《Promise》Chapter 32: A fairy tale wedding

Five days came and went in a blink of an eye, Casablanca had never been more beautiful, today all of the main streets of the city were filled with rose petals, changing them from normal streets into fairy tales like red roads.
On the biggest street, a white carriage was being pulled by 4 majestic white horses. People on both sides of the street were cheering, throwing rose petals into the air. Men wearing Blackburn guide signature clothing were escorting the carriage.
It was Rose’s carriage, she was the most beautiful bride to be at that moment. Her long white silk wedding dress with those ruby red eyes and long curling red hair went well with each other. Like any other bride, she was nervous, her eyes said it all, however, was it because she was going to be married to someone she did not love as Rose still remembered the face of her one true love as she was being carried to her wedding ceremony, or was there something else she was worrying about.
Everyone was ready, the wedding ceremony was as beautiful and massive as one would expect from two of the biggest guides in the city. Hundreds of guests had all arrived, only people from the two guides and some from the city government were invited to this wedding.
Alexander Leon, the groom and Rose Blackburn, were taking their places in front of the priest who was designated as the one who would get them married.
Alexander Leon was a handsome young man as well, 6ft 2 (188cm) with short brown hair and bright brown eyes. He was physically strong, it was clear just by looking at him that he was not just a prince with a silver spoon but a strong warrior as well, his body was fit and he had eyes like those who had been fighting for all of their life. Next to him was his father, Sebastian Leon (185cm), the head of the Leon guide. Unlike Richard, he looked like a full time fighter rather than the head of a rich guide, his body was in perfect shape, there were scars on his arms and one on his face, let just say he was someone who you never want to face again.

Their wedding ceremony went on without a hitch, people were smiling and crying all over the place. And the final moment finally came.
“Do you, Alexander Leon, take Rose Blackburn to be my lawfully wedded wife ?” the priest said. “I do,” Alexander answered.
“And do you Rose Blackburn, take Alexander Leon to be my lawfully wedded husband ?” the priest said. Everybody held their breath and completely silent, everybody was waiting for the magic word.
“I do,” Rose answered. Everyone cheered and smile as the priest said the final words
“I now declare you husband and wife”. Rose petals thrown into the air by everyone as the newly wed walked down the aisle. Everyone was wishing them the best. Music started to play as the two began their first dance as a married couple, everything was so beautiful, as if it was straight out of a fairy tale.
But the party had just begun, it was the wedding dinner time, wines and exotic cuisine filled the tables. People were dancing and laughing, drinking their wine like there was no tomorrow.
“When will it start to kick in, father?” Alexander asked his father who was sitting next to him. Rose was dancing with her father, Richard, at the time.
“Soon, the real fun is about to begin any minute now” Sebastian said.
“What a shame that we will have to kill her too, she is quite beautiful” Alexander said, “But there are indeed many fish in the sea”. Alexander spoke those words as his eyes directed itself to the beautiful blond waitress with green eyes, holding cups of wine coming toward their direction.
“You wine sir,” the girl said. “Thank you my dear” Alexander smiled and held her hand as he spoke to her. The waitress smiled back at him but quickly pulled her hand away from him and headed back to where she came from, it was clear that she was very uncomfortable with what just happened.
“I can’t wait to be single again,” Alexander said. “Be patient my son, you can get your hands on as many women as you want after this is over”. The two smiled and drank all of their wine in one go.

Couple of minutes later, something strange was starting to happen, many of the guests were starting to get noxious and having headaches. After that, people started to have cold sweat and some said a feeling of pain in their chest and stomach area. People started to panic, well the Blackburns did, as almost all of them were under this strange condition while the Lion guide members were still seemingly fine and uninterested. 10 minutes after the first person got the symptoms, less than half of the guests were lying on the ground past out or in pain. Except for a few, like Richard or Rose who did not eat anything so far.
“What is going on Sebastian, why are there so many people getting sick?” Richard asked.
“Don’t worry Richard, they are not sick ?” Sebastian replied “They are just going to die, just like you are”
“What ?” Richard replied in shock. Rose instinctively ran back to her father, standing behind him. “What is the meaning of this Sebastian, this marriage was supposed to be our way to grow strong together, why are you doing this?”
“Your Blackburn guide has always been a throne in my eyes, my Lion guide has always been the backbone of Casablanca, until you came along. If I could somehow eliminate you and take over your guide as well, the Lion guide would be the sole provider of weapons, security and food to this city, or in other words, absolute power.” Sebastian spoke.
“So that is why you are doing this, for money and power, you are willing to kill my entire family, my entire guide members for that. Do you really think you could get away with it?” Richard yelled at Sebastian.
“Ha ha ha…” Alexander laughed “You old foul, we already have, don’t you see so many of the city government members are here, which side do you think they're on ?” he continued to laugh.
“And it wasn’t like the first time we killed people from your guide either.” Sebastian spoke.
Richard's eyes were filled with anger as he heard him say those words “So it was you who has been stealing my goods and killing my men. You son of a bitch I will kill you all”
“You, haha haha…” Alexander said “Look around you old man, you should be begging us to kill you quickly and mercifully” as he finished those words, the Lion guide members started pulling out their weapons. “Oh and don’t worry about Rose dear father in law, I will take good care of her then she will follow you very soon” he continued.
“You fucking bastard, you got me, my life is yours, spare my daughter she got nothing to do with this” Richard screamed, his eyes filled with anger looking straight at Sebastian.
“Don’t give me that look Richard, you know you would have done the same. If only you would have more power and money, am I right? You and I, we used to hunt monsters and men for money and glory, tell me how does it feel to become the receiving end?” Sebastian spoke out laughing.
“I will do you one better, I will show you” Richard said. Suddenly, those who were poisoned from the Blackburn guide stood up, pulled out their weapon and started killing those from the Lion guide and from the city government that were standing near them.
“So Sebastian, how does it feel to see your friends and family die right in front of you?” Richard said.
“You’re mine !” Geralt pointed his sword toward Alexander as he stepped up next to his father.

NOTE: The story will be slow for many of the chapters and the time will also match it, ex: goes by day by day. The time mostly will be used for introducing and adding to characters. It won't pick up until somewhere in the twenties but there will be action and events earlier on such as the missions. Just a fair warning. Order of Phantasmal Architects

He explained what was going to happen to her now that she died. She would be able to live out her life in a fantasy world that she was always so passionate about. I can't think of any off of the top of my head, but better safe then sour.Comments, reviews, and constuctive criticizm is welcome, but please do recall that these works collectivly represent a great deal of my growth as a writer.Cover by the wonderful gej302!
