《In New Dimensions Everyday》Glittering Mess 16

Roderick was now grounded because of the attack which had come from behind. He saw Tafadzwa reaching for his gun, so he kicked him. His hand had clutched handle of the rifle and Roderick was holding the nozzle. Tafadzwa pressed the trigger, but Roderick rolled aside in time. While Tafadzwa adjusted himself to a comfortable position, Roderick stabbed his feet. Tafadzwa loosened his grip in a moment of pain and Roderick had the rifle in his possession. He shot Tafadzwa several times, but it went in vain. He tossed the rifle on the dying fire when no bullets were left in it. Tafadzwa pulled Roderick's leg, bringing him to ground once again. Roderick lost the knife due to the impact of the fall. The knife went to none other than Tafadzwa. He did not waste time and flew down at Roderick with the knife pointed at his chest. A laser hit Tafadzwa, and he became smoke-like. Gretta. Roderick remembered, They must be here. With Tafadzwa being nothing more than mere haze, Roderick got delighted. Ranger was not anywhere to be seen. It did not bother him because he knew the old man couldn’t have gone much farther on foot. Roderick saw the ghost laughing. First, he thought he was laughing at him. Then he saw ranger's gun, which also had become hazy. Tafadzwa laughed when he saw the fire was out. There was just a flaming log. Roderick understood it was ineffective when he saw the ghost coming towards him. Roderick held the log and swung it at the ghost. Ghost knew the log couldn’t sustain fire for long. Swinging it was making the fire duller instead of strengthening it. Roderick blew the log with every bit of breath left in his lung to keep the fire burning. Hopeless Roderick turned at Tafadzwa, "He will kill both of us. Turn this gun solid." "I will not kill him." Ghost said, "He came here by sacrifice unlike you." The tiny flame on the log Roderick held had died. The ghost floated towards Roderick with its fangs and talons exposed. Something hit Roderick. It was a jet of light which made Roderick smoke-like as well. The ghost passed through him as a result. Ghost tried to attack him several times but no matter how much he tried, he could not touch Roderick. Tafadzwa gasped in shock. Roderick laughed at his face. The ghost was infuriated. He kept breathing heavy. Roderick was about to walk away when he heard the ghost breathing deep with its mouth open. Grass and twigs flew in the ghost's mouth as he sucked air. Roderick saw him swallow twigs and leaves. Fascination disappeared from Tafadzwa's eyes. Tafadzwa's head had started to distort due to ghost's inhalation. Roderick also felt himself being pulled towards the ghost. Tafadzwa was closer to the ghost than Roderick, so he left his ground. Roderick caught his arm before he could get sucked inside the ghost. "Thank you." Tafadzwa smiled. Roderick did not answer him. Instead he watched his hand becoming solid. Roderick laughed. "Touch me by your other hand and make me solid." Tafadzwa screamed. "No." Roderick left his hand and Tafadzwa disappeared in ghost's mouth. He then grabbed ranger's gun and the gun also brgan shifting to its original form. Ghost's inhaling was ineffective to Roderick: neither was solid nor gas. "I will kill you when you get in your original form." Ghost said, "Fire is out. Nothing can save you now." Roderick thought of sleeping, but half of his body was solid now. There was no way he could fall asleep while some part of himself was still formed of smoke. He heard ranger scream from somewhere. Soon the ranger and his wife came running towards their hut. Waylon was chasing them from behind. Roderick shot ranger through the ghost. As soon as he died, the ghost disappeared. A new ghost rose from the ranger's body. Ranger's ghost looked at Roderick, "You freed me!" he laughed. "I will never come back to this land again." Ranger said. "Don’t leave me alone." Ranger's wife said, but the ranger would not listen. The ghost disappeared into the darkness of forest. He left the woman crying. Roderick walked towards Waylon and said, "Gretta saved my life. Where is she?" "I saved you." Barry climbed down from a tree. "Where is Gretta?" Roderick was devastated. "She sacrificed herself for two of us." Barry said with a heavy heart, "She did not let me die." Roderick was saddened. He could see more sadness in Waylon's face. "Why did you leave me?" ranger's wife cried. "Madam." Waylon wiped tears off his eyes, "You are old and alone. You can keep the remaining treasure. It is in Volcanic Tunnel of East." The woman looked at him with mixed feeling. "Barry and Roderick. Come." Waylon said. Waylon held his grief and walked towards his jeep, which was filled with gold coins. Barry came behind him. He remembered Roderick after sitting in his jeep. "Where is Roderick?" Waylon asked. "He refused to come." said Barry. "Where did he go?" "To another dimension, he says."

Azarinth Healer
A new world with nearly unlimited possibilities. A status, classes, magic and monsters. Sounds good? Well, for Ilea it didn't come quite as expected as for some other protagonists, nor was there a king or god to welcome her. The grand quest? Well, she might figure that out someday but for now, a new world with new food is prize enough. Her fists at the ready, she's prepared to punch and get punched, however long it takes and however many limbs she might have to regrow. A story I've started writing now quite a while ago. Transported to another world, somewhat standard fantasy setting with my beginner attempts to make it dark but funny. There are Litrpg elements here but I do hope it's not too heavy and annoying. The fights should be interesting and aren't just numbers vs numbers. Contrary to the title the protagonist will be quite an offensive fighter. Ilea Spears is your average sarcastic kick-boxing fast food worker and soon to be student. She will be transported to another world rather conventionally and will be confronted with survival in the wild. Give it a shot and let me know what you think. My experience is incredibly lacking. If you find yourself hating it early on, do convey your anger in a detailed comment or review :) I want to get better but without any feedback it's simply quite difficult. Quick heads up: Around chapter 120 there are a bunch of longer PoV changes that I discontinued again shortly after. The Arc around chapters 150-200 is darker than the rest and the themes shift quite a bit. Just know that it goes back to what you've come to know after that section. Thank you for reading. Quick update June 2019: Many complaints regarding the formatting, specifically spacing in conversations and of course the usage of the present tense in the first 36 chapters have been addressed. I'm of course learning by the day but compared to how it was before it should be an improvement at least. Chapters usually around 3k words Cover art by Kevin Catalan

Trickster's Luck (Fantasy LitRPG)
Not all luck is good luck. Maya found herself at a character creation screen. Who was she before this? Why was she creating a character? What was the game? No idea. But she had nothing better to do and no reason not to play along. And when given the option for a rare luck-based starting class, how could she turn it down? It was rare and special! That must make it good. Right? Character-focused, low-stakes, post-death upload. Hard system: if the stats say she loses a fight, she'll lose the fight. Randomized outcomes: I roll dice behind the scenes regularly, so events flow according to the whims of chance. Nothing is set in stone. There is an overarching plot, but how the details play out and what path we take to get there is up to fate.
