《I can summon my past lives》06- God Trial Ground

"I'm what you would call a Dungeon Master. It means that I'm the master of a dungeon of my own. Back when I was roaming the realms, I met a woman, who later became my wife. She was a God and her domain was the domain of 'Creation' while mine was the domain of 'Space and Time'. She was one of the strongest Gods, in fact she was the strongest after me. She could create almost anything if she put her mind to it : living beings, universes, treasures, etc." Jata said.

"What does all that have to do with you being a Dungeon Master? What's a dungeon even?" Damon asked. He looked at Mad Pill for an answer, but the latter shook his head while closing his eyes.

"A Dungeon is a tower that reaches beyond the clouds. Inside there are floors and on each floor there is a world filled with enemies that you must kill. The strength of the enemies becomes stronger as you ascend the tower. The goal is to clear all the floors by killing every floor guardian." Jata Akil, said.

"What does your wife have to do with you being a Dungeon Master?" Damon asked.

"I was about to get to it...We had a son and when he grew up he disappeared for a few years and when he came back he became obsessed with games. When I asked him where that obsession came from, he said that he had found his calling and that only him could do it. You should know that children of Gods inherit their parents' Domains and they are born Gods. So he had the Domain of Creation and the Domain of Space and Time." said Jata.

"In a way he was stronger than his parents. Every subsequent God generation is stronger than the last, it's common knowledge." Mad Pill said.

Jata continued, "After coming out of his seclusion, my son invited me to a barren planet..."

***Flashback***

"What did you bring me here for Chronos," Jata Akil asked.

His son, Chronos flashed a mysterious smile and said, "I want to show you the fruit of my work, dad."

Chronos made a grabbing motion towards his chest and fist sized little red tower came out of his chest.

He grasped it and then threw it into the distance. The tower then rooted itself in the ground and then it became a giant tower in a split second. Half of the tower was above the clouds.

"What's this?" Jata asked.

"Mom, has been complaining that there are less and less Gods. Procreation between Gods is like a lottery. A couple may try for eons and there could be no results...and the immortals are too incompetent and most die at the last hurdle to becoming Gods. I like our Multiverse and I would not like to see it fall in the hands of the Empyreans who would just turn it into a treasure and then plunder it like they did to those few Godless Multiverses. Mother is the last Creation God we have...well there's me too, so I can share the burden a little. Creating Universes and filling them with mortal beings and teaching them cultivation or leaving them on their own to create their own Cultivation Systems is the mission of a Creation God." Chronos said.

"So you've found a way to create more Gods?" Jata conjectured, but inwardly he thought it impossible.

"Kind of. This tower has ten floors. It serves as a testing ground for the next potential Gods. They would need to have outstanding battle power if they want to last long against the Empyreans should there be a war. At the last floor there's a God ascension platform. Once the weakest have been weeded out according to the requirements I set on the ninth floor, the participant will be sent on the God ascension platform for the last trial. After he clears the trial he will become a real God." Chronos said.

"How can you create a God from nothing?" A dumbfounded Jata akil asked.

"Not from nothing. It took me a long time to find a way to make my idea viable. You see, if I have a God Corpse, I can reverse time and then capture its memories as well as that spark of energy that Ignited the God Domain when that God ascended. I can't bring back what's already dead, but if it's just stealing the memories and God Spark, it's not impossible. By combining the memories and God Spark with my Creation Domain I can create a God's Essence, that a False God can absorb to become a full fledged God. You understand now father, I just found a way to make our Multiverse invincible. In time we could even conquer the others or even get rid of the Empyreans altogether." Chronos said.

Jata was trembling, "All those God Corpses in the Mausoleum of the Fallen Gods..."

"Don't think it is going to be easy, father. How do you think a family will feel if their ancestors are desecrated? His memories and God Spark stolen while he's in his eternal rest." Chronos said while shaking his head.

"Most families have been extinct, that's at least a few hundred corpses, you could use, if we include the Beast God Corpses." Jata said.

"Still, when we could have thousands of them, I feel dispirited when my work could have made this Multiverse a little better." Chronos said.

"Maybe they'll accept the facts. The threat of the Empyreans is still looming over us. This is no time to be filial to the dead or there won't be another generation if there's a war." Jata said.

"Maybe you're right, father. Hey, maybe you should keep this one. I'm not cursing you, but should you reach the end of your lifespan, leaving behind you God's Essence will gain us another 'Space and Time Domain' God. We're the only ones now." said Chronos as he waved his hand and the gigantic kilometers long was turned into a fist sized tower that hovered above his hand. He gave it to Jata with a smile.

"You really are cursing me...are you that eager to get rid of me?" Jata said, but he still took the little red tower and then stashed in his Soul space as it was a Soul Treasure.

"Of course not, father. As a matter of fact, you may never die on my watch even if you want to. Let's just hope you survive long enough for me to finish my next project." Chronos said with a mysterious smile.

"Stop daydreaming. Immortals think that us Gods are True Immortals since we live for eons, but everything has its predestined end, even us Gods." Jata said as he prepared to teleport home. As he was disappearing he heard his son saying, "Yes, yes, father. I'll listen to you. Now,... a system...those earthlings called it that didn't they?...time to st…."

End of Flashback.

Mad Pill and Damon had seen and heard everything in the flashback that Jata showed them by sharing his memories.

They had all heard the word 'System' at the end from Chronos' mouth even if it was barely audible.

Damon then said, "You don't think that your son has anything to do with this Requiem System do you?"

At this time, even Jata was having doubts. It was just an old memory and he would've never remembered if he had shared it today.

Jata was angry, "Raah, that little bastard. He couldn't let me die in peace."

Mad Pill had a gloating look, "Who was saying that 'this is no time to be filial to the dead or there won't be another generation if there's a war'. Your son must've done what he thought was right for the good of the Multiverse."

"Hey, I just remembered something." Damon said, "In the choices of reincarnations I had to choose from, there was an {Empyrean Artificer} in there. You guys think that one of my reincarnations could've been one of the Empyreans that want to conquer this multiverse."

Jata then said, "I think it should be. Most of the time, reincarnation is done in the same Multiverse, but sometimes there were cases of jumps to other Multiverses especially if you had died in that Multiverse then you would surely reincarnate in that same Multiverse."

Mad Pill then said, "Which reminds me that we will need an Artificer to make the badges for the new force we are about to create."

"What are the uses of those badges?" Damon asked.

"Since we now have a Dungeon, we can send our new force to train in there with you. To control the inns and out and maintain order as well as facilitate the exchange of goods, we will need an identification badge equipped with a space storage and communication module." Mad Pil said.

"Let's first go into the tower. You need to reach the LVL 10 and then get the Requiem Soul. If you fail to get the {Empyrean Artificer} in the three choices, you'll get another Requiem Point which will get you x3 Requiem points. It will be enough to try again. Let's hope two chances will be enough." Jata said as he released a fist sized red tower that hovered above his hand.

In the next moment, the three disappeared from the room leaving the little tower floating there alone.

Damon opened his eyes to a red sun which blinded him for a moment.

[God Trial Ground Detected.]

[Since the beasts in this Trial ground are artificially made, no Soul Energy will be Collected.]

[EXP collection is operational.]

[Work hard to level up.]

"Well, at least I can collect experience. I can level up like that." Damon said.

"I thought my son had used real beasts, but that wouldn't explain why they keep respawning endlessly. I think he found a shortcut to create an endless amount of beasts for his challengers, he must've thought that it would take him countless years to find the ideal God candidate."Jata said, his arms crossed as he surveyed the place.

"You missed something, Jata. Your son is behind this System or else how could it have recognized what this place was." Mad Pill said.

Jata didn't say anything. It seemed that the less he thought of his unfilial son, the less angry he felt.

A group of wolves then appeared not far from them.

As Damon looked at the wolves he saw in his vision,

{Crimson Direwolves x 26}

Above every Crimson Direwolf head he saw the number a red bar. The biggest Direwolf had an orange bar.

Above the color bar there was a text that said the cultivation of each Direwolf.

The red bars varied from Level 1 Mana Condensation to Level 9 Mana condensation.

The Orange bar was a Level 1 Foundation Establishment.

"Jata, why did you bring us here? I can't beat them." Damon said as he started slowing down from his walk towards the Direwolves.

"I brought you here so it would be faster. That's the boss of this floor, if you beat him, you are guaranteed a level up. Ask the system how much you need for LVL 10." Jata said.

"System." Damon said.

"Use your imagination, it should be ok." Mad Pill said.
