, trying to find his path to the top. Trials and tribulations come from friends and foes alike until all bow before him. ------------------------------------- Author here! This is my 3rd story on RoyalRoad, the other two having long since been dropped years ago. They were a mess of ideas and had no real substanence to them, leading me to begin hating writing them and eventually just stop writing altogether for about a year and a half. Finally, after reading hundreds of thousands of pages of novels, from low fantasy to sci-fi litrpg's to thousands of pages long xianxias, I finally feel ready to write a real story that isn't a cesspool of ideas blended together. I plan to see this out to the end, as I already have the first few major arcs planned out unlike my other stories where I thought of ideas as I wrote. This story takes place in a world with a litrpg system, as per tags. This isn't a VRMMO or Reincarnation story. The main character exists in and is from said world. There are some differences from other litrpg's which will be explained in author notes in the few few chapters. I plan to publich 6-7 chapters a week, each 2-3k words long. If i fail to do so I will create a back-log I have to eventually make up but as of writing this it's the summer for me so I'll have plenty of time to write. Enjoy, and welcome to the world of Aeternalis.

Greys II - Ghosts
There he stood, dark eyes, dark hair, beautiful in the most devastating of ways. It scared me how little he had changed, his hair was longer and black, his frame thinner, like he hadn't eaten since I last saw him. His eyes were different, lacking something they had always held before, lacking anything really, and yet he was the same. He looked weak, but I knew he wasn't. "Hi, angel."His voice was just as dead as his eyes. It sent a shiver up my spine. That was the reason I felt sick, that was the reason he seemed different. He was dead, and as much as I wanted to hate him, I was sad he was empty, sad he wasn't the same man anymore."Hello, Gabriel."My voice came out softer than I would have liked, the words burning my tongue. But it didn't matter, I got the desired effect even if the volume wasn't there. He flinched, his eyes widening, his eyebrows twitching up and together, his jaw setting for just a moment. But then it was gone and he looked away, death settling back in his eyes, in the lines of his face.» ✦ «#2 in Angel Romance#3 in Demonology#11 in Thriller#Mature, 18+ for all the reasons. Not a YA novel (again).**Due to disturbing themes, violence, depression, language and literally everything else, this is not for the kids. Ghosts is darker than Intentions.
