Krad's eyes and the woman's met.
"A beauty!" he murmured . Krad can't help but admire this woman's bewitching face. His gaze was locked on to that woman's appearance.
The woman who was giving him a death glare suddenly raised her left arm above her. Her hand did a grasping motion in the air. Gray mist suddenly emerged above her head spun, forming a gray, long, stick-like object.
The woman grabbed the gray stick, then lights suddenly shone within the stick object. Clank!
The gray long stick object had transformed into a long, sharp katana!
Krad's heart skipped a beat as he saw the long, sharp katana manifest. Without a second thought, he threw away his huge bag on his back, he kicked the ground with all his might, turned tail and fled!
'SHIT! She's going to kill me!!' thought Krad as he fled in panic. He didn't hesitate to use his elementary 'Fast as the Wind' spell. Coupled with his natural body speed, he had ran quite a few hundred meters within a short span of time!
Suddenly, he could hear a loud screech coming from behind him. He turned his head to look and he saw a gigantic flaming bird, twice the size of the dinosaur-like aberration he had slain within the vast wilderness!
It's wings spread open, it's as if the sun was on a very close proximity. On the chest part of the flaming bird, one could see a tattoo similar to that of three broken swords. The flaming bird screeched and spew fireballs towards Krad in succession.
BANG BANG BABANG!
Krad ran swiftly in a zig-zag motion, avoiding those balls of fire. Explosions followed wherever the fireball hit. Krad frantically dodged as he ran with all his might.
He couldn't spit profanities while in this tight situation. He could only focus on running. Suddenly, he sensed an object flying towards him in a unconceivable speed.
He dove forward and rolled to the side as a sharp, long katana swept past his previous position!
SHINKKK!
The long katana sunk into the thick tree trunk as if the tree was made of beach sands. Only the hilt can be seen.
Krad didn't have time to look back as his life is in danger! He unknowingly continued to run deeper into the forest as he fled.
After a few minutes of running, he noticed that the flaming bird had stopped chasing him. He slowed up his pace and heaved a sigh of relief. He thought he's a goner! "Phew. What a fierce woman! I only saw her bathing, yet she chased me like a madman, along with that bird! Was that bird her spirit beast?"
'That woman. Silver hair, golden eyes, and that tattoo on the bird's chest too. It's similar to that of Godblade Clan's insignia in the children's book.' he said inwardly. "I wish she forgets about this matter. I haven't even lived that long!" complained Krad.
Suddenly, Krad was struck with realized on how grave the situation is.
'Shit. She must have remembered my handsome face, right? What to do?!' Within a bustling city, locals would buy their needs and merchants sell their wares. This city is very big. There are countless of tiny buildings within the city, some of them had wooden boards with words written on it. It was placed on a spot where it would catch a person's attention.
Those buildings each only has 1 door. It's quite similar to Krad's ordinary-looking wooden house near the river from the vast wilderness. The inside of each buildings are astoundingly huge! These are the magnificent attainments of humans in magics! They could make their own space within a space, and even expand unendingly! Of course, those spaces are sustained by magical runes written on their doors. The runes will fade in a certain amount of time, depending the size of the space. Cracks within the space inside will appear when it's about to collapse. The wider the space, the stronger the magic consumption! ... At the centermost part of the city, there stood a magnificently built white castle. This castle is not excessively big, but the area surrounding it is a lush vegetation of grass. Inside the castle. Within a room decorated fancily, similar to that of royalty's, voices reverberated the room. Two woman with both silver hair and golden eyes, quarreled to each other. These two woman are very beautiful, and they also look alike each other. They seem to be mother and daughter.

The young woman was sitting on her bed, while the mother stood in front of her.
"Syndra! Why do you keep on refusing? Why must you be like this? Do you have someone on your mind?" said the mother in frustrated voice.
"It's not like that! I'm too young for matters like marriage!" said Syndra.
She had been proposed to several times in the past. She has countless suitors, but they were all coldly turned down. Even princes from neighboring empires asked for her hand!
"You're already 18! Isn't it time for you to get married?" asked the mother.
In this dangerous world of magics, the total population had been steady. It rarely spikes, but when magical beasts attacked, the population would sink. In this world, getting married at 16 is a very normal occurrence!
"B-but.."
Syndra had a sad look on her face. She truly don't wish to wed yet! She had many things to do, such as training! She has an ambition to reach the level of those eccentric Arch Mages! She has been chasing after her ambition since she was little. The matters of love truly hadn't occurred to her yet.
The mother gazed at her precious daughter with a loving look. She only has Syndra and her little brother as her offsprings. So she definitely wants a bigger family. But forcing her daughter against her will is very painful.
She sighed and sat beside her daughter. She held her daughter's dainty, soft hands tightly and consolingly.
"Alright. I will convince your father to refuse this proposal. Go train in the Tree Mountains Forest for now. Bring Twitty with you. Your father might come crashing to your room if he finds out your refused again!" said her mother as she giggled on her words. Syndra felt warm inside, then she nodded her haid happily.
The young woman beamed a smile and ran to her closet as she picked up her battle wear. She sped towards her bathroom to change clothes.
Her mother couldn't help but smile. She stood up and walked her way out. After changing to her battle ear, Syndra excitedly ran out of the castle. She took out a small whistle-like thing, and she fiercely blown it. FWWIIIIIIIIIIT!
After a short moment, a bright figure descended from the clouds above in a haste. As it approached, one could see that it's a bird! A burning bird! And it's size was astonishingly huge. SCREEEECH! The burning bird cried out a screech as it hastily flew towards Syndra. This bird is actually a Vermillion Bird. Its feathers are on fire, burning eternally. It can also spit fireballs! Such a magnificent creature! Syndra performed a series of hand signs as she chanted a spell. Gray mist emerged from the surroundings and it slowly enveloped her legs. The gray mist coagulated to a thin layer that covered her legs. It looked akin to a steel. As the Vermillion Bird neared her, Syndra kicked the ground as she propelled upwards, then slowly landing on the Vermillion Bird's back. "Twitty, to the Tree Mountains Forest!" said Syndra in excitement! The Vermillion Bird screeched as it acknowledged this little girl's command, then it flew to the west direction. The speed of this bird is astonishingly fast! It's as if a jet-fighter flying through the skies! Syndra looked down to the vegetation below. The mountains here are not mountains. They are actually a group of huge, towering trees! The surface below is a flat, and rivers can also be seen.

"Twitty, go play somewhere. I will walk on the ground below by myself. I'll call on you anytime so don't go too far!" Syndra said to this gigantic bird.
"Screech!"
Responded the bird as though it understood what the woman said. Syndra then jumped from the back of the bird mid-air, slowly descending. She chanted words and then green lights emerged from the air, forming a small whirlwinds on Syndra's feet. Thanks to it, she landed safely. As she walked deeper into the forest, cold breeze swept through her body on her left. She immediately turn left with a grin.
'There should be a river around here. I remember something written on the book that there resides a Armoured King Crocodile on the rivers around Tree Mountains Forest. It should be fairly strong to serve as my opponent!'
Syndra's golden eyes burned with excitement as she sped up towards the river. After running on the shores of the river, she finally met the Armoured King Crocodile.
The Armoured King Crocodile has scales as hard as steel. An adult crocodile of this specie can grow up to 50 meters long! They can grow faster as long as they eat magical creatures of the same magic affinity! Syndra gazed at the crocodile in front of her. This crocodile is 28 meters long. It's still in the middle of its growth. It could be considered young.
She raised her hands to the skies, making a grasping motion. Gray mist suddenly emerged from the surroundings, then it coagulated to a long, gray stick-like object.
She held the long gray stick by the end, and light beamed within it. With a clank, It transformed to a long, sharp katana! "Make your move!" Syndra smugly said to the crocodile. The crocodile gawked at Syndra for a bit. Then suddenly, it spoke!
"Scram, you puny little human!" Syndra was startled. She knew that magical beasts could understand languages. But this young crocodile can actually talk? It is said that only adult Armoured King Crocodiles could talk. She suddenly felt a blazing desire to fight this crocodile. She held her long, sharp katana with both hands and prepared herself for battle. "Scram!" said the crocodile once more in a low, rasping voice. This time, Syndra got irritated. This croc actually said to scram twice. Not only that, it seems as though this crocodile has no intention of fighting! 'So be it.'
Her eyes suddenly turned sharp. An icy, thick , killing intent bursted out of her. She kicked the ground as she dashed towards the crocodile. Series of murmurs could also be heard as she chanted spells to assist her in combat.
Suddenly, her speed increased by folds and she struck the crocodile's body. Right in the middle! Slice! Her long, sharp katana sliced through the thick armor of the crocodile as if it was cutting through tofu! It was smooth, fast and unimpeded!
Blood splattered everywhere. The Armoured King Crocodile was bisected without any chance of resistance! It happened in only a few seconds of time! The crocodile's blood oozed out endlessly. Syndra soaked in blood. She then made a series of hand signs and slammed her hands to the ground. Huge magic circle appeared around the carcass of a bisected Armoured King Crocodile. The blood that continuously flowed was instantly absorbed to the ground. Not letting the blood paint the surrounding red. She brought up a whistle and fiercely blew. Later, the vermillion came.
"Twitty. Eat!"
"SCREEEECH"
Syndra smiled. She looked down on her appearance. Blood soaked. Her silver hair dyed blood red. She couldn't help but sigh. She didn't bring a set of clothing! She turned around and head towards a shallower shore on the river.
She removed her battle wear and clothes. Buck naked, she dived into the water. Splash! Submerged underwater, she washed her blood-soaked hair. After a few breaths of time underwater, she swam to a shallower part to adjust her soaked hair. As she is busily adjusting her hair, he heard a murmur behind her. She stood froze. Her face suddenly flushed pink in embarrassment. She covered her bountiful breasts with both arms and plunged her body into the water. She turned her head behind her and saw a man with a long, ponytail hair, wearing a huge bag on his back. Hiding behind a tree, few meters away from her.
His eyebrows like swords, his nose perfectly shaped, his lips looks so soft ,so delicate, his perfectly shaped jaw and his dark gold eyes. His appearance is extremely handsome.
But the appearance of this man didn't matter right now, as there was only one thing that came to her mind.
'KILL!'
She raised her left hand, manifesting a long, sharp katana and called for Twitty. But before she could throw her weapon, the man threw his baggage, turned tail and fled!
She immediately swam to the shore. She wore her blood-soaked clothing, hugging her beautiful curves. Then chased after the man for a bit and threw her weapon towards him! SHHIIIINK! But after she threw her weapon, a communication talisman flashed in front of her. and a voice came out from it.
"Come back home at once. You will accompany your Uncle to a trip."
It was the voice of her most honorable father!
She grit her teeth and clenched her fists, unwilling to go back at this moment. But after a quick internal struggle, she finally clicked her tongue and summoned Twitty back. "I'll remember your face, you damned monkey!" The sound of her teeth grinding could be heard as she said those words.

The Mortal Acts
The Mortal Acts is an epic progression fantasy with a lower focus on training aspects and a great focus on discovering new ways of using powers intelligently. I've always been drawn to stories where characters use their powers creatively to overcome opponents and obstacles, and I think all the possibilities can provide a great playground for twists and turns. It's inspired by a variety of media, including Will Wight's Cradle, Hunter x Hunter, and Bioshock, so if you like the creative power use elements from those, come check it out. This is my first serial, and please feel free to leave comments and feedback. For backstory, behind-the-scenes, and other fun stuff, come chat on my discord! Desperate to find a cure, he travels to Severance Frontier, a desolate land haunted by hordes of ghosts, witches, and demons collectively called the Deathless. But a miraculous cure doesn’t magically fall into his hands. Things are worse in Severance Frontier than Riven had assumed. Ghosts are banding together into armies, demons are kidnapping anyone who strays out of settlements, and witches are enslaving everyone left and right. Riven, of course, gets embroiled in the mess. Missions to curb the Deathless activity are one thing, but when it starts to look like this is just the beginning of a war that extends beyond the mortal realm, Riven has a hard time focusing on why he came to Severance Frontier in the first place. His mother is inching towards death with every passing day, but if he doesn’t face down the Deathless, what little civilization the Frontier holds will be overrun and destroyed. Thankfully, it looked like the Deathless might just hold the secret of the elusive cure.
