“So what will you do now, Urk?” Looking down at the small Kobold: Mylo couldn’t help but admire the strength behind those eyes. Despite the sadness staring back, there was the strength to move on.

“I’m going to continue to be a policeman. I really like this job. I feel strong.” Clenching their hands: Urk looked down at them with a smile. For once, he was not the weakest. The power to save others. A soft smile fell on Mylo’s features as he moved to give them a pat.

“I’m glad you found a new clan. You should get going to ah...work then.” It was awkward, watching them leave with a human. A part of Mylo desperately wanted to swallow Urk up and ferry him away. Desperate to protect them. But he merely breathed in and then out again. Glancing back toward Enis as he bid her farewell as well.

Stepping out onto the street: he realised there was nothing for him. No tasks, no goals, no one needing his protection. The humans had their system and were already integrating the Munst. But what of him? What did he desire in this eternal life? Looking upward he stared at the towering structures above him.

A dozen, a million lives swirled around him. Absorbed in their own struggles, goals, and quests. But what did he have? With the decades and centuries of time and living. It could easily be said his life was easy to compress into the singular life of a human. A chuckle escaped him, and he moved up to the lookout.

’ A soft laugh left Mylo as he began to realise something. The appearance of Urk had been just the answer to his questions.

‘’ Leaning on the railing, he looked down below at the passing forms below the lookout. It reminded him of...home.

’ Mylo began to laugh as he gripped his head, a brief note of insanity in his voice as he couldn’t help but laugh.

’ Laughing more and more, he turned away from the overlook and leapt into the air. Sailing to the highest peak to stand at the very top.

’ There was a moment of hesitation as Mylo’s cloak flared into shadowy black wings.

“” Turning to look toward the setting sun: Mylo felt a weight on his chest flee with it. He smiled.

“Shut up you stupid dragon! Some of us are TRYING to sleep!” The voice echoed out from a window nearby, and Mylo stopped. A brief and timid croon escaped him before taking into the air and moving to land in his human form. But now as he looked around, there was no curiosity, but peace.

It would take time to build them up, to prove his worth. But Mylo couldn’t help but feel warmed by the magic in the air around him. The smells and scents, once so alien, now felt as familiar as his old cave. Though, there was one issue with his plan of staying in the city.

“I will need somewhere to rest.” Turning his head toward the governmental office, his eyes spotted the figure looking in his direction. They had likely seen his stunt and didn’t understand the significance of it. Or thought he was declaring war.

Moving to step forward, he began to skip through the air toward his destination. Soon booked for a meeting in 30 minutes. Moving to take the stairs instead of the elevator after a...embarrassing mishap with the weight sensor.

“What do you want Mylo,” ever to the point Mary was ready for him. Behind her desk and right by the window.

“I wish to inquire about the deal you mentioned. About the exchange of precious materials in return for this ‘money’? I have determined your city suitable for my new lair, and wish to procure a place to rest.” Bringing his hands together: Mylo procured a coin with a flick of his wrist.

“Mmmhm. Ok so. Inside the city? Can’t do. But we could make you a place outside in that Munst settlement that’s popped up. You procure us say...some platinum gold and diamonds. We’ll build a proper underground shelter for you. With all the human amenities.” Moving to write, a quick list was prepared alongside a set of directions to where he could place the items.

“Very well, I shall do so.” Looking it over, Mylo moved to make for the exit.

“Just dig out the cave where you want it, and we’ll do the rest. Make sure it’s deep and stable enough to be built on.” Moving to her computer, Mary began to make the necessary calls to set it up. Pausing at the door, Mylo glanced back and then nodded.

“Well the entrance will need some leeway, but I can do that.”
