Chapter Nine: June
“Ahhhhh, they passed it to white number 9!” The announcer said as he tapped the table with all his force.
The girls on the bleachers shrieked.
Tch, can’t they see that we are already losing this game…?
“There are only twenty seconds left on this game! And the score is 70-73. Would 3-Andrew make it to the finals!?” The other announcer shouted.
I know, I know… I’ll just have to make the shot, right? He thought as he is dribbling the ball. He was looking around. Tch, no one is free. “Guys, move!” He shouted.
They guy marking him is as tall as him. Maybe taller than him by a few inches. He’s wearing a black Spurs jersey. The guy smirked at him with his ugly face. I’ll crush that smile off of your face. You’ll see. He made a fake three. That didn’t work on the guy who’s marking him. I see. So he made a fake spin to the left then spun to the right. He was so quick that the guy marking him was left behind.
“Ginobli was left behind!!” The announcer said.
“In the end we’re calling him Ginobli!? Even though he doesn’t play like him?!”
Shut up!!!
He jumped from the paint as if he was about to dunk.
“OIIII!! LOOK AT THIS!!! NUMBER 9 IS GOING TO DUNK!!”
No one was on him. He was all alone. Even though he is tall, he knew that he could never make a dunk. But he dreamed of it, every night. If Sakuragi and Kagami could do it even though their just high school students, I could do it too... but they’re not real. So the answer is no…
Reality is different. He couldn’t do it. His jump was short. Way too short. So he just released the ball and it spun towards the ring.
“It’s actually a teardrop, you idiot.” The other announcer corrected him.
“I see. It went in. The score now is 72-73. Section Mark is still on the lead leaving Section Andrew a one point gap”
“Guys reset! Let’s just kill the remaining time!” The guy wearing a black jersey with the number 19 said.
“No you don’t!” A guy from afar answered.
“Ten seconds!!” The announcer said.
The moment the ball was passed, the guy wearing a white Seirin uniform with the number 11 on it stole the ball from number 67 out of nowhere. The guys in black were already on the other side for defense.
“JUUUNE!!!” He passed it to white number 9 which is on the outside of the three point line.
I’ll wipe those smiles on your fucking faces!!! He thought as drove inside. Black 19 marked him.
“Five seconds!”
I know!! He thought as he is thinking of a way to win the game. He played late in the game because their stupid “coach” benched him. Making me do the hard work… making me clean the mess you’ve made… He dribbled between his legs, stepped back and faked a shot. If you just let me in on the first quarter, this shouldn’t have happened. Black 19 jumped. That’s when he took a shot. The moment he released the ball, his body met Black 19’s making both of them fall on the ground. The referee’s whistle was heard. That moment, the ball rolled on the basket for a while.

It would go in. June said with confidence.
”And it went in!!! A chance for a three point play!”
The girls shrieked again.
“This number 9 is really great!”
“Of course! Don’t you know that he was part of the varsity team last year?”
“I do remember him now!” And you just noticed? What are you guys? Stupid or something?
“Nice shot, June.” The guy in Seirin number 11 said as he made a fist.
“I know, Carl.” June answered as he bumped his fist with Carl’s.
June made the free throw and the game ended with the score of 75-73 and giving section Andrew their win and securing their seat on the finals.
“June…” A girl in uniform called with a white towel in hand.
She had long hair with full bangs, has a pretty face and a perfect body that a lot of recruiting agency had offered her to be their company’s model. She rejected them all though.
“Thanks, Jessie.” He took the towel and wiped the sweat on his face. Faraway, he saw a familiar girl.
The moment their eyes met, the girl walked away.
“Jessie, I’ll buy us some drinks.” He said as he chased the girl.
“Liar.” She whispered to herself. “Your money is in your bag.”
Atleast say ‘Hi’... June thought as he ran. He left the court and went to the plaza where the girl went. There he saw her. Sitting on the bench next to the tree where they used to hangout. But those are just memories now.
“Did you enjoy the game?” June asked.
“I was rooting for my section, you know.” Keiren answered.
June sat next to her and stared at her face.
“Creepy.” Keiren said.
“You’re the only girl who tells me that.” Not cute at all.
“You’re probably thinking of how cute I am, aren’t ya?”
“Disgusting.” June rolled his eyes like a girl.
“You still do that?” Keiren laughed. “You’re like a gay guy.”
“I’m only playing basketball so that I can touch the butt of cute guys.”
Keiren laughed harder. “You still say that same joke.”
June remembered the time when the three of them, him, Matthew and Keiren used to be talking on the same spot when they were second years. Matthew and June were on the varsity team and competing for the Inter High. Keiren would always show up with drinks in hand. It always made June’s heart skip a couple of beats every time their eyes met. As if the two of them were the only ones who is living on the planet. Until she stares at Matthew with those warm and longing eyes of her. And it pains him the most because Matthew could care less for the girl that she likes. He doesn't talk to Keiren much and he also forgot that they were classmates last year. Knowing that, June felt angry for Matthew more since he doesn't care about the girl that he treasures most.

“It’s just that… we didn’t have time to talk so I already forgotten that I already told you that.” He smiled.
He looked at the plaza. It was filled with students, kids playing on the swing and the slide, couples talking, a few third year and fourth year students and memories. There were the familiar trees and lamps that lights when the night comes, the statue of Jose Rizal in the middle and a flagpole next to it. June felt like he could still see the whole place if he close his eyes.
“What happened between with you and Matthew?” He asked.
Keiren stayed silent. Like she wanted to cry. She always wanted to cry though. Her small eyes squinted more and was slowly watering and June knew that it is his cue to stop.
“Hey…” June wanted to lighten the mood. “You know we could just grab some-“
Before he knew it, Jessie was already in front of them holding two cups of pineapple juice.
“I know.” Jessie said. “He always make girls cry over him, you know.” She smiled as she handed her the cup of juice. “He makes me cry too.”
“No, thanks.” Keiren kindly refused.
“Please?” Jessie used her smile and eyes that no one could possibly refuse. It’s like a real life cheat code.
Keiren took the cup and smiled faintly. She felt like she was being forced to drink it by some force that isn’t known yet by this universe. After having small talk with her Keiren left.
“Still flirting to your dream girl, I see.” Jessie smiled. And you could actually feel an evil aura emanating at the back of her hair.
“N-No...” That’s all the June could muster.
“I guess I could never beat her.” She then flicked his forehead. “Take me home already. I’m bored.”
“Okay, okay.”
They took a fifteen minute ride on a trike. The two of them didn’t let a single word out of their mouths. Rather, they didn’t even know what to say to each other. Jessie just rested her head on June’s shoulder, like she always did.
After fifteen minutes, they arrived. June stared at Jessie’s house. It was a normal looking house that their family bought. Jessie is one of those ‘middle class’ family type of girls.
“My parents aren’t home yet.” Jessie smiled.
“I see. Then that means I can come over right?” June asked.
“Sadly…” she placed her right index finger on his lips. “…my little sister is here, lover boy.”
“Then I’ll see you tomorrow then...” He said without a speck disappointment. He is used to it.
“Unless…” Her smile seemed brighter this time. “Would you promise that you’ll keep quiet?”
And so, the two of them entered Jessie’s room. And to his surprise he found Jessie’s little sister playing in her room with her doll. And it was a creepy looking one. Like one of those movies where a little girl would get possessed by the evil spirit living inside it.
“Jaimie, to your room. NOW.” Jessie said.
Little Jaimie followed her and took her doll with her and grinned at June. He smiled at her. Does she know what the two of us were doing when we are on her sister’s room? He asked himself.
The moment Jaimie left the room, Jessie closed the door and took her black panties with a red ribbon off and threw it at June’s face. He caught it at mid-air.
“I don’t feel like it today.” June said.
“A lot of guys wanted to fuck me and then you’re refusing me today?” She smirked.
“Have them fuck you then.” He frowned. “Let’s just talk.”
“You want to see me having sex with other guys? What kind of fetish is that?” She raised her left eyebrow. “Give me my panties back.” She grinned.
He threw her black panties at her. She didn’t caught it though.
“How old is she?” June asked.
“Twelve.” Jessie answered as she was taking off her uniform. “Why? Are you starting to be a pedophile? Is that why you don’t want to fuck me anymore?” Jessie laughed hard at her own joke as she picked her panties on the floor and wore them. “Want me to call her for a threesome?”
“For Christ’s sake, God, no.” I just want to know what happened to Keiren…
“I think you should go home.” Jessie took a pair of black shorts and a white fitted shirt. She wore the shorts first. “You’re probably tired from the game.”
“I guess I should…” Before he could even reach the door, Jessie hugged him from behind with just her shorts and her bra. Her huge tits were pressing unto June, making him smile.
Jessie bit his right ear and then whispered her usual words of love. “I love you no matter what.”
“I know.” He smiled.
“Even though you love her.” She hugged him tighter.
“I know…” He said filled with guilt. “And I’m sorry.”
“Don’t be, my love.” She bit his right ear once again. And this time, it bled.
