《The village elder is manipulating our minds!》Beasts in the Crops

“Upon hearing the scream, Jonathan and Richard ran as fast as they could to the street”
“On the way, Jonathan picked his spear just in case he needed it”
-JUST WHAT IS HAPPENING HERE?
-El-Elder! Bad news! Vile creatures are attacking the crops!
-What?! Screamed Richard
-Urg! Just when things were going well… You there! You call Oesa! Richard, go and pick the equipment Ryan made. He should have finished at least another Spear by this time.
-Yes Elder! x2
-Those who can fight, pick a weapon and come with me!
…
I ran with villagers as fast as I could. And within a few minutes, we were in the crop fields.
-Elder! You are here. Said one of the farmers.
-Just what happened? Where are the monsters?
-Just over there, they appeared out of nowhere, we ran for our lives but thankfully they stopped running after us.
-They are now eating the crops as we speak.
I turned around and gazed at the “monsters”

[Hard head Hare
Description
These oversized bunnies are very aggressive and territorial, their main method of attack and defense is to head-butt their targets at high speeds.
The strength of this move is enough to break the bones of some creatures.
This method is even more effective when you consider that such Hares live in groups, and due to their aggressive nature, they will go after anything they find threatening until it either flees or dies.
Some Hardhead Hares can actually grow horns, making their offensive even more lethal.
But they have a massive weakness, they only act based on instincts.
They will abandon anything if they are eating or mating, even injuries or possible predators.
Because of their rather suicidal way of living, they reproduce really, really fast. Because of this they are one of the biggest sources of food for other animals and are considered a pest by Humans.
]
… The only thing I saw were giant Hares. At least the size of a small kid eating the almost grown Crops.
If you are curious they are:
[Ricecorn
Description
A strange plant believed to have been made due to a failed experiment, although no one knows its true origins.
Being a fusion of Rice and corn, this plant grows just like corn. But in each cob, instead of corn, you will find hundreds of rice grains.
Normal procedures include removing the grains and cooking the cob, allowing for 100% efficiency.
Its unique characteristic is that after cutting the cob out of the plant, it will still grow another in half the time it takes for the mother plant to grow.
Because of these characteristics, this plant has been used in all corners of the continent for centuries.
]
I know I already read this once but… Damn! That's a busted Crop plant!
Anyway, I need to focus now…
How to hunt those fuckers…
-Does anyone here know how to properly wield a lance?
/Heads shaking/
“No one knew how to, they were villagers, the best they can do is slam down a pitchfork.”
-Shit! The food is slowly being devoured again… They are super fast at that…
By the time Richard and the Hunter come back, they will have already devoured 4-5 Fields… That's a quarter of our food!
Not that I really care… It takes two days for one to grow anyway. Better not take any risks.
I will consider this as a learning experience…
-Those aren't monsters… They are just big Hares. They aren't that terrifying, but make sure to stay away. They are really aggressive and territorial.
-But Elder! They will eat our food! How can we let them do as they wish!

FUUUUCK!
You can't do shit and now this?!
-Urg… You are right! They are just Hares, but this doesn't mean we should underestimate them.
-Come on Elder, it's just Hares.
Shut up, you dumb Peasant! You have lived in this village for years and yet you still remain so ignorant of the monsters around you?!

-Let's do it like this, some of you, come here and build a hole about this deep. The rest will pick a rope and set it like this…
-Just raise the robe when I say so!
I picked the lance and made my way to one of the Hares.
I hope that description was right…
Slowly, I made my way to the first Hare, which was currently eating a broken Rice Korn on the ground.
-If the description was right, it shouldn't care if I interact with it right?
I picked my spear and poked it's but.
“But the Hare didn't move”
-Alright… We are going somewhere.
“Jonathan turned around and saw that the Farmers and villagers had already dug a hole and some had even picked some farming tools as weapons
Don't underestimate a pitchfork's true power. They are rather sharp.”
-Alright. I think I can do this…
I aimed my spear in its head.
-WAIT!
I suddenly remembered that their skulls are, actually, very hard, so I changed the position of the Spear from the head to a more soft area, the neck.
-Alright… One… Two… THREE!
/Pierce!/
/SPLURGE!/
/KYYY!/
“The spear was sharp and Jonathan's aim was surprisingly good. Even though the Hare was completely still, hitting a target with all of your strength can still be hard if it's your first time.
Even more when you are using a spear”
/Ki.../
“The Hare kicked the air a few times but it soon stopped moving”
-Harf… Harf… That wasn't so hard…
Although the feeling of piercing flesh like this isn't really pleasant… I shouldn't look at the blood, my grip is getting weak.
Please don't curse me. I was just a normal Urban citizen in my past life. I had cooked and cut meat many times in my life, but this and that are completely different situations.
“He stayed there for a few more moments hardening his will until he made his way to the second Hare”
/Splurge!/
/Ki!/
“And just like the first, the second also fell”
-Harf… If I continue at this pace I won't be able to kill all of them before the timer runs out!
I need to be faster!
“So Jonathan started his massacre, he ran to the next Hare instead of silently walking. And noticing it completely ignored him, he proceeded to aim and pierce its neck.
He repeated this process 6 more times, annihilating all Hares.
Although he was barely quick enough to save this Crop field… A small price to pay for salvation.”
-I… I did it! I didn't even need to use my plan B!
If something got out of my hands, I would run back to the hole and have the villagers pull the ropes.
The Hare would jump over the rope and fall in the hole allowing the villagers to hit the Hare with their tools.
It's not foolproof but it was enough for something we had a minute or two to make.

Almost 100 and 200… I wonder if something is going to happen…
I should go back now…
“Tired and slightly bloody, He made his way back to the cheering crowd of villagers.
It was at that time that Richard and Oesa, the Tier-0 Hunter appeared”
You are fucking late!
-Elder! Are you alright?... Is that blood?!
Upon noticing the blood, Richard ran in my direction to ask me if I was alright.
-I am fine Richard, this isn't my blood.
-Did you kill all of those Hares on your own? They aren't that difficult to kill… If you have a bow. Doing it with a spear is quite tough. Very impressive Elder.
-Thank you Oesa.
I will go take a rest now…
-ELDER BEHIND YOU!
-What?

8 144Breakout: What Did I Get Myself Into?
The world is normal, and I mean completely run of the mill. People do boring things all the time, like controlling wind, moving at mach speeds and becoming able to demolish a building in one punch after eating. What...that's not normal to you? This is a world where the abnormal happens every day, thanks to super powered mutants called "Pathos". Enter: Capital City: An infrastructure with constructed on the Pacific Ocean off the coast of Japan, the basis for a school system of which the goal was to educate the Pathos on controlling their power in a safe place while also protecting those without power from being harmed. If you graduate, you could even rule the City one day! ...Or you could just take advantage of the free student housing and perfect the art of being a shut-in... Join Reito Usodachi, a lax and jaded, but surprisingly strong 15 year old boy who's in way over his head, on his adventures in Capital City... The only problem is, he may falter a bit when he gets a grasp of how weird the people in the City actually are. Even though he's read his fair share of media and the like, no amount of reading Manga or playing games could've prepared him for this. Amateur writer here! Trying my best on my first Original English Light Novel! (On a short hiatus!)
8 119Genso Suikoden: Worlds Collide
The story is set in the Queendom of Falena, the universe of the JRPG game Suikoden V. Though technically a monarchy, the aristocracy holds so much power within Falena that their squabbles and power-plays threaten to de-stablise the whole country. Complicating matters is the presence of the Sun Rune, an royal artifact of apocalyptic power and one of the 27 True Runes in the world of Suikoden. The main character is the Prince of Falena, Freyjadour, who is an unimportant figurehead not in line to the throne. During one of his royal inspections, he meets Natsu, Happy, Gray, and Erza who are a part of an alternate universe (Fairy Tail) and helps them find a way back to their home. Little do they know that it's not only them who came to this world… [This is basically a novelization of the game but with different twists due to the multiple crossovers. Therefore, there is no need to know any of the fandoms involved in this story. This will read like an actual novel itself. The universe and the characters are not owned by me.]
