《This world is strange》Chapter 32. The core

As he left he entered in an other room.
"It seems the caves ended."
The place was pretty empty and looked like the one he fought with golems in, but a lot bigger.
"More golems?"
A golem felt down. It was massive, at least 6 m tall and had big body.
"The answer is yes. More golems... And this one is big."
The cat looked at him, like why is he talking to himself.
The golem started to move. It was even slower than the other ones, but the ground shake with each of it's steps.
'Now how do I take it down? I need more firepower. But I need more time for that!'
He rushed towards it, but the golem slammed it's arms fast on him. He barely dodged it. Where it hit was a hole in the ground.
'If it hits me I might die instantly.'
He touched the ground a few meters away from the golem and made the ground covered with slime, using up almost all of his manna. As the golem lift it's arm up to attack it slip and fell on it's back. The ground shake and Joseph fell as well because of it.
'Oh no!'
It held up it's legs and one of it's arms and spinned itself around.
'What is this tactic?!'
Fortunatelly it did not move sideways. So he moved away from it and started to preaper to shoot it with his special bomb. This time he made all three lenses and shot a big energy ball at it.
It exploded and a lot of fragments flew in every direction, leaving a dust cloud in the room.
"That was pretty annoying!"
Just as he ended the sentence the arm of the golem swing into his side and he flew into the side of the room. He split up blood sitting, as he looked at the middle of the place and watching as the dust dissipated. The golem stood up with half of it's upper part and one arm missing.

"This one can take a hit."
He spit out the blood and tried to get some manna back, but the golem started to walk towards him.
"Ugh..."
Joseph stood up and started to walk to the side away from the golem, but his ribs hurt really bad, so he wasn't much faster then the golem. As it got closer, slowly the broken pieces from it got back to the golem and it repaired itself.
'I can't belive it! The shot I made wasn't big enough and just teared down a part of it. But if I use a giant explosion I would die as well. I might need to heat and then cool it down repeteadly to breakit, but there is too much dust in the air to use fire.'
He used most of his manna he recovered to heal up some of the wounds and now he moved normally, but the golem was totaly fine as well.
"Now back to squer one!"
He moved around the golem dodging it's attacks and then made the ground slippery again, but the golem just made it's legs part of the ground and only released the one he moved every step.
'This one is learning in life. It's really bad!'
He moved around waiting for his manna to regenerate, but the negative effect on it made it worse and there wasn't enough place to take a break.
'Now what?'
He saw the cat walk up to the golem's leg and climb up on it.
'What is she doing?'
The cat climbed to it's right shoulder and then descend on the middle of it's stomach and looked at Joseph. After that scratched it and jumped down. The golem realized she was on it and tried to hit her, but the cat was a lot faster.

'Nice one! But does she want me to hit it there?'
Joseph pointed his wand at the scartch. As he shot out a magic arrow the golem moved it's arm in the way defending itself.
'Ah! It seems like that's an important part!'
It started to move even faster and tried to hit him, but he was still more flexible and dodged out of the way. He shot an arrow at every oportunity, but the golem defended against them and after the 3rd shot it just held it's left arm in the way and attacked with it's right one.
'This won't work.'
He just collected his manan into his wand without attacking and pulled out his sword. After each dodge he hit it's hand, but he was really tired at this point.
'I only got one shot.'
He waited for a few more minutes before he shot his energy at it's hand as a dense and fast bullet which modelled an ap bullet of a tank. It passed right through the golem and he heared a clanking noise behind it. The golem stopped in one place and looked like a statue.
"It died. Nice!"
He got a window.
Attention!
You've leveled up! You have unspent stat points.
"One more level? Oh yeah!"
As he was celebrating, he looked behind the golem and saw a crystal ball, which looked like the ones future-tellers use in movies.
"What do we have here?"
As he looked at it from closer, it had blue flames swirling around in it. He inspected it.
Manna core
A crystal ball containing intense amount of manna. It has so much in it, that it shifted reality and made a pocket dimension copying it's creator's masterwork. You can use it to cast spells or just absorb the manna from it.
"This is amazing!"
The cat climbed on his back to his shoulder.
"Hey! What are you doing?"
As he tried to get her down the cat jumped on the ball and bit it. The ball leaked the manna out from it and the cat, like she was a vampire, she drank the manna from it.
"Hey! Hey! Hey! You shouldn't do that! It will explode!"
He was looking at the scene with white face.
When the manna got emptied out from it, the cat started to light blue. She turned into a beastfolk. A woman who looked like a female human, with outstanding body and having cat ears and tail. As the light dissipated she was standing in front of him wearing a black robe and a wizard cap.
"What the...?"

I should have been the Hero instead
William Valenston had a happy life untill a new demonlord appeared. With the constant threat of the vile creatures he must quickly become a man and defend his Race from the approaching disaster. the synopsis and title will probably change later on And I think it gets better after arc 1 ch 3 The real story won't begin untill the heroes are summoned so you may feel a little bored while Im building the world and te mc' s personality. I wanted to state that this novel will start with a lighter tune but then get dark real fast. For the sexual content: it wont happen untill much longer. And when it happens it wont be overly explicit. Gore and traumatising content: It wont be at the level of nauseous but it may be too so just to be safe. This is my first try on writing novels so I welcome all of your criticism either good or bad. And lastly english isn't my native tounge so expect some grammer mistakes. But I will work on that part I promise.

The Villain's Double Life
“The Villain’s Double Life as the Hero’s Mentor," “Demon Nobles Want to Live Too: A Hero-Raising Simulator for the Transmigrated Villain," “Just Because I’m a Villain Doesn’t Mean I Want the World to End!” Cyrus Calvide was the second son of an aristocratic lord; haughty, vain and power-hungry. One day, when his ancestral inheritance manifested, he discovered he was able to steal other’s powers and abilities using demonic magic. Taking this as a sign that he was destined to rule over others and become the new king of this land, he poisoned his father, killed his elder brother, and embarked on the path to greatness, taking advantage of a demonic invasion to consolidate power and harvest the abilities of others in a cruel and bloody fashion. Until he was summarily defeated by the Hero as a mid-game boss battle and executed for his crimes, of course. When a dedicated fan of the RPG “Next to Eden” awakened in the body of the cruelest future Count, four years before the beginning of the game, he pledged to live humbly. He would let his brother lead and support the Hero from the shadows to ensure the demon invasion would be defeated and he could enjoy life in peace. Rather, he would have, if he hadn’t gotten the Hero’s mentor killed in a freak monster attack before the Hero’s training could even begin. How was he supposed to live a life of peace and luxury if the Hero couldn’t stop the end of the world!? Donning a mask, Cyrus took up mentoring the Hero himself; how hard could it possibly be? . . . Four years later, the kind jack-of-all-trades hero Leon had become a twisted powerhouse: alienating his party members, clearing enemy encounters in a single magical blast, and coldly ignoring the affections of the girl whose love would have allowed him to clear the final boss. He seemed to have plastered himself to his Master’s side, instead. Cyrus bit back his despair while the hero reached out to grasp his hand. “Please stop ignoring the saint, Leon; you can't beat the Demon King by grinding stats! You need the power of love, remember?” “Don’t worry, Master,” Leon smiled as he traced the lines of Cyrus’s palm gently, almost reverently. “I have all the love I need.” VDL is two parts plot and worldbuilding, one part slow-build gay romance, starring a man far too proud to admit he's in over his head and the hero who loves him. Should be updating weekly.
