《This world is strange》Chapter 31. Unusual room

As Joseph left the room it closed up. He looked at the cat, who was walking forward in the cave.
'This one saved me a lot of time drawing my attention to the open door.'
He looked at the new window.

"Should I put it into int? Or wis? I don't know yet. I think I'll just keep it. I still get points withouth spending these, so it is not a big problem."
He walked after the cat to a door leading into an other room. But he stopped to take a brake before entering. After half an hour later he entered the room. It was a hallway made from carved stone. It was really long, also wider and had higher ceiling than the cave, but smaller than the room before.
'Seems like it wants me to fight in a smaller room.'
As he looked down he noticed the ground was made with squared pattern.
'Interesting, it is very different from all the places from before.'
As he took one step forward, he felt the ground press in and then iron stakes came out of the floor. One pierced his right foot he just put in front of him.
He cried out of pain and gritted his teeth. But the pain vanished in a few seconds.
"Huh? Why does it not hurt? Something is very wrong!"

He squat down and made a cutting torch from condensed manna. It cut through the stake easily. After that he pulled his leg off from the base of it.
"What the hell is this?"
His foot had a hole in it, but it did not hurt, nor bled.
"I should still heal this."
He held his two hands on both sides of his foot and looked at the cat who was staying next to him looking at his wound.
"I hope I can heal it kitty cat!"
He imagined his foot getting healed and concentrated on it leading his manna into his feet. He didn't really ned his hands around it, but it was more comfortable this way. After a minute of concentration it got healed.
He leaned to the doorway sweating.
"I hope I don't have to do something like this again. It takes a lot out of me. I can't imagine what would happen with even worse wounds."
He looked at his stats to see his manna.
xx
Manna: 5/240
xx
Abilities: ... Medicine F

"Ugh... My manna is at bottom. But it seems like I got a new ability. Medicine."
Medicine F
You can heal your wounds be it just a scratch or a lost limb, but it uses immense amount of manna. You can heal others as well, but it costs even more manna, given you have to use it outside of your body. You can also use your abilities to first aid someone with regular items.
"It is pretty usefull. I hope I don't have to get it to higher level... Ever!"
He took another breake and restored his manna.
After another half an hour he looked at the square he stepped on. It wasn't different from any of the other ones.

"How can I find the way, without triggering any more traps?"
He looked around and noticed the stake he just broke.
"This might work."
He grabed it and pushed down the next square he wanted to step on, but nothing happened. He stepped on it and it was still fine.
He walked forward using this tactic and triggered different traps, flames coming from the walls, arrows, more stakes.
"I'm at halfway now."
As he pressed down the next, he heard a click from the walls. They started to move in and try to squeeze him into a mush.
"Oh no..."
He made to magical shield on his sides and started to run forward. Arrows, flame, swinging blades, magical bullets hit his shields as he ran. He was almost out when the door before him shut in.
"What the hell?"
He had almost no manna left so he started to search for a way to open it. Then the cat just walked to it and touched it by her right pawn. The door opened like it was never closed.
"How did you do that?!"
The cat just walked in, looked back and meowed at him. He followed the cat.
The new room was really dark, he saw nothing. Then it lit up. He saw a cubick room with a pedestal in the middle, which had a button on top. On the other side there was a door with a number 60 on it. The number started to go down.
"I know this trick... It's such a funny trap if you don't know how it works."
He just pushed the button and the time went up to 60.
"Yup it's the same. I should take a brake here. Kitty would you be so kind to push the button repeatedly until I take a brake?"
He put the cat on the pedestal and she pressed the button.
"Hahaha... You really understand me don't you?"
The cat meowed.
"Thank you."
He took the brake and then waited for the number to go to 0 and the door on the otherside opened.
"Easy if you know it. If I wouldn't know this trap I would be too scared to let the number go down to 0. Hahaha..."
He exited the room.

Rogue Dungeon: A LitRPG Adventure
From James A. Hunter, author of Viridian Gate Online and War God's Mantle! Check out my first attempt at a Dungeon litRPG Novel! Roark von Graf—hedge mage and lesser noble of Traisbin—is one of only a handful of Freedom fighters left, and he knows the Resistance’s days are numbered. Unless they do something drastic … But when a daring plan to unseat the Tyrant King goes awry, Roark finds himself on the run through an interdimensional portal, which strands him in a very unexpected location: an ultra-immersive, fantasy video game called Hearthworld. He can’t log out, his magic is on the fritz, and worst of all, he’s not even human. Now, he’s a low-class, run-of-the-mil Dungeon monster. Some disgusting, blue-skinned creature called a Troll. At least there’s one small silver lining—Roark managed the grab a powerful magic artifact on his way through the portal, and with it he might just be able to save the world after all. Unless, of course, the Tyrant King gets to him first …Hey everyone, so as most of you know, I write books for a living, and I just put this title up on Amazon (and enrolled it in KU). Because KU requires exclusivity as part of their terms of service, I have had to pull the majority of the content from this site. I left the full novel up for as long as possible, so I hope everyone got a chance to read it. If you haven't had a chance to read it in its entirety (sorry!) you can pick it up on Amazon. Thanks again for coming on this journey with me, and I so hope you enjoyed it. The book will be out on Tuesday July 24th. Best, James Hunter

A lot of new content has been added to the early chapters since the end of May. The first chapters are still under construction and editing, but all the major changes are done. I was a webnovel junkie for a long time, but I found it hard to find novels with solid characters, decent plot, philosophical underpinnings and a fully painted world to keep me going. I've taken from every genre I've liked to make a story that satisfies my own cravings for a good story. If you like the story or have suggestions please leave a comment or review. I hope this novel is fun, provocative but above all fun. Enjoy. Yours truly, James Paul Addington PS I will release at least two chapters a week, or one really long chapter. Concerning the tags: The story is primarily Fantasy with Wuxia influence in some elements. Romance won't happen for the first two arcs or so (roughly 40 chapters), I want to build the world before I do that. Tragedy is because of an event that occurs in the book, not the tone of the book. The book is more lighthearted. Slice of Life doesn't occur till the third arc (the romance happens during that arc as well). Magic will also show up more in later arcs, but appears throughout. Reincarnation it's not a reincarnation like in the traditional sense, but it has a similar concept.
