Lucius stood onlooking the time froze landscape, utterly amazed. A system message popped up.

In order to gain information on Chaos, you must use it on an enemy!

As he finished reading the message time began to unfreeze and the cat creatures started attacking again.

"So I can only freeze time for a short period it seems" Lucius said dodgeing the attacks from the cats. "But that last cat seems to still be frozen, that must mean it is purged."

“GRAAAA!!!!” The cat creatures cried.

His blade changed back into its dual color as the enemies started to attack. As the creatures flew at him the purged cat still lied frozen in place.

“I see,” He said “If the light side of this blade can freeze time then the dark crimson side must be formidable, just what does the other side of this blade do?!"

As he slashed his way through another enemy with Order, time slowed again.

"Ok, this time I'm going to count the seconds that time is frozen" He said reading the landscape.

After 10 seconds the enemies started attacking again.

"GRAAA!"

"I see" Lucius grinned "I have exactly 10 seconds to attack another enemy, now, lets see if I can chain that time together" He said.

Swiftly cutting through a cat, he made his way to the next 5 seconds afterwards.

After 10 seconds of hittin gthe first cat, time resumed.

"So I can combo the time, but it doesn't add, it just replenishes, so hittin gtwo cats at the same time won't result in 20 seconds of time, it will result in 10, but if in that last second I hit another enemy, the time will be extended another 10 seconds!"

"In that case, defeating the group of enemies will be a breeze"

Flying into the center of the cat angels, he baited them towards him, causing them to group up.

"In this case grouping the angels together is actually to my benefit, I can take you all out at once!"

he comboed the time together.

"Heh, this is actually not hard at all," He said making his way through the enemies.

“If I simply just freeze an enemy with Order, I have 10 seconds to find another and freeze that one! I can chain the time together, giving my enemies 0 time to fight back! If I continue to move like this I can take them all out! This is no different than a videogame,” Lucius said.

“Do you really think it will be as simple as that?” The giant two headed sphinx said.

"Wait! How is he moving?" Lucius thought

“Great fires that scorched the Earth, hear my cry! Fireball!”

The sphinx hurled two giant balls of fire with enchantments written all over them. The fire blast came at Lucius so fast he didn’t have time to think! He raised his blade desperately trying to block the attack.

Booom!

Lucius was blown back from the force of the attack as the hot flames from the fireball scorched his skin.

“Fuck!!!!” He screamed, “This pain! It's real!” He said grabbing his scorched body. "This is nothing like a videogame!" He cried. "I may be able to tolerate a kick or a swipe, but it seems if I get lit on fire, or have a limb cut off, I actually go through that pain!" He cried. "So this is what burning alive feels like! Fuck this hurts!"

“This is no game boy, this is a trial to determine the fate of this realm, did you think there would be no pain involved? How foolish.”

“Damnit! What the hell just happened! Why wasn’t he frozen in time? And why the hell couldn’t I block that attack! And this pain, Is my skin actually burnt! What the hell is going on here!”

“Damnit!” Lucius said lookin gat his flashing HP bar “My Hp doesn’t look to good either! Just what the hell am I supposed to do?”

“This is the chosen?” An angel sitting at the top of the coliseum said laughing to himself. “Arragant little shit didn’t even read the first pages of his Codex before entering the tower. Didn’t even thank our Lord for bringing him here! How the hell does he deserve the greatest Codex! At this rate I don’t even need to kill him, I’ll just let this tower finish him off."

"The fear is pouring out from you, is this the chosen of Outer Heaven?" The Sphinx said.

“This pain is real, these enemies are intelligent, and I have no idea how to use my weapon. There are a bunch of tiny pop ups but unless I freeze time again I can't read them. If I don’t figure something out soon I’m in trouble, and that big guy in the back isn’t going to let me… I ran in here, desperate to get Evelynn back, so desperate to get Lucas back, that I didn’t even think about the world I was in… I just ran headfirst arrogantly like I always do. Isn’t this supposed to be a new life? Aren’t I supposed to be learning from my previous one!”

"Whats the point of playing catch? We should spend out time playing our musical instruments or learning a new skill! Leasure activities like that won't do anything for you Lucas! We are geniuses! We don;t have time to play catch!"

“Thats it,” Lucius said. "I'm not going to be cocky this time, in my past life, alll it did was cause me to overlook things that resulted in losing in the most important things I loved. In this new life I'm going to do things differently. I won't let my arragance cloud my judgement!"
