They gathered in front of Sheron and one of the oldest of them approach him, "thank you, young man .. thank you so much for putting your life to save us"
"It's okay, besides, it's just a coincidence that I'm here too," said Sheron who has been accustomed in courtesy with the elderly after meeting with the Nightwitch
"You're pretty strong for your age, how old are you?" Asked the middle-aged men.
"Hund ... - Seventeen! " Sheron almost forgot his lifetime which is not the same as humans.
"So young. Where do you come from, judging from your direction, it just like you have returned from Demon Lord's territory... are you....??" asked the old lady
"they sure ask a lot question," Sheron annoyed
He realized that if he been exposed, he had to kill them all just to save his identity as a spy and that sure troublesome for him because he had to make a lot of cleans up for it. He silent for a while to think a good reason to fool them
"My village was destroyed by Manala and Jarda tribe... so I had to flee to the human- ...to the city to ask for help and, shelter," said Sheron
"Manala? What tribe is it ?? What is Jarda? we never heard about that" They asking confusedly
"ugh.. what a pain~!"
" My village is the remote one so it's to be expected you didn't know about them. The Manala is known as a great, savage, powerful and scary species of wolves. They were a difficult creature to kill it. They also can stand like humans, talk, play weapon, and even think like a human. "Sheron explain with careful
"Jarda is an indigenous people who like to eat anything related to meat.. especially human, although they also once human, they will eat anyone who is not from their tribe" he explained

Everyone was silent upon hearing Sheron's explanation. They began to mumbling with a pale expression
"how can they work together to attack your village ?? Your story is ridiculous and suspicious"-- the fat guy frown
"Weggar .., silence," says the girl who wears Sheron's robe
"You see, Anna...his strength, his skill, also the way he attacks those bandits as he was not a human. Even the story is also not convincing" --Weggar explain his worried to that girl named Anna
"I think he is a subordinate of the Demon Lord...if not, he can not possibly be so calm, after killing people that way !!"-- he continues to speak with a loud voice
" Let's hear first what he wants to say, Weggar de Fam," said the old man
"No... I will not hear it...You've all seen it. He moves fast as not a human... and while we're still this many, I propose to surround him, and kill him with haste!" Weggar suggests his plan to the others with confident
Suddenly, Weggar felt likes a sting with the warm feeling of his left cheek... then he knows what cause of it. It was because Aya slapped his face
"Don't you dare to talk like that to him... you ungrateful guy. Even if we are noble, that does not mean we can accuse and sentence someone. I ashamed to have a fiance like you!"--Aya said with rage feelings
"Still, Weggar... you too already seen with your own eyes... he beat those bandits alone, even if it's true your accuse toward him, it's impossible for us to catch him alive, let alone to kill him," said middle-aged men which make Weggar silence
"Hmmm, alright I get it. You !! continue with your story. But remember .. this doesn't mean I've trusted you, but because for Aya, "Weggar said

"Thank you for giving me a chance, Weggar, "Sheron said while smiling
"It's Young Lord Weggar for your knowledge," replied him with a smug face
Sheron just smiled, "you little piggy brat !!! soon.. I will make sure to torture you, and kill you brutally when there's a chance," he said in his heart, filled with anger.
"Well .. young man, please continue to your story, we stop with Weggar's question, where he asks, do they cooperate to attack your village?"
"No .. they attack at different times ..." Sheron recalls his tricks smoothly as if the story was true
"I'll tell you before I get here. Four days ago, a wounded soldier came to our village. He was seriously injured and our medicines were not able to cure him. Plus with no one expert in healing people...so my friend and I went to the nearby village to buy medicines and cloth for him, and while we were on the way, a thick black smoke went up to the sky from our view...and it seems like it's from our village"
"We became anxious, then speeding up our rides for fear of bad things happen in our village, and it does happen. The Manala attacked our village, this is because that soldier was actually injured to flee from them. They follow his trace of blood. We fought until the moon stands mighty at night. Only then, the Manala tribe finally let us alone. But that doesn't end like that"
"The Jarda came out behind the thick forest behind our villages as soon as The Manala leaves us and attacked our people violently. Their number was just too many for us to defend. Many of my villagers were injured and died during the Manala attack. They kill and eat our people alive. We fought till dawn, then they ran away after massacre our people and.... leaving me alone with those corpses "-- Sheron's voice sounded sad
"I want to find some shelter in town, so I'm on my way to go there"
The reaction on their face seems sad... except Weggar. they discuss among themselves and they all nod, sign to agree about something that they discuss
"young man, this is just a suggestion from us. why don't you just stay in the village with us? Our village is full of empty house cause due to the many campaigns of volunteer soldier against Demon Lord, many of those who go there and never came back for years. so... what's your answer, young man??" the old man asks withholding his stick
"In addition, if you want to stay in the city, the cost of living there is quite expensive for a boy like you who already has nothing left." said the middle-aged man
"so... Where are you all staying?"
"Roca Village"
"Roca village ??! isn't that village name is the same name as the place I headed for, if so, then this is a good opportunity that I must not let go, "Sheron's smile when he heard that
"Okay. I agree with your suggestion then, thank you" he said
"your welcome, young man," said the old man
"Do not call me that, it's somewhat embarrassing"
"So .. what's your name?"
Sheron thought, and then.
"My name is ... Sven ... Sven, just call me Sven "
Everyone is happy to know Sheron, or Sven, agrees to stay with them, and then they go heading to their hometown, Roca Village.

Follow Vivi on the path of adventure and learning more about mortals (which are no less cunning than most demons), as Hell tries to follow them and ruin all the fun. It's an action adventure with fighting and magic and monster people. Note: This is my first time posting online anything I wrote. And English is not my native language. I try to do a few reviews before posting, but I'm still learning. If you find any errors or have constructive criticism, please tell me! I will be happy if you leave comments. Content warning information: this story includes lots of killing of different sentient beings, but it doesn't have explicit gore. I still put a content warning, because it's better to be safe than sorry. It also contains a few profane words here and there... No sex scenes or traumatic content, I'll try to keep it positive.

The Paths of Magick
Credits: Story by Xcaliburnt. Cover Art by @Bervolart. Magick, the power to bend the laws of reality. All because of a mystical substance known as mana. Mages follow the Paths to achieve power, for there is no more addictive chase. Each Path winds and twists, forcing mages through the flames of adversity and challenge. Though the operative word is "path", the reality is far less straightforward. Instead of a road, Paths are like the branches of world trees, erupting into the heavens, intertwining, and ending in sharp snaps. Only the strongest reach the sky. There are several Paths, and many Ways to walk them—variations of the same Path, and like the stars, they are endless. Magick is the sacred flame that scours the fat, rendering the truest self. Superfluous flesh melting away to show the skeleton of one's being. A chance for ascension—apotheosis. Though not every mage works to godhood, if they survive long enough, It is inescapable. Witness the lives of those that tread the knife's edge of self-destruction. Each one intertwined in their search for answers, revenge, and, most of all: power. These individuals have all lost something precious—irreplaceable—and In search of filling the void left behind, they have taken up the mantle of a mage. Per aspera ad astra. Ad mortem vel divinitatis. (Through adversity to the stars. To death or divinity.) There is no consistent release schedule except my consistent inconsistency. Besides, there’s like a thousand pages worth of content, how can—you already read it? Goddamn. Oh, and there is a very long hiatus between volumes as I intend to edit and rewrite a lot. What to Expect: This story is progression fantasy, so expect a healthy dose of training. It's also heavy on slice of life, and it isn't entirely overarching-plot-driven. Expect characters to live their lives, and not always be on some quest to save the world. There's a lot of magic theory and discussion about it in the story. So, if you don't like impromptu lessons on sorcerous theory by traveling monster slayers, this might not be for you. But if you do like it, rejoice! For there is a lot of it. This is also heavy on prose, purple as a bruised eye. I use outdated, uneccesarily collegiate-level terms and play around with the writing style just for the heck of it. I find it fun to wax and wane poetic, and that might grate on you—I don’t plan to change this aspect of the Paths much if at all. Onto the viewer discretion is advised parts: This is grim-dark/ grim-heart. Take the tags seriously. There will be combat scenes that are brutal and horrifying. Fights to the death tend to be. This is a tale about medieval mercenaries (quite literal killers for hire), man-eating monsters, and eldritch gods beyond the material plane. Beside that, there will be traumatic events that are best left unread. I do not detail certain acts I find heinous enough, instead leaving some parts unwritten but still alludded to if not outright stated; there is simply no graphic narration thereof. This is not for the faint of heart.
