《Peacekeepers (COMPLETE)》64

I gasp in the mirror. I'm an ashen figure with purple light cracking through my skin. I can hear them echoing in my head,
"Hurry up Switch!" Another creature tries pushing the barricaded door. I move past Jess and spray a flame. It squeals away. *I'm trying, there's a lot to connect here!*
I'm fading away. I can feel it, Alice is dying. "Garvey!?" He laughs into existance, "So, you want to finally merge?" I shout, "Do it!" He inches his hand out, "What's the catch?" "I'm in charge, not you." He scoffs, "No deal!" I smirk, "Only deal you got." He grips my hand, "Fine, have your fun."
I can feel Gladius shake me, he glows blue, but it dims as time goes by, "Nick, he's gonna make the nuclear reactor explode!" "Why?" He growls, "He's a terrorist!" Why a reactor, it doesn't make sense. "You did things I can't explain, spill."
"It'd take too long!" I smirk, "Then we lose. I deserve an answer!" He groans, "I'm a failure, Nick. You saw the planets?" I jump, "Those are all galaxies! Void, Ursa, Kaylin, they want to destroy them all." He continues, "You and Alice are my last attempts at saving them from extinction." I can see them again, eight galaxies in the distance.
My palms spark. "I ain't some chosen one!" "But you two are the last humans that can do anything about it." Humans? Eh, doesn't matter. I smirk and knock my knuckles together, "You're an idiot. More will rise up." He smiles, "I hope you're right."
Jess grabs at her chest and runs into the flame as more come into the room. More of the creatures break through. I'm sorry Nick, Norbert, everyone. I really tried to make a difference.

Something zooms across the room and smacks a creature's head into the wall. "Switch, play All in my head, by Whethan." *Playing now.*
Nick turns around and punches through another's skull. "Nick?" He smirks at me, "You're lucky I call the shots, beautiful." He takes my gun and walks me through the halls. "Where are we going?" "To get a booster shot."
Zero stands in our way. He holds his gun up, "I can't stop myself!" I get behind cover, then Nick charges forward. He runs on the wall, then the ceiling. He kicks off the ceiling, shoots him square in the face. He looks back, "Coming?" I sprint behind him. He fills a syringe with- "Purple will kill you!" He smirks, "I'm dying anyway." He injects it and smirks, "We got two choices, kill Kaylin or run." I raise my fist, "You know my answer, Nick." He tosses my gun back.
"Where is Kaylin?" I lead her to a a staircase and we hurry up to the roof. The UM-70 hovers down and we get in, "He's going to blow up a fusion reactor, I'm guessing warheads too. Nuclear war." The pilot yells, "Hell no, I didn't sign up for this shit." He hops out and a monster chases him.
I get in the cockpit, "Hope you're ready." I smile back at her, "I love you, you know that?" "Took you long enough." He grins, "Remember to move on when I'm gone." We start moving towards it. "Not a chance. We're soulmates." I finally get my body back from that thing and- She hugs me from behind, I finally get to feel you, not just see you from the shadows. The thing that saved me and took over, guess it kept me alive somehow in that church. "If only we could just run." She laughs, "What if there's nothing left?" I chuckle, "The things we do for humanity."

Left too long to its own devices, it is a city ruled by degenerate barons, unique in that on the surface, they’re part of the shiny ruling class. Enter the terrorists. The innocent residents will be victims in the crossfire if the last good knight, Colonel Rabb, can’t clear them out of the way in time. Dragonfall
This fiction is based on a short story I wrote inspired by a prompt on r/WritingPrompts. Contrary to my plans, I haven't sketched out the story in detail or written anything ahead of time. I've discovered I don't do well at that. I'm just writing this thing and we'll see where it takes us, OK? Nothing every came easy to Ryan Shakespeare, but as an elite British Army sniper he had found a niche that suited him, right up to the point at which he found himself summoned to a world far from his own to fulfil the job of a champion. Luckily, Ryan arrived with his experimental sniper rifle, so surely killing the dragon and getting his chance to go home would be a simple job, right? But Ryan should have known better, because nothing ever comes easy. Caught up in the politics of the Draconic League, Ryan will need to keep all his wits about him and use every resource at his disposal if he's going to persuade these people to let him do his job and go home.
