《Magic is Power》Chapter 6

A small boy's hands and his face was covered in chocolate. He was eating while watching the television.
A male news reporter was standing in front of a dungeon gate.
“We have been told that the raid is about to start in a few minutes”
Many common civilians surrounded the dungeon gate, they looked like ants surrounding a drop of honey. The military had to install barriers to not let anyone get closer. Moreover, Several armed soldiers were present.
The news reporter pointed towards the dungeon gate and continued speaking
“This is humanity's time to hunt the monsters, I have been informed that the Hunters will be here any moment ”
The news reporter looked around for any signs.
The boy had finished eating the chocolate, he then looked at his mother beside him. She was also watching the television, she smiled and patted her son's head.
This family like many others around the world was watching. This was the first time that people would step inside the gate. The entire world was watching the United States. They were the first to take the risk of sending people inside a dungeon, some would refer to it as a pivotal point in history.
A black van drove up close to the crowd. Several armed men rushed towards this van and opened the door, and they immediately bowed to the three people walking out of the van.
First a man walked out with short blond hair and a large shiny blue shield. He was dressed in all white. Then a woman with a very cold expression walked out, she had a large sword attached to her waist. Not so long after, a middle aged man wearing black shorts and a shirt walked out.
Many reporters took notice and rushed in with their large cameras. Several armed men held the reporters at a distance away from the three people
A reporter shouted
“Sir Hunters ! The entire world is watching you, what do you have to say? !”
Brandon glanced over at the reporter and smiled. He then lifted his fist.
“We will win !”
Many people in the crowd cheered after that remark. Several reporters were busy capturing this moment.

The three people walked towards the dungeon gate. Everyone had held their breath. This was the moment everyone was waiting for.

Gray walked out of the hospital building.
“Finally, I can move around now”
Gray’s progress was at a standstill because he was forced to act like his arm was broken. Would anyone suspect Gray if he revealed he was an awakened person? Probably not, awakened people were unusual, it wouldn't be impossible to find that their bodies recover unusually fast.
But Gray was cautious.
“Even though that's probably the case for every awakened person, I still think its unusual”
First of all, when he had woken up 12 hours after the accident his entire body had recovered.
Although this was unusual, he believed it might be an awakened person's passive ability.
But, there was a problem.
Gray had cut a small wound on his hand, it had healed in 20 seconds. This led Gray to a conclusion.
“This ability is too impressive, I really don’t believe that this is common to every awakened person”
This is why Gray had chosen to stay at the hospital and act. Some would say he was too cautious and overthinked everything. However, this was also a good trait.
“Now, I can move around freely”
What was Gray going to do first? It was to find an answer to a question that was on his mind during these past few days. However, for that he would need to clear a dungeon. Gray immediately opened his phone and checked the news to see the closest dungeon gate near him.
"5th Avenue, it's about 10 minutes away"
--
[You have entered the dungeon]
All three of them saw this message. It was dark, it took a few moments for their eyes to adjust.
Although it was hard to see more than 15 meters in front of you, there was an astronomical amount of luminescent rocks scattered about the cave. These rocks created a source of light, just like a bright moon would reflect the sun's light.
The middle aged man picked up a single shiny light blue rock off the floor.
[Magic Measuring Stone]

Item type: Stone

A stone used to measure the magic.
“Magic Measuring stone?”
The middle aged man put the stone in his inventory and started to collect more off the floor. Brandon took notice and immediately asked.
“Hey ! What are you doing mate?”
The middle aged man gave no reply. He stumbled across a rock that was different than the others, it was a darker shade of blue.
[Mana Crystal]
Rating: E
Item type: Crystal
A crystal that contains some magic.
“Interesting”
He continued to collect the stones and crystals. Brandon became agitated and started walking towards him.
“Oye, Old lad !”
Yura stopped Brandon half way, she had no expression.
The middle aged man finally took notice and put his hand over his head and smiled.
“Sorry, let's continue”
The three of them continued to walk forward very cautiously, they walked slowly to hear any sounds and covered each other.
Brandon was standing at the front with his shield, Yura was beside him holding her sword and the middle aged man had taken a fighting stance and was covering their backs.
Brandon was especially nervous, he was sweating.
They slowly kept moving like this for about 5 minutes.
Brandon stumbled across a small spider. He instantly looked down and killed it by stepping on it.
“Anything but spiders !”
Brandon looked ahead, what he saw next scared him more than anything.
Gulp
“Ahhhh- the-there are really large spiders !” Bradon shouted
Yura looked forward, a large number of large spiders with red eyes were staring at them, their bodies almost the size of an average human. They were creepy.
[Giant Spider]
The middle aged man hit Brandon on his back harder than necessary, Bradon came to his senses.
Bradon moved forward with his shield.
The plan was fairly simple, Brandon would act as a tank for the team while Yura would deal damage to the monsters. The middle aged man was to act as support during any critical moments.
The spiders moved towards the group in a frenzy, some of them opened their mouths, revealing their teeth.
A spider at the front of the group smacked Brandons shield, it instantly broke.
“Wha- how?!”
How come that shield had broken so easily? It didn't make sense.
The middle aged man took note that Brandon was caught off guard. The only thing that had provided him confidence to fight was that shield, he had a deep fear of spiders.
The man moved forward and kicked a spider, the spider instantly blew apart. A red liquid splattered on the three of their faces.
Brandon was already facing his fear, and now this. It was over his capacity. He was now in no shape to fight, he couldn't move and started vomiting.
Yura was still calm, she stepped in front of Brandon.
The middle aged man was now leading the raid, just like that the group was in a critical situation, their entire formation had broken apart. It seemed that this raid was going to fail.
However, the middle aged man charged forward and used his skills to dodge and attack the spiders.

He was making it look easy. Just like that he had taken of a large chunk of the spiders. Yura then moved forward as the man started to take rest, he had bad stamina.
Yura swung her sword towards a spider, the sword broke.
First it was Brandon's shield and now Yura's sword. Any other person would be horrified in this situation and lose their mind, how can they beat these things without any weapons?
However, this was Yura, an individual who had the highest overall stats from all the people the government had selected. Thomas Filler had even considered to not send such a valuable person in the dungeon, but Yura expressed her interest.
Yura didn't flinch and instead rushed towards the spiders, she used gymnastics to move around beautifully as she kicked and punched the spiders. It was like a dance.
The middle aged man regained his breath before he joined Yura in the fight. Both of them cleared all the spiders in a matter of 10 minutes.

Free Your Mind
A journey through the mind can be a mixture of the good, the bad, the pure, and the evil. Free Your Mind is a collection of poems and short stories that I've written over the years. As of now, this book is still in progress, but I've planned to release at least 25 to 30 chapters minimum for Free Your Mind. Hopefully you enjoy reading through the works already published for this book, and I hope you'll stick around for what's to come in the future. If you have any comments, ideas, critiques, etc. please let me know! I'm always open to what people have to say about my work. Free Your Mind is a way for me to dabble into releasing my writings for the public to read. And hopefully, if all goes decent with this book, I'll continue to upload different works alongside this. Note: Currently the cover work for Free Your Mind isn't mine. I plan to upload an original design once I've completed the chapters for this book.

THIRTEEN (Evie's Perspective)
This is the 2003 movie, Thirteen, told from the perspective of Evie Zamora. We got Tracy's point of view, but what about Evie? Why did she do the things she did?I've seen a few different interpretations of Evie's perspective and I decided to give it a go. This is how I think Evie thought and the reasons behind why she did the things she did. This is NOT canon, just a fanfiction, and I am not affiliated with Thirteen or Catherine Hardwick in any way.
