《What's This Fiction ? A Very Incomplete Project.》Fishing

A man sits on a boat, alone.

His entire body is quite relaxed. He has a fishroad in hand, cast into the waters of reality.

"Man, fishing for followers is boring", he says. "Feels like I won't catch much more on this little expedition off the coast".

The man awaits still. He's rather small, for a grown man. Only measures about a meter and sixty centimeters, or five feet and three inches. Disorganized and dark hair flow from his head to his shoulders, swaying to the occasional wind.

He is unbothered.

"I'm kinda happy I catched a new follower with that last little bait", he mutters, with a slight uptilt to his voice.

He looks at the wavy water beneath his boat for a few minutes.

"I'm too lazy to row back to the shore..."

He crosses his legs and bounces his supporting leg for a bit.

He sighs. " 'Guess I'll drift for a bit more, that can't hurt. Maybe I'll even catch a new one."

The sun falls slowly from the sky. Light diminishes. The water calmly carries the boat.

The pale man closed his eyes while this happened. His breath slow and steady.

Darkness descends. The moon ascends. The boat is wooden. And static.

He yawns, then stretches himself. After a few more stretches, he opens his eyes.

"Eh, time passes so fast when you sleep ! Should'a seen this coming a mile away. What'm I s'pposed t'do now that it's this late...", says he while looking around. He cannot see land, nor light.

" 's a bit too dark for me to safely go back to th'shore. Could hit a reef, here, since I don't know how much I drifted, neither in what direction." He shrugs. "Drifting's fine, tho... Day'll come, after all."

He casts his line. "Midnight fishin's a fine pass-time, I'd bet. Let's try it out."

He smiles. And looks deep into the water.

His gaze pierces it. And his sight catches you.

"A fine one right here", he thinks. "I've seen it bein' 'round here since this afternoon, but it hasn't bitten."

"I'd recognize one like that anytime, 's'quite big compared to th'rest. Slippery, but gleams silvery."

"I wonder if I'll finally get it, now."

Meanwhile, you wonder what he's thinking about, and what to do.
