“Mada, can you teach me a new magic?” I ask Mada.
He’s reading a book in tree.
“You can ask the others if it’s about magic. You know I got very limited amount of mana.” Mada shouts without looking at me. “And you're already good enough with the flying swords.”
“But Mada, I want my own magic.” I whine to him. “I want a magic that only I can use it or teach it.”
“And, what for?”
“We, well.”
I can’t say I wanted it because if I have my own magic with his guidance, it feels like our own child. No. I definitely can’t say it.
“A, Anyway, I want my own magic. And I need your knowledge of magic to do it.” I shout back at him.
Mada lets out a heavy sigh. He closes the book and jumps from the tree.
“So, what kind of magic do you want?” Mada asks me.
“I want a magic that will make me the strongest mage!”
“Uh…..” Mada says nothing else. His face looks like it has been punched on the left side. “Then, how about a magic that nullifies another magic?”
“A magic that nullifies another magic. Hmmm,”
I think for a while. Even if I don’t care what magic we might create, but thinking about it won’t hurt. If I can master this magic, I can defeat any magician that’s not trained well. It’s like using a magic against normal human.
“Yes, I want it. I want it.” I grab Mada’s hand.
“Okay, okay.” Mada tries to escape from me but I still grab him tight. “But let me warn you, after I found it, it possible it won’t be easy to master it. Are you okay with that?”
“Of course I’m okay. If, it’s easy to master it won’t be special anymore.”
“Then first, you think of any magic to read opponent magic while I create the sequence.”
I run and left Mada with a happy expression. I’m so happy that I forgot to ask what he meant by a magic to read opponent magic. Nil, I need her. After some time of looking, finally I found her in the kitchen with Sei. I forgot it’s her turn to cook today.
“Nil, finally I found you.”
“What? What do you want?”
I walk closer to Nil and grab her hand. “Teach me a magic to read opponent’s magic.”
“Huh? What do you mean a magic to read opponent’s magic?”
“You know, a magic to find out what magic the opponent uses.”
Nil let out a heavy sigh. “If such magic exist, I can easily learn any magic without the need of a book.”
“Uh, so, it’s not exist?”
“No, it’s not.”
“Well, if you want something to read another person’s magic, you can do it with my creation.”
Sei suddenly butt in our conversation while putting the plate on the table.

“But Mada said I need a magic, not a tool.”
“Then I can’t help you.” Sei coldly turn me down.
My body feels so heavy as I heard it.
“Now, now, how about you tell us the whole story while we prepare the lunch?”
I nod in response of her words.
While we prepare the food, I tell them the story of me want a magic of my own and Mada’s idea of magic that nullify magic.
“Hmm, if my ear is not fooling me, it seems he wanted you to create it by yourself.” Sei sounds her opinion.
“Yeah, I agree with her. You need to create it by yourself. And from the sound of it, I think it is possible it is only the beginning, he might ask you to create another magic. After this magic is complete.”
Ahh, I guess it is impossible for a magic of my own. Why would Mada made me do the creation? He knows the best I’m bad at modifying or even magic creation. Even Nil the most talented mage of all needs a few months to create one low tier magic.
“Then how about creating something similar with Sei’s tool?” Nil gives her idea.
“Huh?” I just responded out of reflex.
“Sei, how your tool works?”
“Well, basically magic is something that disrupts nature's balance. So, my device is designed to read those disruptions. The disruption will show me what kind of magic they use. But it still simple so all it can do is knowing the magnitude of the magic.”
“Wow, did you create it by yourself?” I’m amazed at how it works.
“Well, I just try something on the book. The book states that disruption caused by magic is connected by some string-like thing. It’s because the relation of magic and the nature is–“
“I get it, it’s from the book.” I interrupt her before she could finish it. “So, how can that thing helped me?”
“If I guess it right, you need to come up with a spell to read the nature's disruption created by magic.”
“Ah, ung, Is such magic exists?”
“I don’t know. How about you look into the library and try making it? It’s as easy as cooking.” Nil encourages me.
“But I hate books!”
“If you don’t want to create it, then you can say goodbye to that magic that Mada create. Maybe, he will give it to Nil instead.”
When I hear it, I run to the library to look for it. It’s pretty hard to create even if you can read the book. But as it’s written in some ancient language, I use a translation magic to read it. By the end of the month, I manage to create a simple spell out of it. But my term of simple spell is a real simple spell, unlike Mada’s simple spell that needs a lot of concentrations and knowledge. I simply make my eyes more sensitive towards nature’s flow like heat, light, wind, humidity, anything and change its color.

“Have you done your homework?” Mada asks me.
“Yes, I have.” I answer him with a smile on my face.
“Good, now for the sequence. Just do your spell and then cast a translation magic to translate the nature’s flow into words you can understand. After that just use voice of none to dispel by saying the incantation. And if your opponent is still saying the incantation, just add some random word by voice of none right after their words. Got it?”
“Ahh, umm, I can’t really understand what you are talking about.”
“Hah,” Mada put his palm on his face. “We need to practice.”
We get out of the house and see Burue and Nois are sparring.
“Cast your magic to see the magic they’re using.”
I obediently follow Mada’s order and activate my first own spell, nature eye.
“Tell me what you see!”
“Ahh, umm. I can see Nois’s body is covered with a lot of distortions while a new distortion is flowing like a river around Burue’s body.”
“Good, then the next step is adding a translation magic to read those distortions.”
“Huh?”
“Nature is alive. They’re talking in their own language. We cast a magic by using incantation. Those incantations are the embodiment of nature's language. So, if you can read and understand the nature’s language, then you will be able to read the enemy’s magic. Get it?”
“Um, yeah, more or less.”
“Then, your next homework is to create a translation magic of nature's language. I’ll see you again when you’re done with it.”
And yet, Mada left me with another hard task. As I ask Nil, Burue, or Ariana about it, they can’t help me at all. It is given an elf or half elf understands the language of nature. Nois and Euca never bother with such thing. Firn recommends me some book about it but, I can’t read it at all. No, I can read it but I can’t understand it.
As I ask Sei about it, she also takes an interest and we study about it together. It took us a month to understand the pattern of nature's language and another month for me to create the translation magic by Nil’s help while Sei create a translation device for it.
I let Mada know about it and we test it with Nil as our subject.
“Okay, Nil, cast out a body enhancement magic!” Mada shouts at Nils which stands afar. “Now, do it like before and then add the translation magic.”
I do as he says. I activate the nature eyes and then activate the translation magic.
“Tell me what you see.”
“The distortion changed into another form. It’s starting to form into jumbled words. A lot of words are floating in the air.” I answer Mada in awe of this magic.
“Good, by the end of each words, no, each letter, you can see a very thin thread connecting all of them. Imagine it being arranged to create a word. The translation magic should assist you in arranging them.”
I concentrate and make sure the words are arranged properly.
“If you have arranged it, then you should see about two lines or few lines of words. The upper one is the incantation to cast it, the lower one is the incantation to dispel it. By using voice of none, spell the incantation in the lower part.”
Thank god I don’t need to create voice of none as it’s a normal magic. I finished the incantation. But I see no different. Nothing changed.
“Did the words disappear?” Mada asks me.
“No, it’s not. It’s still there.”
“Then you’re failed. The problem lies in your translation magic or you arranged it in wrong order.”
After hearing Mada’s words, I get back to Sei to ask about the possibility of my magic is the trouble. Apparently when Sei ask out her creation to Ariana, she said it’s not entirely wrong, but more like it’s on a different scale. She said nature words that we analyze is the words of normal conversation. But a magic incantation is like a poem. So, it follows an entirely different pattern. Ariana recommend us to read a lot of poems and then try to make tons of it. She said we could understand the pattern if we could create one beautiful poem.
Apparently nobody in this place is willing to learn poetry. Ariana herself can only understand it but she can’t create any. Sei has given up when she learns about poetry. But yet another surprising event is happening. Mada is capable of understanding and creating a beautiful poem. When I said it to him, he willing to teach me about poetry. It became another beautiful memory for me only consist of us. At nights, we’re saying poem to each other like it’s a normal conversation. It feels so beautiful.
Finally, I mastered the art of poetry and I manage to complete it. The magic to nullify another magic.
“Finally, the magic is ready for you to use. But you still need a lot of training before you could use it at ease.” Mada praises me with a pat in my head.
I enjoy this pat so much. I can see Nil and Sei are jealous of me in the other side of this place.
“Thank you Mada, without you I’ll never get this magic. But say, Mada, are you probably already know about the nature disruption spell and how to read nature language?”
“Yes, I’ve known all about it.”
“Then, isn’t it easier and faster if you simply teach me the spell to see the disruption and the translation?”
Mada smiles. “Well, it’s not important. What matter is, if I just teach you all about it, then it will just feel like another magic of mine that you mastered. But this way, it feels like we gave birth to this magic together. Don’t you think so?”
At that moment, I can see the time is slowing down. It feels like a minute even though it just a second. I can see Mada’s bright and warm smile.
