After listening to the story the hag just smiled at him and emptied her pipe.
"So that's where that old lizard headed. I saw him flew across the sky a few days ago. I was wondering why did he woke up after thousand years of slumber."
She stood up and walked to his cage.
"Now speak about how you managed to damage my property!"
'It's strange. The spell I used is definetly not a strong one. It made an eplosion, like a granade, but with her power she could use even stronger ones.'
"I just used a simple spell."
She got angry.
"Simple spell? A guy with literally no manna could harm one of my experiments I made against mages and you call it a simple spell?"
"But it wasn't even that strong!"
She silenced him again.
"If you are going to be like that, then don't expect me to give you any hospitality! I'll see how you speak after being left in the cage for a day!"
Joseph felt his manna leaving his body.
"See you later!"
She stormed out from the shack. A minute later a window appeared before him.
Alert!
Your manna is being drawn outside of your body for an excessive time leaving it on 1 manna. If you don't regenerate faster than the power that draws it out you'll suffer irreversible side effects!
'Great! Now what?'
He sit down.
'Maybe if I absorb the manna around me?'
He tried doing it, but the spell that sucked his manna out was more powerfull than his absorbtion skill.
'This is not working. But it makes a little bit better.'
He stayed there concentrating so that he lessen the effect. After an hour he actually held in a very little manna, but.

Alert!
You are exhausted! If you keep up working hard you will lose your conciousness!
'Now what. If I don't do this I'll suffer because of the spell, if I do this I'll fall asleep and then suffer. There is no other choice!'
He tried to use a spell that he just made up. It would intervene with the one that sucks out his manna and after sucking it out it would lead it back right in him, but... It was a failure.
He lied on the ground exhausted. He didn't have any idea. He was left alone for one more hour, when he recived another window.
Alert!
After beeing exposed to such a manna lose for an extendid time, your body degregated it's manna regeneration to help you keep your energy. Manna regeneration is permanently decreased by 5%. If the effect applies even longer, the side effect will grow exponentially.
'Oh no! This is not good. I can't do anything.'
He was sweating and still didn't figure out anything.
'So this spell works like: I make manna, lead it into my body and it sucks it out of it... Wait! What if my manna stays in the mana core? Can it still draw it out?'
He concentrated on to stop the effect of the magic infusion. It took him half an hour to force it to stop. But after he did it... It was still bad. The spell was still sucking out his manna, but the rate decreased. It only used up half of his manna instead of all.
'It might be better. The window disappeared as well. Now I can take a...'
He fell asleep thinking.

WARNING: THIS STORY HAS A SLOW START. YOU HAVE BEEN WARNED. We all grew up hearing stories about heroes and villains, but what would we do if we were to be part of one? Now a strange creature made of darkness, James has to deal with his new form in a strange new world where superpowers, heroes and villains are commonplace, far away from his home. Watch as he learns how to use his powers, as he meets allies and enemies and how, when facing the paths of heroism and villainy, he chooses a third way somewhere in between. Follow the story of James, a lost Earthling soul, as he becomes Silhouette, the mysterious power in the shadows. Greetings fellow humans. This is my first story on Royal Road and my first long-term project written in English, so I do hope you will have some mercy in your heart when reading. So, as you may have understood, this is a story with super-heroes - which is quite ironic for my first story considering all of the other ones planned are fantasy - and as such will take place in a modern-like setting. Despite dark themes and gory scenes making their way into the story, it is still a super-hero world with the logic that matches, so expect characters to survive nuclear explosions without a scratch and yet to get defeated by a rubber ducky - as well as similar dark humor, thus the comedy part.
