《Promise》Chapter 38:

Kyle and Luna were just drinking and chatting, having a good time, a rare moment ever since they came here. But it all ended when they heard what the table next to them was talking about. “ Hey, did you hear the news ?The Temple had found another demond hiding among us.”
Those words from them stopped Luna and Kyle's conversion instantly, they closed in and heard every single word they spoke. There were 4 people sitting there.
“Who is it this time ?” (A) asked
“Glenda Shaw, that scary woman from Elm street” (B) said.
“Oh I know her, I heard people talk about her a lot, how she just got pregnant by herself and that people saw her using magic” (C) said.
“Not that’s not all, have you seen her child? It's definitely a demon child, one look at it and you will have nightmares for the rest of your life.” (D) spoke.
“They said that she used necromancy magic, a power that only can be used if you are a demon, and her child was a product of necromancy as well.” (A).
“So when is the trial ?” (B) asked. “One week later, in the afternoon.” (A) replied.
“Good, I hate demons, thank the Goddess for the Temple. If not for them, I don’t know how we could survive all of this” (D) said.
“A real life witch trial huh interesting” Kyle said. “Do you think that it’s true what they just said, or is it like in our world where so many women have been killed because of being called a witch?” Luna asked.
“I don’t know yet. In this world magic does exist, so do monsters and evil. The Temple might really be on point on this one, who knows. But that truly is some eye opening discovery.” Kyle replied. They continued to listen to what those men had to say and found out the exact time and place the trial took place, at the center of the city, in front of the Temple, a public trial. “Shall we attend the trial then ?, it might give us more inside of what and how this world and country work”. Kyle asked.
“Yes, let’s” Luna replied, but unlike Kyle who was calm and cool about the situation, Luna had already shown to be a little bit irritated at what those men had to say and how this country seems to run.

Everyone met back at the Inn just like they planned and shared their discovery.
“A witch trial huh” Liam said “Well somehow that is not too surprising for me nowaday”.
“What did you guys find out on your front ?” Luna asked.
“We saw a slave auction right in the middle of the marketplace. They were prisoners of war, minority tribes or something like that. It was brutal watching those people get treated like they weren’t even human.” Maria said her facial expression showed a clear sign of sadness.
“Was that it?” Kyle asked.
“No, when we have a look at the marketplace, there seems to be no medical herb or any medical related goods or products to be found” Allan replied.
“What is so strange about that, in this world we have magic, and in this country, the Temple can perform healing magic for it’s followers, so why would there need to be any other medical assistant?” Luna asked.
“The strange thing is, for a world that has so much potential and power, they seem to be extremely lacking in science.” Allan replied.
“Can you explain it further Allan?” Kyle asked.
“Well from my study, mankind and evolution go hand in hand with power and ability. The civilization with the most innovative creation or discovery shall become more advanced and therefore gain more knowledge and power. In this world, people have skills and magic beyond our wildest dreams. This will help them in so many areas, like curing diseases that are incurable in our world, with their strength they could have made countless expeditions without much fear for life, with their magic, they could create inventions and technology beyond our imagination. But they didn’t, they are stuck in this Medieval technology for sometime now and from what we have seen, I don’t think any evolution is going to happen anytime soon. And you better believe that if in our world people have abilities like that, we would have changed dramatically for the better.” Allan said.
“So what are you implying here ?” Liam asked.
“Something is holding them back, that is the only explanation that I could give” Allan replied.
“Humm, that does seem to be reasonable, in a world where as it seem some people have magic and some don’t, it is reasonable for those who have magic to want to remain the top of the world by retraining discovery and technology to prevent everyone else to gain any kind of power and knowledge that one day could dethroned them” Kyle said.

“But that really doesn’t matter to us right now” Kyle continued “So in the end, we still were not able to gather any relevant intel about what kind of thing that surrounds this area”.
Everyone remained quiet at what Kyle just said.
“Well yes and no, we might not gain what we want but what we need instead. I really think we should look into what we have just found a little more, we could really gain a bigger and clearer picture of what is going on in this world we are in.” Liam said.
Kyle and the others gave it a moment of thought, “What do you think Kyle?” Luna asked.
“Well as much as I would like to know more, we still need money and we need it fast, so I think our mission is still the main target. But I see that you are all conflicted from what you just found out, so I have a suggestion.” Kyle said.
“What is it ?” Allan asked. “We will be divided into two teams, one will finish that gathering mission, an easy one and relatively safe one, and the other team will stay here and do some more research on the matter”. Kyle replied.
“That’s not a bad idea, gathering missions are known to be time grinding and not really heart pumping in games like these, so we don’t need to spend so much manpower for this. So how are we going to divide the group” Liam said.
“Well Maria is the only one who has medical knowledge so she will be the one who stays back” Kyle said “Liam can you lead the mission group this time?”
“Sure, this is not going to be a dangerous one I suppose. I would need Luna's vision though, it would certainly help the mission. You can stay back and make sure of Maria’s safety” Liam said.
“Then it’s settled, Maria and I will stay here and search for more answers, you guys can do the mission.” Kyle said. “Remember to stay alert, just because this is a simple task doesn’t mean there aren’t any dangers. Luna, please make sure to not just focus on finding the material but also keep an eye for any potential danger. The first sign of something is wrong, you head back ok”
“Sure thing Kyle, I promise,” Luna said. “Oh and Kyle, if it’s possible, can you look into the witch trial as well, I know it's the most crucial thing right now, but I just got a strange feeling about it”.
“We’ll see, just keep our head in the mission ok” Kyle replied. Luna nodded her head and stepped away.
“You’re giving personal advice for someone else, since when does that happen?” Liam said with a smile.
“Since I’m not going to be there and she is crucial part of your team as for now” Kyle responded “You too, don’t be foul by nature of the mission and don’t risk the team safety just for the mission”
“Don’t worry I got this, you just focus on doing your research and leave the rest to us” Liam said. After a quick conversation, the team set their gear and got ready for their own mission.
“So where are we going to find all of the information we need, going around asking questions again or do we head straight to the Temple to find some answers ?” Maria asked.
“You know, before the creation of the Internet, mankind has already invented a way to restore their knowledge and wisdom.” Kyle replied.
“Oh no you don’t mean…” Maria said.
“Yep, we are going to the library.” Kyle said. Maria was sort of disappointed. She was hoping for something like what they did the last time, but it was just like what she usually did in her world, heading to the library and hitting the books.
“Don’t be like that, not every mission is going to be like that in an 007 movie. I want you to research the medical knowledge of this world and compare it to ours, see how far they have come.” Kyle said.
“What about you ?” Maria asked.
“I don’t know yet, but ideally, if I could find a map of this world or learn more about the history and the culture of this land, that would be great,” Kyle replied. “And I think we should discover the city more indeep as well, it certainly has more secrets and surprises than we thought”. Maria agreed and they both headed to the library first. And the result of their research was astonishing in the end.

To Blunt The Sharpest Claw
The Velvet Paw of Asquith Novels are a series of New Fable genre novels that involve cats and dogs and high adventure and romance and espionage and food-fights and hotels and explosions and car chases. With large casts, exotic locations and an absurdity only possible in the absence of human characters, the Velvet Paw of Asquith Novels blend Wind in the Willows with James Bond, though with more cafes and fewer badgers. This submission is the third title in its Morigan Trilogy, beginning two-thirds of the way through the series' longest adventure yet. Here's a quick recount of what's happened so far: When Oscar Teabag-Dooven, a Velvet Paw of Asquith, is ordered to investigate how a mysterious poet, the Ar'dath-Irr, is able to travel instantaneously around the world, two very bad things happen. Firstly, he meets Lydia, an insane librarian who punches everyone in the face, and secondly, the Ar'dath-Irr reveals he is intent on taking over the world. Although this second thing might be considered worse than the first, Oscar feels differently following Lydia’s destruction of a cafe, a library and his face in one afternoon. In comparison, thwarting world domination just seems easier. Along with Binklemitre, a fellow Velvet Paw of Asquith, and Lydia, Oscar infiltrates the Ar’dath-Irr’s realm of dark poetry to discover the dog not only intends wrenching the world apart but has no intention of cleaning up afterwards. As a result, Oscar decides it’s all too hard and goes home to have a bath. After lots of arguing and the sort of food fight that posh restaurants were invented for, Lydia and Binklemitre convince him that they must stop the Ar’dath-Irr for several reasons, one of them quite serious. A vibrant cast of characters collide as Oscar, Lydia and Binklemitre battle the Ar’dath-Irr and his disciples in an adventure involving exploding cafés and appalling hotels, car chases and inadvertent surgery, dreadful poetry, lots of arguments and at least one temper-tantrum, all of which draw the three into dark and convoluted corners of a world they weren’t aware existed. Moreover, any chance of sitting down and discussing things over some buns disappears when Lydia punches the Ar’dath-Irr in the face. This results in her having a psychotic episode and Oscar getting run over by an ambulance. Although Binklemitre suffers neither, he witnesses both, which is almost as dreadful, though not nearly so messy. An enormous battle ensues, followed by a dinner party and then everything explodes.

With You [Cannon Kuroo x reader]
You are a manager for the Karasuno the volleyball team, along with Kiyoko. When you met the captain of the Nekoma, Kuroo Tetsuro, at a practice game, life became more interesting. Read to see what happens when you two meet again at a training camp.(Absolutely no angst because only happy thoughts. Cannon Kuroo, because fandom Kuroo is sorta toxic. Please read, comment, share, and vote for no reason.)P.S: Y/N does not play a sport, not at all. (The reason why is that I hate sports and I've seen to much of the sporty girl x Kuroo. I wanted something different and everyone seems to think that Y/N is a fit person with some attitude, especially with those Kuroo x readers. I wanted Y/N to be normal and nice with no attitude and no sass. Thanks for listening to me rant. Oh and sorry if you're fit this fanfic works for you too and you're beautiful too.)
