《Hannah Forteza and her Forte Persona》Chapter Twenty

IF ONLY THE WIND hadn't ruined her coiffure for the day, the list of things from earlier wouldn't result from happening. But what could she would do, it already happened. Only if, only if.

This was not vertigo, moreover a dream to be called. And based on the reality-- for it had everything for support-- it was quaking.

Right, it was. So what? Even though her instinct was already telling her to egress the stockroom as soon as everything had calmed down, she didn't bother an inch in that pinpoint location of hers. She just resolved herself of thinking of what might the attic have, apparently.

Aside from the cadaver-- maybe it had papers, files, and documents. Maybe it was, or maybe not. Right, she doubted that the attic only had those four. If it only had those four, why to bother to install an air conditioning system inside of it.

Exactly why? If you were a sane person you didn't need to have your papers, files, and documents to be air-conditioned; moreover with a cadaver. That was not keen.

Not unless the person who installed it was the killer of the late principal. And in order for someone who was always here to not to notice what dark secret laid above the ceiling, an air-con became the wise choice. It helped to veil the decomposed state of the principal up until now.

Just as she became aware that an air conditioning system was there above, she noticed not a few amounts of nitrogen-fixing bacteria roamed the air. Even her laid in the dead body with a puddle of blood, it was like it had been neutralized by something.

Studying more about the scent of the atmosphere, she later learned that an air refresher was the culprit of why the malodorous fragrance was absent from her sense of smell.

Lavender.

That notorious scent was the reason why Principal Keen was nowhere to be found, until this very day.

But with a smell of such like this on air 24/7, required an enormous amount of freshener, that meant: the killer came here regularly to replenish it.

Thinking about that, it made her felt sadden, the world already lost its humanity. It could even stomach the presence of the decomposed body and made an effort for it.

Connecting the dots of event, for reality had everything for support, she would now to land to a conclusion of who killed the principal.

The stockroom, the ceiling, and the fall from heights: it was no other than this Utility Personnel Lance Reyes.

Right he was, who else aside from him? The only reason why he met this end, was that he planned to replenish the aerosol above. But he fell. Sadly. He also was dead.

While the event of the earthquake was still ongoing, she noticed that as she let seconds passed by of not having a plan to egress the facility. She was also making herself a step closer to death.

The ceiling itself was about to collapse, not now but sooner or later, and if that one happened, it was either two possibilities might exist. Both of those wouldn't happen if one already was in existence: she would know what's behind the ceiling, aside from the cadaver, or, she would not.

And what 'she would not' meant, she would die. The second possibility was more likely to happen. For right now, what she noticed about herself, was much calmer than she supposed to react. It was like she was being drugged.

Better word was tranquilized.

She couldn't lift herself, to rose from the bed of dead and walked away. She was being pinned, nailed and fastened way tighter than the ceiling was apparently. And if this one continued to happen as she made every second passed by and by. The more likely her prospect to become true.

The ceiling, by the age of its construction already met its state that needed to be retrofitted, and sadly the day had finally arrived the quake would now to attest its capability of not being able to be retrofitted.

But before what she already thought would happen, something would take place, before the time when the quake stopped-- and so as the electrical distribution was, per se, blackout.

The air-con from above stopped on maintaining the set temperature, by the time it was, the smell of Lavender diminished. More to it, she noticed something, the reason why the ceiling was collapsing, was not about the weight of those papers, files, and documents.

What she saw before everything fell to her, was, different kinds of animals inhabiting the attic. It was like she was dreaming some nonsense thing right after the impact happened to her head.

Her eyes narrowed for aside from the household pet that made their appearances in here, was also, she found some wild animals especially that snake in this stockroom.

Remaining herself transfixed on the stationary snake, she felt something happened to her, thus it made her screamed.
