《Saga of Osin》Chapter 13

I strain and stand up. The blood rushed all the way down to my legs and I feel dizzy. I grab the nightstand and take a few deep breaths. My abdomen still hurts. In a few hours it'll be light and I don't think I'll have a chance to break them out anymore.
Why am I doing this? I should just abandon them and leave them to their own devices. I should do that but I don't. This isn't just altruistic: having Ake with his martial arts will give me a much bigger higher chance of survival then being a lone wolf.
I have a plan. The dungeons have to be located on the lowest floor. Perhaps, its similar to a basement. They sure as hell aren't keeping them on the top floor though, perhaps there are different customs in this world. Anyways, I'm betting its on a basement level or something which means that I just need to find the stairs and go down. Simple enough.
What if there's guards or a cell you might ask? Well, I have no fucking idea.
I wander around through the different corridors a few times. I have no idea where the stairs are. I turn the corner and a woman gasps.
I almost punch her in the face. She scared the hell out of me. Its the elven maid. I don't remember her name. Did I even ask for her name?
"What are you doing up and about? Master Ryland told us to not let you out of your room."
"I'm looking for a chamber pot or do you want to wipe my shit off the bed again." That gives her a pause. I almost laugh when I think back to the massive bomb I let go on those sheets.
"Don't you have a chamber pot in your room?"

"Why would I be out here if there was one in there?"
She sighs and rubs the back of her neck. "I'll take you to Master Ryland's toilet chamber. He's the only one who has it."
I wonder why she won't take me to a chamber pot but she'll have to pick that up and clean it as well. On top of that, his room is right across the hall.
I walk into the room and it has a few pieces of furniture in it. I look around and there's a bed on one side of the room and on the other side is a wall to wall bookshelf with hundreds of books. How rich is this guy? This can't be cheap in this world.
She opens the door for me and the toilet is...interesting. Its just a hole in the ground that goes somewhere. I have no intention of going anywhere close to it. Please don't fall in there.
I stay in for two minutes and get the hell out. The elven maid is still there. "Are all of these spell-books?"
She looks at me like I'm mad. Must be a stupid question. "No, Master Gale wouldn't allow us in here if they were and I don't think he would keep them in here. He doesn't spend much time in the city or even in this room."
Its a bummer those aren't spell books, I would love a healing spell right about now. The most valuable thing in this room seems to be a dagger on his night-stand.
The elven maid is walking in front of me and I grab it with casual ease as I walk along. I can feel something invasive coming from the dagger.
It feels weird like my hand is asleep but I don't want to drop it so, I slip it in my pocket. "I can find my way back from here."

"No, I'll escort you back. These hallways are quite confusing." I let her lead me back to the room. She closes the door and I'm back out again,
I do remember to ask her one thing, "What's your name?"
"Sheila."
"Is that it? No last name?"
"Only nobility have multiple names. The longer their history, the more names they have."
"Oh, that makes sense."
"What's your name?"
"|||||||||"
This time I follow the exact same path. I'm back in Ryland's room and I start going through the cabinets. There's a little gold pocket watch on his bed, I grab it.
I go through his cupboards as well but there doesn't seem to be anything valuable in there. The pocket watch is my only other bounty.
I look up at the door and the elven maid, Sheila is staring me in the face. She has a bowl of porridge in her hands. "I thought to bring you some porridge so, that you could go to sleep. Is this how you treat your savior? I thought you were a decent person."
Her self-righteous tone doesn't sit well with me. I know I shouldn't take it personally but my amygdala has other plans.
"I don't know where you got that impression but I'm the farthest thing from a decent person." I almost chuckle at that. A thin smile forms on my face and step forward. "He's not my savior, he's my incarcerator. He is trying to use and manipulate me. That's the one thing I hate more then anything in the world. I intend to survive and stay free this time. Doing that man's bidding for whatever reason is not a part of my plan."
She let me get too close and that dagger I obtained is at her throat now. I cover her mouth and throw her in the bed. I have no intention of doing anything. Get your head out of the gutter.
I do cut up the sheet and tie her up and gag her mouth. I shove her under the bed but I remember something. I pull her back out.
"How do I get to the dungeons?"
"I'm not telling you!" She's angry at me, its understandable.
"If you don't tell me, I'll cut up every single person I come across." Her face is aghast. "You know what, come with me."
"Lead me to the dungeons or I'll kill you!"

Path of Boundless Adventure
When Mana flooded back to Earth after billions of years, most felt lost in the new world. Some managed to adapt. For Michael, he felt like he'd finally found his path. Follow him as he fights monsters, explores new lands and most of all, seeks adventure. This is my first novel, never written anything before, so please be kind and patient with me, I'm doing my best. A more light-hearted post-apocalyptic novel with large amounts of game elements. MC has a unique advantage but is not massively overpowered and there's more of a focus on exploring and discovering new things rather than defeating a series of arch-nemesis' or building an empire.
