《Cultivation Bug Fuyo》Chapter 20 - Yellow Orb of Energy

"True Spirit realm? You are only at the second level of the Qi condensation realm. How are you planning to do that?"
"How? I don't know but I'll figure it out." Fuyo smiled.
They left and arrived back at their little shack. Fuyo dragged many flowers and leaves back to the hut to eat and then started meditating. He appeared inside his inner world again, this time is was very different from what he remembered.
There were giant buildings everywhere and hundreds and thousands of cardboard cut outs of Jon Snow on every corner like civilians. Fuyo decided to ignore it, he flew into the air, found the library and then flew over.
"Jon Snow, do you know how to open meridians?"
He appeared from thin air, sitting on a floating cloud.
"Nope, how would I know? I'm only a spirit."
"Well, you're pretty useless ain't ya?" Fuyo shook his head and looked away.
"Hmph!" Jon Snow snuffed his nose up and then said "I might not know how to open meridians but I know something you don't know."
"What is it?"
"You're gay, hahaha." Jon Snow floated away on his cloud, his laughing slowly fading away.
"Wow, how mature." Fuyo flew down and entered the library "History"
When he got inside he realized that his flashbacks were contained in here, including a book filled with information when his mother got frozen. This could come in handy in the future.
He flew over to the Library "The Story of Fuyo – Part 3"
He was slightly surprised; these weren't his memories but the previous Fuyo's. He spent a short time reading through some of the books, he wanted to find out exactly what had happened when Fuyo died and why he was out there.
"Hmm, my dad huh? So that's why I kept going to the Caterpillar village, I was trying to find my dad."

He sighed, not only was he born into a useless body but his dad was a deadbeat.
He didn't worry about it too much and exited his inner world.
"I can't spend 5 years finding my meridians; I need to figure out an easier way to locate them."
He decided to leave the shack and go explore the forest; he wanted to test out his bee vision a bit more.
"I wonder how my profound veins were fixed; I don't think it was the transmigration."
He continued walking through the forest with his bee vision activated. It wasn't normal bee vision; it allowed him to see energy so he decided to call it qi vision.
With his qi vision he found plenty of white orbs but it was too slow.
"Beast have qi, so their meat should contain qi. Too bad I'm too weak at the moment otherwise I would hunt some down. That would be the best way to increase my strength. There must be another way, I can't continue to progress this slowly. I already had a handi-cap put on me when I started. But now things are different, huh what's that?"
In Fuyo's vision he found a yellow energy blob floating in the distance. It wasn't like the white energy he had seen before, he started to chase after it. Maybe it's a different flavor?
Chomp
"Mmmm..."
The energy made its way down his throat and circulated through his body just like normal.
"Oh, it doesn't seem to be anything special."
He continued in the same direction he found the yellow blob and discovered even more of them appeared around him. He didn't know why there were so many yellow ones in this area but he continued to eat them like a maniac.
After an hour he felt his energy building up. But he decided to ignore it and kept eating. After 3 hours he felt another explosion similar to the last time.

Boom!
"W...what was that?" He scanned his body and inside his dantian, it was no longer 9 nine layers but 8. The core had broken through the third layer and fused with the center. He was no longer at qi condensation level 2 but level 3. He was pleasant surprised.
"How did this happen? I'm sure I shouldn't have broken through for at least four or five days yet I did it in only four or five hours."
He sat down and started to stabilize his new power after an hour passed he opened his eyes again.
"It's the yellow orbs; they have to contain a higher level of spirit energy otherwise this wouldn't be possible." Fuyo's eyes lit up like he discovered gold.
He started running around even faster, chomping down all the orbs he could find. But after another four hours they were nowhere to be seen.
"I can't have eaten them all? Could I?" His eyes started to dim, the excited expression that was on his face before faded away. He felt like he was flying before, now it's like he was sinking in a mud.
"Maybe there are other areas with yellow orbs? It's too early in the day to give up now." He encouraged himself to look on the bright side.
He was just about to leave when he noticed a little yellow smoke on the ground. It was coming from the center of a tiny little pound. It was barely noticeable and the water wasn't anything special. He lowered his head down to the little pound and realized it was a lot deeper than it seemed on the surface.
"My arms are too short to reach down and the pond is too narrow for my body. Tuzai will fit down with plenty of space to spare but it would take me 3 hours to get back. The forest is vast and wide, I might not be able to find it a second time."
"So I have to check it now? But how do I get down?" Ahh! A light bulb appeared on top of his head.
"I've got it, hopefully I don't end up regretting this."
He activated Totemic God and felt all the energy in his body being used up and his body visibly shrinking by more than 4 times. Instead of a caterpillar he now looked like a worm.
"Ah... This..." His voice was extremely hoarse but he was glad his meridians didn't explode.
He slid down the hole butt first. "It isn't deep enough to drown in, that's good."
He smiled and climbed out of the pond. He then slid down head first, at the bottom he could feel various rock like things. He gobbled them all up and then pulled himself out of the pond.
When he got out he spat out all of the things he collected. Using his qi vision he noticed they were glowing bright yellow but without his qi vision they were just normal yellow crystals.
"They are glowing yellow because they are full of spirit energy I assume. What are these things anyway? The yellow crystals are just like the ones I saw in my vision of the past."
He didn't know what they were but they had to be something good. His body was exhausted from using up all his energy so he started eating all the surrounding vegetation. It wasn't enough to replenish his previous body fat but it still gave him enough energy to make it home so he could rest. Tomorrow he would try another spot and hopefully find some more yellow orbs. Their quality was a lot higher than the white orbs of qi.
It was getting dark so he made his way home with the yellow crystals in tow.

In The Tall Grass
Elizabeth Wilson commits suicide. She was the golden girl among her peers in Darkwood, Washington who stood above the pressure of her drug-ridden town. Explore the summer before her senior year that triggered the domino effect of Elizabeth's emotional and psychological breakdown that lead her to take her own life. This is the prequel to the main story, Petrichor and was never intended to be made. I wrote this because I wanted to explore Elizabeth's character and show how the main characters have changed since this event. I decided to release this first because Petrichor is undergoing a full rewrite. In the meantime, I'm writing a side story called Mourning Glory that takes place between the second and third act of Petrichor. Development is going rather fast so I suggest to to read that if you like this story
