《The Undeniable Labyrinth》Chapter Five: It's taking to long!

Alarmed – Althea turned, looking, searching – straining for the source of the sound. Glittering frost was falling from the vaulted ceiling high overhead. The rumbling changed into low splintering, cracking noise coming from above – no – it was coming from all around! Panicking, she stabbed repeated startup sequences on the unresponsive control board with her, again, cold-numbed fingers.
They had to reactivate the portal, regardless of the risk.
“Dorian, access the core system. Start up the portal! Do it now!”
That would be dangerous. There is still a significant risk the Macro–
–had a thread into the control system. It didn’t matter; they had to get out of here. The power surge created by her arrival must have damaged the frozen port’s delicate structural balance. Above her, the decades’ worth of ice that had built up was splintering apart. There was no time – no time at all!
“The whole port is beginning to collapse!” she shouted. “The ice is breaking apart. If we don’t get out of here now we’ll be buried!”
So intent on the controls, discovering where she’d transited to, she hadn’t even thought to pay any attention to what was happening in the chamber around her.
A monstrous crack of thunder reverberated through the still air.
“Now, Dorian. Now!”
The control fields shifted achingly slowly, board indicators flickered back and forth. Althea jumped in shock as a chunk of ice several times her size shattered on the floor just a five from her, the impact spraying her frost and slivers. Quick glances up told her that blocks as big as that one, larger were breaking loose, about to fall.
It’s taking too long!
Activating… activating. The circuits have been cut. Neither the primary nor the secondary are responding.
“Reroute,” she commanded. “There have to be redundant systems somewhere here. There are always–”

Several control panels went dark.
“Dorian!”
Parts of the frozen vault above, progressively – frighteningly larger – were falling now, and not just ice; chunks of the port’s structure were crashing down as well. Althea stared upwards, praying that the whole vault above wasn’t going to collapse on her before the portal re-activated.
The system has ceased. I cannot re-activate the portal.
She gaped at the board in disbelief, stabbed at the flickering interfaces in desperation.
I’m sorry.
Another thunderous crack, louder than before, reverberated around her. She glanced upwards, eyes widening in terror. The NANs in her body, now commanded by her overriding fear, tripped her perceptions up into overdrive, slowing everything around her to a perceptual crawl.
The falling blocks floated down towards her with glacial slowness. She could move, and move fast, but there was nowhere to run, nowhere safe she could reach. She had failed to reactivate the portal and any other exit was too far away. A vast section of the ceiling was separating, splintering – falling in massive pieces, straight down towards her.
“Oneness,” she forced out in a harsh whisper.
The spell broke, and she fell to her knees, lifting her arms up to block out the horrifying sight.

In the Naruto world (1)
Chris Walker was teleported to the world of Naruto. He didn't die, rather someone or something teleported him there for no apparent reason. (Or did he?) The world of Naruto doesn't follow the same script as the original Naruto series. The whole world of Naruto is so much different, even though Chris has watched the entire naruto series, it won't help him at all since everything in Naruto is different. And now Chris has to survive in this new world of Naruto I do not have any rights to the Naruto or the cover either, this is only a hobby to write fan-fiction light novels. WARNING: If you hate harem, then this novel isn't for you. There will never be any sexual content in this novel. And i'll try my best to not let the harem ruin this novel. There are potentially only 5 harem members on it, NO MORE THAN THAT AMOUNT. And yes, I am sorry for not keeping my word for this novel, and included a harem in it. I didn't want it either, because it means more work for me. But I did a poll and harem won. I am sorry for that, and please forgive me. This novel also includes OP mc, for those who don't like OP Mc's. And this also includes light Sasuke and Sakura bashing, only in the early part of the story, but then changes after. And this also includes more characters. Sincerely, Lodoly.

Lawman follows the exploits of Relovan, a Human Police Enforcer stationed on the BlargonianPlanets – a series of small planets on which pure Essence is mined, and refined into fuel. On hisday off, he finds himself and his fellow Enforcers caught up in a fight between two Void Lords, beings of immense power, who answer only to the Council, after the pair of Void Lords touchdown on the Station, seeking to refuel their respective Void Walkers. In the ensuing clash,Relovan punches above his weight and subdues a number of Void Knights – those in the serviceof the Void Lords – before becoming directly involved in the confrontation between the VoidLords themselves. His performance during the incident catches the attention of the current PoliceChief, Nura, who essentially takes him under his wing, and assists him in various ways, including when he is summoned to answer before the Council for getting involved in the spatbetween the two Void Lords. The book ends after the conclusion of the Hearing.Relovan is a stickler for the Law – something that prompted him to learn not only the laws ofvarious territories and planetary systems, but also the native languages and customs, so as touphold the law as best he can. As a highly trained, and immensely skilled former soldier,Relovan’s abilities along with his latent talent regarding the use of Essence, allow him to hangwith beings infinitely more powerful than him.
