"So Engen's gone?" Jess nods. Alice cuts in, "Don't try talking me out of it-" "Crazy, but I say go for it, but we lure him." Jess waves, "Get behind the desk." I chuckle, "Why?" "Kaylin's meeting me today." Alice pulls her gun, "You sell us out!?" Jess rolls her eyes, "I wouldn't warn you if I did." We get behind the desk and the doors bust open. "Jess! Been a while."
"Why'd you destroy Engen? We have a truce!" Something squelches, "That was before I had this." She backs up in her chair, "What the fuck?" He leans over the desk as screams come from outside the room. "Right now, my troops are converting yours to my thrall. I even own the militia now." She is handed a deed. "It's game over, bitch." I lay down on my back as Kaylin reaches for her arm.
Switch, let's hit em where it hurts. We spring up, slamming the desk into him. I land on my feet. He chuckles after he pulls a large splinter out. "Didn't expect you to be here." I raise my fists as a blade pops out his wrist. I take a deep breath and knock my knucles together. I smirk, "Shut the fuck up and try it already!" He gets in a stance.
In a split second, he leaps forward and swipes at my neck. I duck and kick him into the glass window, cracking it. He cleaves down before I kick at his gut. He falls down and cracks the ground below.
Alice covers her mouth, "Oh my god!" I raise both arms, but only one does, "What?" I hear blood drip and look down, my arm's on the ground.

Oh shit. No fucking way. How?! I sit down in the spinny chair "Take off his belt, now!" Jess shouts, "Why's his blood purple?!" Alice takes off my belt and Jess tightens it on what's left. Alice looks down, "Uhh, he's climbing back up." "He's alive after that?!"
After she tightens the belt, she tosses me a grenade. "That'll fuck em up. Just drop it, Alice." I wait till he's about halfway to us and pull the pin. It falls down as Jess rolls the thick desk for cover. "Requesting a UM-70 on the penthouse floor. Peacekeeper is now an enemy!" The grenade forces Kaylin to fall once more. Speakers go off in the building, *You're jammed! Give yourselves up!*
I growl, "Damn it, Zero!" A UM-70 hovers too close to the penthouse. Gladius jumps in through the broken window."How'd you get here so fast?" He limps over, "I just am." He hands me a note, then jumps out the window. I lean over, he cocks back his fist. It reads, "Get him to Genesis Research right now. I'll hold Kaylin off."

REND
In an alternate reality Earth, where a mysterious organization of superhumans fights eldritch horrors taking over people's minds, Erind Hartwell, a first-year law student with psychopathic tendencies and obsessive compulsion to follow an inexplicably arbitrary set of Rules, seemed normal in comparison. And that is what she is going for. Society frowned on different—especially her kind of different. Rule #4, "I wouldn’t bother the world as long as it didn't bother me." Unfortunately, the world bothered Erind's normal life. On the brink of death, an entity came offering powers to save her. Left with no other choice, she accepted it, changing into a new form—the first of many that'll help her survive this dangerous world. REND is a twist on the superpowered human genre combined with eldritch horror, but its main emphasis is character development and exploration, as it is mainly a psychological story. REND offers a unique reading experience. If you're looking for something different from the mainstream, then this story just might provide the experience you didn't know you were looking for. Cover is part of a wallpaper art commissioned from CristianAC. Chapter release every multiple of 5 days (5th, 10th, 15th, etc.) of the month. 10 am Central/ 3pm GMT

The General Core {The Sphere}
The life cycle in the Sphere is on the brink of collapse because one of its elements, the Dungeons, have been exploited too much by the mortals. The group who created the Sphere already tried and failed with several modifications, because the original computer-like dungeon cores are too inflexible to handle changing approaches. So they try another type of solution – taking souls from other worlds to try to find a solution before the Sphere Cycle breaks down completely. The General was one of the best soldiers of his world, rising from the ranks of a private through Officer School to the highest command with honors. But when his world faced a zombie apocalypse, even that was not enough and he had to make the ultimate sacrifice. Now he is asked for a repeat performance of planning and controlling a dungeon and its spawns in a world that he knows nothing about… But what is the Sphere really? What is that [Xenotic conversion] he has to go through to even enter the Sphere? Something is really strange and he will have to find out what is going on to get to his promised rewards – whatever they will be. Being a soul in a dungeon core means that the General has better chances of finding hints to the truth about the sphere – a knowledge that would help him survive. And no, the sphere is NOT a virtual reality – the key to its secrets is the place where it was physically constructed (Author’s hint). This is a dungeon core story - but there are quite a number of things that I will do differently than common to those stories. 1) I will describe the floors when they are explored, NOT when they are build. Yes, that will mean it will take longer to get to those parts - but I think describing floors both when they are build and when they are explored destroys quite a lot of chances for suspense when adventurers enter the dungeon. After all, if you as the reader already know where the traps are, then you can't really be surprised when the surfacers encounter them. 2) How the world works (and how not) is an integral part of the story, so it will be explained I'm a world-builder first and the Sphere is NOT a regular world (as hinted in the synopsis above). Things will work differently than in your 08/15 default dungeon core stories - as the General and Gunny have already learned in the second arc (and more of that is already scheduled for the next weeks (July/Aug 2019) when the Sky Arrows continue to explore and evaluate that strange dungeon) If you don't like these premises, then I'm sure you'll find a lot of other Dungeon Core stories more to your liking. But if you are interested in more than "Dungeon builds another room and corridor in medieval earth" and are not afraid of a longer and slower story, then go on. I have two more stories in the Sphere, although they both have lower priority than this one: Shaleen the Wanderer (Adventurer, NSFW) (currently on hold after some chapters) Info's on the Sphere (System Docu and Short Stories) (irregular updates when needed) Current Status reports have been moved to a new discord server: https://discord.gg/EaHkXCfm9y
