《Emperor Of The North [Dropped]》Chapter 25: The Lady's Assassin. Pt1

Four months, it's been four months since I arrived in this town, met with many people and an ally from my country.
Arthur planned to move Maria and Markus away because of the heroes, but they left the town three days after to come back later.
So, I kept training Markus, boy wasn't growing much faster, but he had the spirit and will!
Also, Fluffy is staying with Maria at the time because she began to feel insecure.
And finally, after four months passed with many events that I cannot tell right now.
Heroes came back for a dungeon raid! Now let's give information about that.
About the raid:
Arthur will lead the dungeon raid.
A hunter ranked -A showed up to join our raid, I did not trust him, but Arthur seemed to know the man and gladly accepted him into our group.
I managed to make some gunpowder. Group merchants were carrying certain goods, and lucky me, they bring sulfur with them too.
They tried to sell sulfur as a gold powder to scam someone, but no one bought it. So, I bought it for a low price.
The cheapest amongst the three was the material I used was charcoal, and the most expensive was saltpeter.
It cost me a gold coin and four silver to buy every ingredient, but the place where I bought it, Alchemist guild, allowed me to use their equipment, which was nice.
After many experiments, I made a prototype bomb by compressing gunpowder and small sharp objects inside a ceramic ball.
My experimental weapon doesn't have a mechanism that will allow it to explode on impact at first, but people on Alchemist guild helped me to make one (Of course, I needed to pay for that too)
I tried one of them outside only to see if it works and yes, it worked. It is not powerful compared to the ones used by the empire (At least Arthur said that.)
It is still experimental, and I want to advance this more when I have time to do it. I could make a small fortune just by selling weapons, but I consider that later.
I also bought a new backpack from the marketplace, which can carry more than the older one I had.
---------------------------------------------------------------------
It is early in the morning, but around twenty people are waiting outside the gates. Some of them are eating something before going to raid. Others are either polishing their equipment or chatting with each other.

I finished my preparations yesterday. Dried meat, two cans of water, one has a herbal drink made out of the water and a plant that recovers stamina on usage.
Arthur assigned people into two different groups.
Arthur will lead the first group, and the -A ranked hunter will lead the second group.
The first group includes Arthur, five heroes, two hunters, and two knights.
The second group includes Me, the -A ranked hunter, five knights, and four hunters.
"Everybody, get up and go to your seats. We will move in five minutes." Arthur appeared. "For everyone's knowledge, we will going to stay there around two days, and no more, so try not to cause problems."
"I hope all you people are ready because we have a four hours road in front of us without a stop for certain needs." A driver shout.
Everyone was ready, including me, so everyone with one mouth shouted back. "To the loot, to the glory, to the dungeon!"
"Then we go!" Drivers raised the leashes and hit the horses. We began to move.
While we were on the road, I began reading the note with information about the dungeon given to everyone.
It is a spider dungeon containing some draugrs at the first level, and they expect a dungeon boss at the end.
That explains the reason why every group has two barrels of antidote with them. Poison will be a pain in the ass.
-------------------------------------------------------------------
We stopped at the entrance of a cave. Compared to the dungeon I entered in the forest, this one's entry is enormous!
Drivers began to set up a camp outside. They are unloading food, water, medical supplies, etc.
Arthur climbed on a rock and whistled. That whistle means be fast and gather around me.
"Now, we are going to give two torches for each person in two groups. Inside is bright because of the crystals, so use it only if you need."
He talked for a while. Most of the things Arthur said were unimportant and known by everyone participating.
Except "Dungeon has four divided paths. We should be found each other at the second chamber, then we can send some scouts outside to notify the people waiting on outside and carry some supplies inside.".
"If everything is understood, raid starts right now."
Everyone shouted and began singing the song once again.
"To the loot, to the glory, to the dungeons!"

--------------------------------------------------------------------
The first thing to greet us inside the dungeon was a group of Draugrs.
Our group still was one piece at that moment. We are easily outnumbering and killing the Draugrs.
Hunters and knights were collecting body parts of draugrs. It is a trophy and proof of your kill.
I didn't need money, so I decided to leave the corpses unless I found something more interesting than body parts.
After some more talking, a man in our group became too cocky and rushed forward without waiting for us.
"Stop, you moron. Do you want to trigger a trap?" But he wasn't listening.
"Y'all chickens are afraid that I will find a treasure before you ca-" He pressed a pressure plate, and a giant ax dropped from above.
It sliced the man into two.
"Now, do you understand? Your lives, your responsibilities, long as you listen to my warnings, you are safe, okay." It was our group leader who talked.
He kept his calm. I can see it's not his first time witnessing a death like this. Still, others were shocked by the event.
Their faces turned green. One of them even puked outside. But for me, it wasn't much of a change as I see worse deaths.
Now, everyone is walking behind a straight path left by our group leader.
A small group of spiders and Draugrs tried to attack us but just killed them went on our way.
At this point, I should say I am impressed by the power of that class -A hunter.
He carries an ignitable sword, which he can use as a flamethrower to roast waves of spiders endlessly coming towards us.
The heat of the fire coming out of the tip of his sword is high. It roasts spiders big as a house cat in seconds.
His magic is unquestionably powerful, but I wonder how his close combat skills are. I never see him using his sword in melee.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
After more encounters with smaller spiders, bigger ones began to appear.
Three kinds of them appear.
Brawlers: Big as fluffy, has sharp fangs on front.
Spitter: Same size as the first ones we encountered but can spit venom and acid from far, pretty annoying.
Hunter: Smaller than both, but more dangerous as well. They crawl around and jump on you. Our group leader said that it has the most deadly venom amongst the spiders in this dungeon.
I'll try to locate Hunters as my danger sense allows me to find them, while others fight against Brawlers in front while class -A kills the Spitters with his flame magic.
The number of spiders in every wave is increasing. At this rate, it will be impossible for me to stop every hunter.
"Be careful!" I shoot ice projectile towards a Hunter jumping towards the face of our group leader.
"Usage of Liches presence could slow the enemy." Voice talked.
That is a skill I just learned but will I use it? No! Lifes of other people matter, but I won't expose myself to them.
Human blood spilled on the ground.
A Brawler overwhelmed a hunter and shredded his throat.
They began to push us back, and new waves of spiders continuously came.
A knight was overwhelmed by the spiders and killed. That makes the third death of our group, two to spiders and one to traps.
We began moving backward as the horde of spiders started pushing us.
While we were moving backward, one of the knights triggered another trap. A piston burst from above and smashed four people.
Only me, a knight, and the class -A hunter are alive right now.
Class -A hunter raised his sword, and fire particles started to appear around it.
It gathered some power before firing it towards the swarm of spiders.
All of them, including the last knight who caught in fire, were roasted alive.
Screeches of burning spiders are already disturbing enough, but screams of the knight burning alive were in another level of disturbing.
"Stop your attack!" I shout.
He didn't even look at me. He kept attacking them until every single one of the spiders died.
"What was in your mind? Do you need to kill an ally, or why didn't you do that before!"
He looked at me. "Lady don't want no witnesses. So, I, Alexandros, allowed them to die." He began to laugh maniacally
"Who the hell is that lady?" I shouted at him and jumped away.
"You don't need to know who the lady is, but I can say one thing lady wants something from here, and you are only slowing me down."
He raised his sword and began to charge it again.
"Fuck you, and fuck my bad luck!"

The Hunt
Cecily's blade swung, hitting its mark as always. The man's arm fell to the cold grass of the prison with a familiar thud. He let out a blood curdling scream. A warning to the rest. Stay away, the Hunter is here. That's the name they'd given her, the Hunter. After she cut off the man who tried to rape hers masculinity, they stayed away. She'd made it clear anyone who tried to touch her would be hunted and slaughtered. Cecily kneeled down, pushing the man's face into the dirt so she could use his back as a seat while she trifled through his belongings. "You're hurting my ears," she told him, no remorse in her voice. "Quiet down before I really do kill you."The man but his lip, well aware that she wasn't lying. Sobs shook him, making for an uncomfortable seat. She, however, didn't particularly feel the beed to kill him. It happened, not often, but it did. "Oh, hush up," she hissed, taking out a bag of rations with her metal hand, "it doesn't hurt that bad."With her good, human hand, she dropped the plastic bag of food into her own bag. She pushed up, off the man back. As she was about to walk away, bag slung over her shoulder, brushing against her autumn colored braid, she turned back to him. "Consider yourself lucky," she said, no hatred in her voice, there never was. "Consider yourself lucky that you didn't do anything stupid. And even luckier if one of the scum bagged criminals in here feel a little light in their hearts and help you. Consider yourself luckier if you die there."With that, her old black and white Nike sneakers carried her off into the brush of the huge prison.
