Lyndon thought was short and will unlikely to remember this moment but this will be the beginning of him controlling his own fate.

Lyndon grabbed his arms and began to drag him away from the danger. Mayson and Disc did not have time to care about those two. And the jackals was to busy defending their current food that they did not mind that Lyndon and Michael were escaping.

When Lyndon was dragging Michael, he did not have any destination in mind and only focused on being far away as possible. The partial numbness from his body gradually let up and he was able to continue to push himself through the woods. Half an hour passed, then an hour and then few hours passed that eventually, the sky blanketed with darkness as the stars filled the sky.

He never stopped moving until he could not and collapsed from exhaustion. His arms quickly flopped to his side as he knees caved to the ground.

"Uwaaah, Uwaah!" Lyndon brawled as he laid on the ground. Evermore, he did not think that something could hear him. He seems to completely forget that they were in a dangerous situation.

He kept crying until he tired himself out to sleep. The silent night surrounding them as the moonlight illuminates the wood without a shroud of clouds to be seen in the sky.

Hours passed until the sun began to rise over the horizon. Michael woke up to find himself in pain.

"Ouch, what happened?" Michael tapped his back to where the pain was accumulating at. When he touched it, a sharp sting shook his whole body.

"That hurt!" He exclaimed. He looked around and saw Lyndon and then he turned around and saw the grass and dirt that was in a way that showed something clearly was dragged on it.

"That idiotic baby." Michael knew that Lyndon dragged him without care, thus, injuring him in the process. There were abrasions on his back from dragging him for hours across an uneven terrain. It was long enough that it might even leave scars in the future. Although the poisonous mist numbed some of the pain, in passing time, the pain will be greater.

"I should just him to die. He will not be able to survive in the future. It is better for him to die here so he can save himself from grief." Michael was only eleven years, but the way he thinks was logical yet cruel. Despite being young, he must have picked it up such way of thinking from someone else.

He began to walk away, however, he hesitated to go any further. "Fortune within misfortune. Luck within ignorance." He murmured to himself as he recalled someone.

He gave a short sigh. "Fine, since you saved me, I will wait for you to wake up. But no promises after that." Michael rests near a tree as he looked at Lyndon sleeping peacefully before he closed his eyes.

Realizing that he was safe from danger, he slept a little bit longer.
