Chapter 14
Zeil arrived at the reception with the Ygdrain’s. He learned a lot of their culture and where they came from. True to their ancestries the Ygdrains were born on the planet at the core of the solar system. In other words. The seed that birthed Yggdrasil in the beginning. It was known in their native tongue as ‘Valkai vittai’ known to all in the universe in common as Seed of life. It was famous for as long as the seed existed the planets around the seed would continue to be nourished by Yggdrasil .
Yggdrasil itself was unusual because unlike a normal plant. In which the seed would split, and the roots would burrow into the earth for nourishment. Yggdrasil at the moment of birth ascended the dimension it was born into and cut itself off from the birth seed. Perhaps it was a moment of consciousness from Yggdrasil’s intelligence, but it preserved the seed and burrowed its roots into alternative dimensions.
At the moment of its birth several dimensions ceased to exist. At the time, many civilisations thought that the universe would collapse. However, what Yggdrasil in avertedly did was stabilise its birth dimension. Unlike Zeil’s former lives, space wasn’t and still isn’t infinite in this universe. Its neighbouring dimensions were expanding too quickly, and the life force of the universe was depleting from starvation.
The birth of Yggdrasil created a guardian for its birth dimension and allowed its home dimension to attain more sustenance. But in turn it increased hostilities with beings from alternate dimensions.
The Ygdrain’s were a source of respect and hatred from a multitude of races. Their relationship with Yggdrasil made them a respected race in their birth dimension. However, outside of their home dimension many beings sought to destroy them.
For Ygdrains leaving their home dimension were a source of respect. Because it was the difference between being treated as a youngling and being treated as an elder. In the Ygdrain’s Civilisation all elders had the power and the abilities to destroy continents at the minimum. This was because in leaving their home dimension there was an assurance of entering war with the hostile races. Those who survived at minimum when they came back were strong enough to ascend to the ranks of Elder’s.

Draje told Zeil that he and Gloi chose the path of the hunter to train themselves for leaving their dimension. He never specified to Zeil how many elders that his race had. However, he quickly told Zeil there was no race that existed in their home dimension that could withstand the Ygdrains at full force. In fact, he quickly added that they were a contender for one of the top 50 races in strength in all known dimensions. And Yggdrasil itself was known to be in the top 30 beings that existed in the greater multiverse.
While contemplating these knew found facts
The proctor from before showed up and he addressed the group “you’re all here on time. Good. Now that your all hunters. You deserve at least a modicum of respect. So, you have earned the right to know my name”
He paused and then his presence grew larger and his eyes started to glow
“My name is Rogre of the Kalai tribe. I am a 2 star iridium hunter also known as high rank to the civilians outside. I was given the epithet ‘the titans axe’”
He dropped his axe and said
“and I don’t need to tell you why”
He then relaxed and his presence reduced
“the proficiency test that you just did. Tested your stamina and your basic combat abilities. Now as a hunter you will pick a monster or beast from your id cards and hunt it down within a time limit. As new hunters, I’m not expecting much.”
He then paused and took a breath “However, remember regardless of how fast you kill the monster. The quality of the corpse is an integral part of the test. If you do not bring the monster back within the time limit excluding monsters above my stage. Your beginning rank will be capped to bronze, 3 star”

He pointed at the receptionist
“Once you give the receptionist your cards. Your class proficiency test will immediately begin. As Beginners you will be teleported to a vicinity of 100km around the target. It’s up to you do the rest”
He then turned and began walking away. Suddenly he stopped and he turned around
“ I forgot something”
He grinned and then said
“your cards have a sort of life saving system that can be used once every 3 months so If you’re in a bind say the words ‘Vēṭṭaiyāṭi’ and it will immediately cancel your test and teleport you back to the guild.”
“There’s more info inside your cards on the consequences of doing that”
He then turned around and walked away one last time.

The Pen Is Mightier
This story is in the process of being rewritten and has big chunks missing. If you're interested in it, please follow for alerts regarding release updates. I'm aiming to finishing the first to books in the series before I start putting them on Royal Road and expect to release in late March or early April.
8 92I'm Just the Librarian
Thea is the daughter of a landless baronet whose love for books resulted in her becoming a librarian in the library for commoners in the Elourian Empire's capital. When her homeland becomes the epicenter for people mysteriously gaining unique skills, she remains on the sidelines and skill-less for a decade, but that all changes when the reason for those skills walks right into her quiet little library--with a whole lot of trouble in his wake.Follow this tale of a skillful book lover as she protects what she loves, builds relationships she never expected to have, and smashes former gods into the ground. She may achieve great things, but she's still "just the librarian." This story is more on the lighthearted side, but there are some scenes with violence and possibly gore. Content warnings will accompany chapters with sensitive topics or descriptions. Those scenes should be read at the reader's discretion. [Updates will be starting back up soon! (Note added 5/13/2022)]
8 151Flame Beneath The Snowfall
Alto is a world governed by Tones. Magic, as one might call it. Manifested through deep mental and physical conditioning, one can control the Tones in a way that is unique to them. The power to store items in gems, transfer life, affect a person's mind, and even the more primal abilities such as control of the elements. Those who have these supernatural abilities are called 'Vassals.' People that fully manifest their abilities are not as common as one might think, and not all Vassals acquire their ability through practice, given if conditions are met. In fact, those who had received much trauma manifest the Tones more frequently, albeit spontaneously. However, the rare kind of Vassals are those who manifest it from childhood. A gift, but not without its repercussions. Alto is stuck in a transitional era, where the line between modern and dated technology is blurred. One can travel to a city that has a tall skyline, bustling with people in sophisticated clothing, or a mere town governed by a lord, all the while riding on a powered vehicle. Cultures vary: Some turn to the more dated practices such as castes, others are more inclined to set equal footing on their people, led by nobility. Some are dedicated to become scholars, studying Alto's Tones, while others set foot on hunts, protecting lone towns from the creatures of some of the still-untamed lands. And the Vassals? Those willing are took under The Organization, an elusive group, its presence said to permeate all throughout Alto, taking care of Rogue Vassals that abuse their abilities and other businesses related to their side. But what is this story all about, you may ask? Well, set your sights on the upper portions of this huge landmass that is Alto. Yes, the 'whole' world is called Alto, but that is because the majority of the known people live on this large continent. Relieve yourself of the worrying tensions everywhere, and see the white snow. Trace the piercing mountaintops and focus your eyes between the valley. A town sits there. Mido. After realizing that the memories only left in his mind was the night of his town's imminent destruction in flames, a boy finds himself grasping for every fiber of his life as he lays down flat on the ground. Beneath him was soot mixed with the white snow. Fortunately, a group of investigators, who were supposed to answer their call for help, saved him from his sorry state. With a newfound second wind, but hampered by his loss of memory, he must solve his own case: Who had the audacity to set Mido, his town, aflame? Flame Beneath the Snowfall focuses on action, with a sense of adventure, but mostly the discovery of an outside world, and the protagonist's exposure to it. Add in a whisk of soft magical elements, and you get a story that I hope will be interesting to the readers. That is not to say that my work is without the sense of unnerving atmosphere, however. As a forewarning, there are elements of gore, horror, minor elements of mental trauma, etc. so it is not for all audiences. *The book is already completed. Although I have plans to continue the story (it would have to involve much larger scope in terms of world-building), I have yet to decide when to start the next entry.
8 117Life is Feudal
No OP stuff, status bars, levels or skills. This story is in favour of more realistic setting in a world of humans and various monsters. "Behind the mask of the assertive, resolute facade that employs ruthless routes at any given moment, lies the frail, anxious heart that were once but a puny human. Reviled and revered by many, none would ever know my true allegiance lies within myself, merely trying to survive this mess." Just the life of a grumpy man child living in a terrible piece of shit or a desolate state in which I call an alternate historical take on medieval Europe. Living as a peasant who is forced to take up arms to defend his own kin. This story grants an insightful take on the life of people living under constant danger, from vying nobles who commit atrocities in the name of justice, eager nations and barbarians aiming to take a piece of the bountiful land and mythical divine monsters who resembles a walking catastrophe in any possible way. [If you're easily offended by alternate-history religion and cultural practices, then you shouldn't read this.]
