《Peacekeepers (COMPLETE)》69

We follow the man and he takes us to a window. He opens it, revealing a rainy courtyard, surrounded by brick walls. What is this place? Why was he locked up? Another one of those things come leaping at us. The guy snaps his fingers at the creature and gusts of black wind cut it pieces.
"How'd you?" "Just a skill I've picked up. Over the loops." He walks over to a window and opens it up. Loops? Who is he?
He presses a button and a passageway opens up. Alice whispers, "Can we trust him?" "If we don't follow him, he might kill us." He turns around, "I'm not gonna kill you, relax." We follow him further to another door. He turns around, "Now, whatever happens, run to the exit." He opens the door and he gets dragged out by his foot. "Run!"
Alice and I run in and a giant creature levitates, a giant black mass, resembling what only could mean the end. The end of everything we know. Is he death?
It's booming voice hounds our ears, "How did you get here?!" I raise my gun to that thing, a booming laugh comes from him, "That is merely a peashooter!"
I snarl, "Bite me!" I pull the trigger and lightning pierces him like nothing. I jump, glance at my gun. Was that the gun? Or was it me?! I look up at him, massive red tentacles zoom at us, there's too many.
I turn to find Alice is already running. I look behind me, that man from before holds a sword in hand. He cuts at the tentacles with ease, but some still get through.
"Why is everything purple!?" I turn to her and I fall into a stream of blue lights. Alice reaches out her hand from that dark abyss above. I can't hear her screaming. The portal closes to the point she pulls her hand out.

I gasp awake and run outside, a desert wasteland, like a post apocalyptic world you'd see in movies. Vast factories, a city sanded down by the desert storms. It was all real. I had a life- Alice! I wince as memories fill my head, from this foreign desert world.
I blink and I'm back in the dark abyss. Me, dressed in desert clothing. He snarls, "You aren't taking my life!" "What?" He continues, "It may be a shitty life, but you can't overtake me! Like you did Garvey!" I put out my hands, "Wait, Garvey destroyed mine!" A distant memory comes back to me as I look up into his eyes, "I took over Garvey. When he was young." Why did I forget? Was that even his name? I took him over with ease, then that one day. When everyone went crazy. Someone else was there- that guy we saved back in that tiled room. Oh no.
I sigh, I still need to find Alice, but she could be anywhere. "I'll be dormant inside you, I just need to figure out what has happened."
He opens our eyes and I hear him think, What the hell did I smoke last night? He looks behind our front door and grabs the whiskey bottle. "Good morning old desert life."
I watch through his eyes, taking everything in, everything to help me escape. I need to figure out how to leave this place, back to Alice. I'm sorry- dunno if you're a clone or- anyway, I'm sorry I'll have to one day take over.
