《Bloodline》Chapter - 8

Raehor who was standing beside the seated Daemon observed from above as he looked down at the few hundred kids going through the most important phase in their life, he was thinking of the days he was going through the same baptism with his two brothers Amon and Raemon. He was proud of his two younger siblings they’ve managed to become the Clan elder’s pillars that were supporting the clan.
He also remembered when his father explained to him the procedure behind each baptism, in the future he would have to follow the same procedure and gather the blood essence of dragons in the world. He didn’t necessarily have to kill the dragon he just needed enough blood to fill up a bottle and then hunt more dragons for the same blood. This procedure was handed down from their ancestor the flaming thunder dragon god who ruled supreme over all dragons, he also left behind his blood essence in order to add to the baptism so that his descendants may inherit the best possible strength in their human body as well as the elements which he ruled supreme over.
Dragons were proud beings who did not take this kindly, after few thousand years of being hunted by the descendants of the one they once served as their god. They gave up in resisting and offered it themselves willingly as long one displayed the Redding medallion.
The amazing thing about dragon blood infused with their essence if they so choose to offer it to the Redding clan was that they could freely choose any Redding in the pool itself to inherit their power and merge with that person’s conscious the only taboo being that dragon could never interfere with that descendants thoughts, decisions, or threaten to extinguish his soul otherwise he would be hunted down and killed.
Of course Dragons weren’t only ever limited to Redding clan they were proud beings so it was hard for them to ever acknowledge any other Clan as easily as they did with the Redding Clan. Some took in humans as successors who went on to become legends in the continents and establish powerful clans who still had little of that dragons bloodline to boast as a Clan of Dragons this was truly laughable matter in the face of the Redding Clan who since birth carried the bloodline of a Dragon god and secondly had his blood along with countless dragons to strengthen their body. These dragons blood were used as a means for the Redding descendant to devour and strengthen the Redding bloodline in their veins so as to activate it easier.
While Raehor was lost in thought most of the kids below had finished their baptism and were with their parents as they were welcomed with a new Yellow dragon robe, they were pleased with themselves as they spoke about their new found strength.

This process went on for few more hours as kids walked out of the pool one by one until there were only two kids sitting down, these two young men were of course the twins Raegan and Raegar. Daemon and Raehor were expecting these two to be the last to finish so they weren’t surprised at all. Another hour went by peacefully like this everyone waiting for the two to finish until a scream was heard.
AHHH!!
Raehor and Daemon both stood up a little shocked and pleased at the same time this indicated that they both inherited something which was extremely rare.
Raegar was screaming as if he was burning alive and this carried on until black flames suddenly rose from his body and spread out few meters away from his body he began to float in air while he was sitting crossed legged, he was clenching his teeth. Suddenly his hair turned pitch black along with his eyes they weren’t red anymore, these flames were tyrannical.
Daemon was pleased and a little disappointed that Raegar didn’t inherit the thunder element of their clan he had high hopes for him but he still remained calm and waited for Raegan to go through the process.
Raegar calmed down and went back to his original calm state the black flames died down and his hair returned back to its original lively scarlet red colour it once had. He got up and walked outside the pool where he was greeted by his first uncle Amon who gave him a new robe as the last one had blood all over it.
Suddenly another scream rang out inside the hall.
AHHHH!!!
This process was a little different from Raegar, above the mountain black clouds gathered, and suddenly thunder danced in the clouds and the sounds of explosion in the sky was heard from inside the hall. The whole mountain itself was shaking as if a giant was banging on the mountain itself. The kids began to panic as if the whole mountain would collapse.
Raegan floated in the air and he suddenly opened his eyes as yellow thunder could be seen dancing in his eyes, he suddenly looked up the ceiling of the hall and watched the thunder in the sky roar as if an emperor descending on this lowly mortal world. Suddenly yellow thunder was produced from inside Raegan’s body he was bathed in yellow thunder and he had the impression if he wanted he could reduce this entire mountain to ashes right now but he controlled the urge to test his power. He slowly cleared his mind and allowed the thunder back into his body.
----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Daemon who was seeing this was shocked and pleased that his grandson finally inherited the clans traditional thunder, he could now die a happy man knowing the clan would be in a capable hands. He was also greatly shocked by the fact Raegan could produce so much of the element as if it was completely at his mercy and he could summer a show of lightning upon this mountain anytime he wished. It was both amazing and frightening to imagine such a thing.

Raehor was also very proud of his son right now for inheriting such power he could only dream of ever since he was little, the reason his Clan was now in this desolate forest in this mountain was mainly due to the fact this Element now became rare in the Clan otherwise they would absolutely rule over this world with true power.
The elders and the observers mouth were agape they couldn’t believe Raegan inherited such tyrannical power and it was their Clans most beloved element, the element that defined them, their strength and their pride. They were truly excited and grateful to have such a genius being born into their Clan.
The parents could only wish for their kids to befriend these two twins, although Raegar’s looks could bewitch any woman of this world once he grows up and matures, his brother however was the future leader, the inheritor of the divine thunder element. They would absolutely push their kids to be on even more friendly terms with Raegan and could only wish their daughters could catch his eye.
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Raegan slowly walked out the pool he was unaware of the commotion he had caused, he was pleased himself for gaining this element the Clan so desperately wished for he truly understood the importance of it now that he experienced it’s power.
“No wonder it’s so rare in this world to have this element, it’s truly heaven defying” Raegan was slowly thinking in his heart while he walked to his uncle Amon for his new robe.
Suddenly Daemon stood up from his throne with a large smile on his face.
“Raegan, you’ve made both me and the Clan very proud. You and Raegar are both the hope of this clan in the future. I hope you can truly master this element you were bestowed upon by our ancestor” Daemon was laughing in heart with excitement.
“I’ll serve the Clan well grandfather, I won’t disappoint you” Raegan felt very attached to this clan he spent the last 7 years in.
He understood very well that this type of powerful clan didn’t belong in this lonely forest that was full of carnage and massacre although they lived in a peaceful part of it, there were no civilisation here it was almost as if they were banished from the main lands.
He wanted to get back to the main land, he wanted to bring glory to this Clan although Redding was a very powerful Clan. To be here in this place meant they had an even more powerful enemy which they feared and no matter how much his grandfather boasted of this Clans strength he knew this deep down.
“That’s the end of this ceremony for those who have been given a new yellow robe strive to train to the best of your abilities and make a name for yourself in this Clan. We will not restrict anyone from advancing based on which house or who your father is we only value strength. You will be given different duties based on your skills so work hard until the time comes. As you all know there will be a clan wide tournament in 5 years so make so you train to the best of your abilities, there will be a very enticing reward for the winner.” Daemon smiled at the children.
“Yes Patriarch” The children all said unison crossing their right hand on the heart as they slightly bowed and then proceeded to walk out with their parents.
“Raegan and Raegar meet me in the study hall tomorrow” Daemon said before he disappeared.
---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Raegan and Raegar walked back to their living quarters with their father who was smiling like a fool, they both understood he was proud of them which made their hearts feel warm. It was truly a nice feeling when a parent looks at you in such a way, Raegan was thanking that mysterious old man for bringing him to such a world to have this type of family at last.
“My babies, are you hurt anywhere?” Aida came running once she saw her two boys.
“Aida cmon their not babies anymore, they are now men of the Clan” Raehor puffed his chest in proud manner.
“I don’t remember you giving birth to them, stop spouting nonsense you brute” Aida gave him a glare.
“This of course was a team effort you can’t hog all the accomplishments” Raehor retorted.
“Dad, mom, can you not get into this Raegar will have nightmare for weeks once he finds out what you two are talking about” Raegan interjected between them.
“Look at his face he looks completely lost, Raegar as your father the greatest advice I can give you is, do not marry a woman stronger than you” Raehor patted his son on the shoulder as he whispered.
“Dad don’t be a wuss mum can’t hear you when you whisper in my ear. You told me a man should say things clearly and proudly” Raegar big red eyes blinked.
“Hoo is your father bad mouthing mommy? If your father itching for a beating? Clearly he hasn’t learned his lesson” Aida finally stopped inspecting Raegan of any injuries and looked at Raehor.
Raehor seeing this suddenly stood scratched his head, looked left and right, then looked back at his wife and sons. Then proceeded to walk slowly out the door, he then broke into a full sprint as he ran away as fast as he could.
