《Round Two》Chapter 29 - Enjoy The Evening

Leo begins to look through the reward store. Something magical? Like an amulet? Bunch of skills and abilities… The Art of Witchcraft, Beginner Spell Recipes, Valid Black Magic and The Value of Curses, Maintaining Relationships and Communicating With Deities… Damn there are a lot of these… I wonder if any of these are useable by humans? Leo wonders as he reads through the description the various descriptions. Suddenly, the image on Leo's phone begins to shimmer before reforming. Leo's eyes widen as he reads the changes. Is useable by humans? Fuck. The Black Star corporation can read my mind? And update the app? They’re efficient, I guess… He thinks, feeling a little creeped out.
While Leo was lost in thought, the door opens and the ambassador walks out. He was very well-dressed and he seemed young for his position. He walks out and stretches his arms. “How’s it going, boys? Ready to go out? Work’s done and I’m ready to party. Trust me on this one bros, Monday parties are the best; everyone is horny and stinks of desperation.” He says with a smile.
Sal raises an eyebrow. “How is that good exactly?” He asks, finding the matter to be a little depressing.
The ambassador smirks. “Because my, friend. That’s the human experience. It’s the essence, it’s the core. We all pop into to this world randomly like little turd nuggets, and in all this chaos, all this mess and bullshit, all we really want is to connect with each other. So what if desperation is part of the formula? Sometimes that’s the tastiest part.” He says with a laugh.
Sal lets out a chuckle. “You got something to say about that, Leo? I think he’s talking to you.” He teases.
Leo lets out a snort. “Hey, if you have the secret formula for love let me know. My ears are wide open.” He says with a hint of taunt.

“What are you talking about? What is this love you speak of? Sex is basically just work. The feeling builds up and you gotta release it. That’s why I fuck and go. It’s just business.” Sal says, brushing the idea aside.
Leo’s eyes widen, somewhat in shock. “Sal, buddy, tell me. Were you raised by robots?” He asks, somewhat concerned.
The ambassador shakes his head. “Bro… Come on, you don’t think that…” He says, also somewhat concerned.
Sal raises an eyebrow. “Why? What’s wrong? It’s biological function! How is that wrong!?” He asks, creeped out by the looks of sympathy.
Leo also shakes his head. “Bro, c’mon. Just admit it. We’re both desperate. The difference between me and you is that I hear it loud and clear.” He says with a sigh.
“Fuck off. Are we going or are we going? You guys are creeping me out.” Sal says, wanting to get away from the conversation.
The ambassador pats Sal on the shoulder. “Don’t worry my friend. Tonight I show you the ways of love. I’ll show you how weirdos find happiness.” He says before letting out a loud laugh.
…
…
“Why am I driving to the industrial part of town. There’s nothing here but factories and warehouses.” Sal comments as he drives the car. “Also, the sun is still out. How desperate is this party?” He asks, feeling a little embarrassed.
“It’s desperate as fuck, my friend. Also, I’m an ambassador. I can’t just go to a nightclub or it would look weird. I have scurry around like a rat and party in the sewers, away from the light of day.” The ambassador says with a laugh.
“Yeah… What’s up with that? It’s like as I get older, the sun becomes more harmful to my eyes…” Leo wonders aloud.

Sal lets out a smirk. “It’s cause you’re a vampire. Both of you creeps. Like two goblin vampires. Oh, there it goes, the sun’s setting. Are you two cool, now?” He says.
A moment of silence follows, the rumbling of the car and the tires on the road trying to fill the emptiness.
“I don’t know about you guys, but I feel better.” Leo comments.
The ambassador lets out a laugh. “You guys are weird.” He says, amused. “By the way, why were you two hired to guard me?” He asks, slightly curious.
Leo has no hesitation. “The guy we’re working for wants to smuggle a bunch of ganja into your country. He hired us to make sure you don’t make any waves.” He says without a care.
“Dude!” Sal exclaims with a slap to Leo’s shoulder.
Leo lets out a smile. “What? There’s no reason he shouldn’t know, right?” He says, still not caring.
“Damn, are you guys serious?” The ambassador says with wide eyes.
“I mean, yeah, we’re serious. Are you going to do anything?” Leo asks as he turns around to look at the ambassador.
“Fuck. I mean, I would. I mean, I’m very loyal to my country. But what if I did, would you guys shoot me?” The ambassador asks, somewhat worried.
“Nope. No killing.” Sal says with a sigh.
The ambassador smiles. “Alright. Cool. I'll probably just keep quiet anyway. I mean, that’s not really my job. It’s a whole ass country, I’m sure it can handle itself.” He says as he takes out his phone and opens his contact list.
“And yeah, by the way, your phone is already being monitored. Anything you’re sending out or receiving is being filtered. I think they’re even blocking calls to certain people.” Leo decides to say.
The ambassador’s eyes widen. Fuck. So that’s why they’re not receiving my texts. He thinks, somewhat frustrated. Fuck it. It’s no longer my problem. He thinks, deciding to just enjoy the evening.
