《Fall of the Seven Kings》Chapter 2: Capture for Slaughter

Hunter Black:
Hunter coughed waving the dust away from his face, the town that the girl was born in was filthy, Hunter almost felt disgusted by stepping into the area, it couldn’t even be called a town, the word Hunter was looking for was ‘slum’. He watched as two boys chased each other for a loaf of bread, an old man who reeked alcohol sitting by the wall of an alley, a group of teens stared at him as he passed, Hunter grabbed onto his pouch of coins that he kept in latched on to his belt, and started to count the coins.
“You know it's not that bad after you get to know everyone” Aziya said helping the old man up “This is Oakira, he's the ex-deputy sheriff of this town”
“This Ex-deputy is still alive and kicking” Oakira said as he raised his hand to shake, “Miss Ophelia welcome back I hope everything went as smoothly as planned”
“I wouldn’t put it that way” Ophelia snorted “I almost died”
“Oh? I thought you were going to collect Mello-grass in the fields?” The elder tilted his head at Ophelia’s statement. “And you young fellow, where did you come from? I had believed that the fields had been bordered due to a wendigo incident.”
“Nothing special” Hunter shrugged at the elder “The guards were dead when I got to the border so I let myself in, and found these two lady’s on my way back and helped them out of a hole that they dug themselves”
The elder smiled at Hunter, showing him a row of bright white teeth Hunter stood completely still compared to the dirty rags the white teeth that the Oakira had just shown him were unsettling.
“Bassa, can you hear me?” Hunter thought as he handed four silver coins to the elder “We need to talk once we get an inn”

“Hehehe what? Something catching your eye?” the taunt came before Hunter had prepare himself, and he was not in the mood to joke around when every single one of his plans was about to go in the waste
“CAN YOU SHUT UP AND CONCENTRATE” Hunter exploded, everyone stopped walking and turned to look at Hunter, at that moment Hunter immediately realised that three people in the crowd seemed to be following them. “Sorry, where were we? I got lost in thought”
“Where’s my brother?” Aziya asked Oakira “He should have returned first”
“Unfortunately your brother did not return last night” Oakira shook his head “I was hoping that you had the answer for that”
“NO” Aziya slumped on her knees with a terrified expression “PLEASE DON’T”
Turning away from Aziya, Oakira sighed “We should get you to the infirmary Lady Ophelia, those wounds will not close without stitches”
“Good thinking, you, come with me” She pulled Aziya away from the group, Hunter watched them walk into the alley as two of the men switched routes following the two of them. Hunter cursed under his breath, now he had a problem, he had planned to kill the three people after he settled in a nearby area but by the way they blatantly showed themselves within this town troubled him the most. Everyone could see them, why were they just acting as if people couldn’t? Unless….. Hunter stifled a laugh, it was childish of him to think positively in this town, a town that had generations of filth beaten into its very system, what else was Hunter expecting to come out of the waste yard? Gold? Silver? Ha he must be getting delusional from all the time he had been stuck in that cellar, he scowled it made sense he was hearing Bassa but now he was starting to hear a voice of mercy and pity for the people of this land, he couldn’t stand it.

“Now this will be the inn that you will be staying in, I do hope it suits your liking” Oakira bowed to Hunter “I will have some attendants bring you some daily necessities”
“That won’t be necessary, I already have what I want” Hunter said while looking at the inn, the outside was completely covered moss, as Hunter walked into the inn he saw a bar at one side of the inn while the other side held a flower shop, as they continued straight as he walked to the innkeeper desk to get the keys that the ex-sheriff had allowed him to stay in.
“Goddamnit Bassa, what the hell is this,” Hunter cursed while scratching his head “The first town I find wants my head”
“Well… You might not have been a target if u hadn’t used the bandages to kill” Bassa picked up a book of holy scriptures on the drawer watching his hand slowly burn from it “They see you more of a threat than anything, A threat to the nation and their lives”
“I saved them!” Hunter exclaimed “I used my power for good! They don’t understand what is good for them! they’re doing because this society wants it to this way”
“Mhmm” Bassa shrugged
Hunter looked at him with disbelief, all he could do is think of how he would counter the measure they put against him, their plan was laughably easy to understand, get Hunter separated from the town in order to kill him without casualties, Hunter raised his hand as three black bandages coiled around his arm intertwining with one and another finally forming a triangular shaped blade. This was his ability, although he was nowhere close to figuring out what it was it was dependable, he had found several different ways to use the bandage;
First they could be cut off turning into real razor sharp blades that would disappear after hitting its target. Secondly, There is infinite supply of the bandage. And finally there seems to be some sort of emergency trigger with his ability as everytime he had gotten himself into a life threatening situation it would activate an ‘Act’.
“Their coming” Bassa said, putting his hands on the door “They’re outside, around six people, What's the plan?
Hunter got up and changed into his suit, he looked into the mirror, his ashy black hair was almost covering his eyes, his black pupils stared back at him and shivered, he looked more like a beggar than a citizen of this society. The knock on his door came as he expected it, his hands that had been shaking a few minutes before were now dead steady as if the adrenaline had washed away the fear. He opened the door and felt pain in his leg, he didn’t have time to react as he looked down at his thigh area and saw a cow tranquilizer dart stuck right where it hurt. His eyes grew heavy.
“Prepare him for the ceremony with the others, get the altar ready!” Oakira squatted down to Hunter's level and smirked at Hunter “Not so powerful anymore are we?”
“Fuck… You….” Hunter struggled with his words as his world became dark.
