《The Angel System: Outer Heaven》Chapter 10: Floor 71 The Great Labyrinth

Lucius stepped through the Open doors behind Neftali, leading him to a set of stairs, shimmering with light. The stairs were lined in white marble, arranged in the middle of a small passageway. As he made his way up the stairs, he gazed out of the tiny windows on the side, looking out at Outer Heaven from where he was.
“I’m slowly starting to grasp all of this,” he said looking out. “If this was a dream, there is no way it would have lasted this long, I really am in the afterlife.”
It truly was a paradise. The clouds were not white and worn like they were on earth. Each cloud was a giant gold mist of fluffy perfection, somehow sustaining the weight of the great golden city he had flown over from. As he continued up the stairs he wondered how far from the ground he was with this one floor difference. After a good 3 minutes of climbing stairs, he finally came to a set of doors leading him to the next area.
System Message Floor 71 The Great Labyrinth
Lucius came to a labyrinth that forked into eight different paths.
"Screw this I'll just fly over" Lucius said.
"What the?"
As he looked on either side of his wings, he saw that they were purged, frozen in a golden coat.
"So know flying here" He said. "Figures"
As he stood contemplating which he should take, the ground began to rumble.
RUMBLE! RUMBLE! RUMBLE!
“Whats this?”
He wouldn’t have believed it if he hadn’t seen it with his own eyes, but during the time he was standing in place, the labyrinth actually changed from 8 paths to 4.
“First a Giant sphynx and his army of cats, now a Labyrinth that changes directions.”
“Just how much further” Lucius said
“Just how much further” a voice said
“Do I have to go until I see you again”
“Do I have to go until I see you again”
“What, what was that? Was that an echo?” Lucius said. “No, that sounded like a woman's voice?”

On the other side of the Labyrinth wall out of Lucius’s view, a woman was making her way through the maze.
“Darling” She said holding her hand to her heart “No matter what, I will find my way back to you!”
“Ok” Lucius said, walking down one of his selected paths. “Let's just pick one path and go. I can’t figure this out by standing still.”
As he started walking down the path, he heard a cry from behind him.
KAKKAA!!
Lucius turned around and saw nothing behind him. He continued to look around convinced he heard something. After a few moments he gave up.
“Kakkaa!” He heard again
Lucius spun around inspecting his surroundings carefully unsure of how to find the source of the cries. The only thing he did see behind him were a bunch of strange looking scarecrows arranged throughout the maze.
“I could have sworn,” He said scratching edgely looking around. "These scarecrows weren't always here"
Walking forward he rounded the corner, leaving the Scarecrows behind.
KKAAKKAA!!!
Lucius couldn’t believe his eyes, but one of the scarecrows actually started flying towards him swiping at him with its set of razor sharp claws.
“One strike should do it!” He said slicing the bird.
KAAKKAAA!
The bird continued to fly gathering dozens more behind it as it flew.
System Message
Horusks The set of birds that serve the watcher of the 95th floor Horuk. These birds can only be purged by striking them in the eye, an eye that is said that Horuk can see through.
“Damnit so unless I can strike them directly in the eye there's not much I can do, Add in the fact that I can’t fly here and this becomes a real problem!”
“Well… I could always use darkness…”
“Darkness cannot be purged, only destroyed” Neftali said. “The only thing you can do now for this one is to put it out of its misery, please for me, kill this child."
“No, I should only use darkness if I absolutely have to. For now I’ve just gotta run!”

Lucius dashed through the Labyrinth as the horde of horusks followed close behind him.
“Damnit!” He said taking another hit from one of them.
“I just might have to use darkness here” He taught. “If I fail here and return to Eden, I’ll never be able to see her again… Maybe just this time I’ll use it,”
As Lucius came to a dead end, his back was pressed against the wall as a dozen Horusks came flying at him
“Blade of Chaos” He began chanting
In a flash, Lucius saw the horde of Horusks disappear behind a thick set of bushes. The maze was changing shape yet again. As his position changed, he leaned his back against the wall sitting against it.
“That was close,” He said “I almost did something I would have regretted.”
“And what would that have been?” He heard a voice say.
All of a sudden, Lucius felt a great warmth come over him. It was not the warmth of a sun beam or a fire, but the warmth of another person. He could feel their soft hair rubbing against the back of his neck, and the sweet smell of some kind of flower emanating from them.
“Eve… Evelynnn!” He said jumping to his feet.
“Who is Evelynn?” The girl said.
The woman who was standing before him was Evelynn in no way. She was a caramel skinned angel with short black hair and an amazing set of cleavage.
She had nothing on, other than a pair of panties and a battle gauze, that wrapped around her left arm all the way to her chest. Hanging over her shoulders was a large cape, that reached down to her knees, that was parted in the center, showing off her chest.
Lucius was so overwhelmed by this amazing looking woman that he nearly fell backwards. But Keeping his composure he made a gesture towards her.
“It’s the name of my wife” Lucius said “I came here to find my way back to her” He said
“Really?” The black haired girl said. “Then we are the same, I also came here to find my husband, his name is Sampson'' She said
“Were you also reincarnated from earth as an angel?” Lucius said.
“No” She answered. “I was reincarnated in Eden, I worked my way here and recently became an angel, I'm trying to get a halo so I can go to the dominions” She said
“We're exactly the same,” Lucius said, “I'm trying to get there as well. Why don’t we work together as a team?” He said gesturing his hand
“No thanks!” The girl said brushing his hand to the side.
“What? Why not?” He said.
“This is my journey” She said walking away. “These lonely days and harsh memories are something I don’t want to share with anyone else.” She said “No one else but him, he’s the only one who doesn’t let me down.”
“Wait!” Lucius said, “Don’t be so hasty! In this world patience and temperance assure victory! I’ve tried your way and it only results in misery!” He said
“I would rather face misery alone, than paradise with another.” She said. As she spoke the Labrynth began to change again. Slowly moving their places.
Her image began to get blocked by bushes as the Labyrinth shifted again.
“But misery is something no one should face alone!” Lucius said
“Neither is paradise, in either case, it means nothing without the one you love, thats why I choose to be alone, I’m saving those moments for him.”
In moments the girl disappeared.
Kakkka!” Lucius heard in the distance.
“A woman who travels alone, in a place like this?” Lucius said running on the Labyrinth trail.
“How can someone so heartbroken exist here? Isn’t this place supposed to be heaven?”

A Gray and Grey world
What if adventurers are not as they seemed. In the tales of old, adventurers were the ones who vanquished the demons and beasts from the land, the ones who sealed the great evil away, the ones who saved the world from destruction and kept peace within the lands. But, what if that wasn't really what happened? What if adventurers are selfish, narcissicistic, and- depending on who you ask- evil. What if they weren't the paragons of good that their history books show. As they say, it is the victors that write history. In this world, this broken world, the true nature of adventurers will be told, unveiled to the masses. In this world, where history has yet to be written, the true heroes will be shown. Or- at least, that's what should've happened. But then again- heroes, villains-... everything is relative to the one who sees it. Everything changes depending on who's perspective... Perhaps the heroes of this story- may not be the heroes that you might think. Author : Hello everyone! I just want you all to know that this is a first time story. I'm the one who's doing the draft, editing, proofreading and revisioning! I do aim to have a chapter up every week or so, thus I look forward to showing everyone the world I created!Editor : ^ Proof Reader : ^
