Skelly
Ok. So now that all that seems to be more or less settled, I think it’s about time I get a’working. But first! I need to remember my name. I’ve been mentally referring to myself as “Skelly”, mostly just on instinct. However, that is not my name. Frankly, I find it hard to believe that I’ve not thought to remedy this. So. In the interest of being concise, I shall pad for time no longer. My name, is Gustavo.
Very regal, I know. I can hear the angels singing, joining in chorus of my name *Gustavo! Gustavo! Gustavo!*. I love it, always have loved it really, it’s just about the neatest thing about me. Well, not as much now, I suppose. Honestly, how many people can say they’re a sentient skeleton? With an awesome name, no less? Probably not many.
But I digress. With that little piece of bookkeeping out of the way, I’m off to live out my dreams of spending my entire unlife rocking back and forth on a rocking chair outside a cabin in the woods, playing a banjo, and laughing at little kids too foolish to run. I play a mean banjo. Hopefully it doesn’t get old. I’ll have to make a sick hat too.
Second piece of bookkeeping, I need a rock, so I can make an axe, and then make a cabin. Nothing to it but to do it I suppose.
Jean
I mutter a curse under my breath. The skeleton is moving again. It isn’t looking at me, but it is obviously searching for something. It scans the ground for a few seconds, and then moves along. I’m not in the way of its future path, so I’m probably safe in assuming it’s forgotten about me.
But that begs the question, what do I do about this? I’m trapped inside a forest surrounded by a big fog barrier, and I know for a fact that there are monsters roaming the area. I have tried leaving, but I just got spit right back out the barrier when I walked in.

Well… I just don’t know. I don’t know enough about my situation. The only human-ish thing I’ve found is a skeleton, and it doesn’t seem to be much of a conversation partner. Maybe it’s intelligent? I just don't know! I’m on a different damn planet, and I’m watching a skeleton walk around looking for-
It picked up a rock. It was searching… For a rock. It has picked up a second rock. It is now banging them together.
Maybe it’s not intelligent.

World Servers - Dawn
The year is 2143, and much of the world’s population has been digitized for decades. Different servers are configured for different purposes. Some servers are pure gaming worlds. Others are offshoots of fringe political experimentation or regimes. Still others are based around ethnic or nationalist sentiment. Some replicate past times or past eras. And still others have been designed as totally imaginary locations created out of the dreams of programmers and the Artificial Intelligences that have been used to build and drive them. The gaming guild I Like Big Booty is a loosely affiliated group of friends and avid players. Theirs is an international guild which spans multiple servers, mostly running raids, ganking other players in PVP, and generally trying to build up the funds to purchase their own home world server. On one of the most populous servers – designed to resemble 20th century earth – a small raid team running a boring and routine run in Washington DC, comes across something that might change the fate of Virtual Reality across the solar system. Note: Per request, the title has been changed, though I might change it again when if I come up with something a little better.
