Zero shouts, "Medic!" "I'm fine." Zero drags me to the medic's truck. I raise my arms and the medic takes off my shirt.
"How are you even alive?" I smile, "No one has broken me more than myself." "Wait! You're that idiot that ran in without backup!"
I pressed my lips and shrug, "Yup." "Jean" I grab her hand and she almost crushes mine before shaking it. "Bolt." Tango slowly crawls in with us and gawks at my chest. "All those cuts." Jean shoves a rag into her hands, "Stick him." "Me?!"
I smirk and cover my eyes with the back of my elbow, "Come on Tang, I'm in immense pain." She jams the rag in my cut. It's like she poured lemon juice on my cuts. Jean puts on a grin, "How do you deal with this cocky idiot?" Tango covers her smile with her hand, "Just barely." Zero opens a slit behind me, "We're about to go." "So, you wanna help 'heal' him?
They both douse a cloth in alcohol and grin at each other as my groan leaves, looking up at the roof, "Fuck m-" They both grab a handle and slam the doors shut.
"We're here Bolt." I groan, "I'm still mad at you two." Jean yells at me, "Get out, I gotta pick up another idiot!" "I'll
be out a minute." Jean drags me by my arms onto the floor and then lowered me just out the truck. She singsongs before slamming the doors shut, "Bye!"
The truck drives off, "You still mad at me?" I raise my hand, "Not if you help me up, too tired." Zero marches up, "Grab an arm, Tango." After they raise me up, Zero sneers, "Have fun showering tonight." "I can't even stand."

He laughs, "Well I'm not holding you up." I groan and almost puke at the thought, "Why would you even imagine
it?" "I didn't!" I smile and squint at him, "Why? Am I not pretty enough?" "What the fuck did Jean give him?" Tango turns to Zero, "Something that'll put him out in a few-"
He goes limp and his legs give up, making him fall on his face, "Minutes..." I giggle, "Jean really hates him." Zero crosses his arms, "Don't we all?" I stare down at him and say softly, "Yeah." We both grab an arm and drag him all the way to the med bay.
A doctor helps us get him up on a bed. Zero taps me on the back, "I'm glad you guys are okay." "Thanks Zero,
means a lot." He scratches his head before yawning, "I gotta get some sleep, see ya tomorrow." "Tango? Got a bed for you too." I hop in and get comfortable. Looking up at the ceiling, I wonder why everyone seems to hate him. He's really kind.

Ashes of the Primordial
With the upcoming shutdown of the servers for Ragnarok Games’ deep dive VRMMO, ‘Ashes of the Primordial’, the player log of those online for the final night was depressingly empty-looking. A revolutionary level of realism drove Ashes to the forefront of the games market, billions of players enjoying their journey to power and glory as an avatar of their own creation. The final enemy of the game-world defeated, the company announced, in line with their stance from launch, that they would be shutting down the game exactly six months after the defeat of Sutr, the final boss. Ammanas, the player responsible for Sutr's defeat, stays online until the end. However, as the countdown hits 0, the start-hub of his dive rig (what would typically greet a forced ejection from a game) was no where to be seen and instead darkness greets him as he fades into unconsciousness. Awakening to unfamiliar sights in an unfamiliar body, one which turns out to be a lot more familiar than he first thought, now he must figure out where, how, why and what to do with the new world he finds himself in. Author note: I don't own the cover, just something found through a google search. This is also my first story and the MC will basically be unimaginably OP yet never really utilising his full power. He just wants to find somewhere to fit in to the new world he finds himself in and despite both his nature as a loner and his interests he will find himself forming connections with the denizens of this new realm. Hope you enjoy

A Long Refrain
September, in the Continuate: For most students living in the Third Division, the month's arrival usually means the start of a new school year. But not so for one particular freshman, whose first month at college seems to never end—literally. Set during the 20th year of the nation's Rectification Era, A Long Refrain follows Melody Quick’s attempts to escape from the month-long time loop she's found herself trapped in. Her journey, which starts in the capital city of Somnhaven, will take her across the vast expanse of land once known as Circadia, whose forgotten histories, ancient secrets and eccentric inhabitants could hold the key to discovering the true nature of the loop and the role she herself plays within it. However, the more she learns, the more cruel truths she must face: Will she really be able to handle the awful reality behind the loop, and all that it entails? And will those very same answers she's found be enough to not only break her free from the loop, but to also protect the people she holds dear? (A-and from what, exactly ...?)
