5 years have passed and the war is beginning to slow down, the early successes on both sides are grinding down as they have both been getting used to the tactics of both sides. Reinlas currently is out fighting in one of the large scale battles though he is not confident of the outcome. Linra is in Reinholm taking care of Jorankra and dealing with other matters along with her children. A guard walks to the garden where Linra is with Jorankra.

"Queen Linra, I bring news from northern Geirlanth" The guard says

"Is something wrong?" Linra asks concerned

"Villages up there have been attacked, there are conflicting reports on who the attackers were from Keireen soldiers to dragons" The guard says

"This is troubling, I will send people to go check on the northern villages. Thank you for informing me" Linra says

The guard nods, bows and leaves. Linra pets Jorankra who is still the same size she was 5 years ago.

"Seems there is trouble brewing Jorankra" Linra says

Jorankra rubs her head against Linras chin and flairs her wings.

"It alright, I know who to send" Linra says

Jorankra wraps her wings around herself.

"Liara, Farenisle I want you two to come to me right now, I have a mission for you" Linra telepathically says

Liara and Farenisle teleport to her quickly and Liara also quickly pets Jorankra who unwraps her wings and flies up onto Liaras shoulder.

"Cute" Liara says with a smile

"Yeah, whats the mission mother?" Farenisle asks

"Some of the northern villages have been attacked, we dont know exactly whats attacked them as some report soldiers and others dragons." Linra says

"Thats not good" Liara says

"Indeed, take some soldiers with you and find out what happened. My current worrying theory in my head is that Keireens gotten some dragons under his control, while I wouldn't put it past him I doubt it" Linra says

Liara levitates Jorankra to Linra.

"We will find out what happened to those villages. Hopefully bring their families some peace" Farenisle says

"Then go and quickly before another falls victim to whoever is truly behind it" Linra says

Farenisle and Liara nod and walk away and to one of the nearby guard rooms taking some guards with them and then they teleport to a northern village with them. As they arrive they see burning buildings and charred corpses even with the snowfall its heat radiates past the coldness of the north.

"Fan out, search around the village!" Farenisle shouts and the guards do so

Liara and Farenisle walk further into the village and look around. There are many footprints in the snow, some seem to have been armoured but then there are bigger footprints not that of Immortalai but a dragon.

"Right now mothers theory seems to be right, Its worrying" Farenisle says

"Indeed" Liara says

Liara looks around at some of the bodies and notices that some are much smaller.

"By the first, some of those killed were children" Liara says with a sad voice

"It seems so, the bastards will pay for this" Farenisle says

As Farenisle and Liara as well as their guards keep looking around the village some Keireen soldiers lay in wait in the houses that weren't too damaged. They are using magic on eachother to hide themselves better and make their magic harder to detect. Farenisle and Liara walk into the centre of the village and the guards walk over to them.

"What did you all find?" Farenisle asks

"Not much, except for some more footpr-" The guard gets cut off as an arrow pierces through his helmet and through his head coming out his eye

"No!" Farenisle shouts as he gets infront of the other gaurds and puts up ice walls around everyone while Liara sits in shock but she quickly composes herself as best she can

Liara kneels down to the dead guard who clings onto the tiniest shred of life he has left and Liara takes his hand using calming magic on him as he slips away from life. Farenisle senses the man die and in his own anger he uses hsi magic to send his ice walls hurtling into the nearby buildings in an attempt to kill the soldiers, not all are taken out and keep firing arrows that them. Farenisle speeds towards those soldiers drawing his blade and he slashes upwards which slices completely through one of the soldiers because of his speed. The guards Liara and Farenisle brought along quickly put up their shields and use their magic to fire on the enemy, Liara meanwhile closes the eyes of the dead guard.

"Immobilise dont kill" Liara says to the guards in a soft voice

Farenisle meanwhile doesnt keep up with the same thoughts of hsi sister as he freezes one enemy soldiers legs and then crushes the ice takign the soldiers legs and puts up an ice spike where the soldiers head will land when he crashes down. When the soldier falls his head immediately get pierced. The guards quickly immobilise the other soldiers. Liara gets up and walks over to Farenisle and puts her hand on his shoulder.

"Calm down Farenisle, dont forget most of them dont even want to fight for Keireen but have to" Liara says

Farenisle sighs and drops to his knees.

"I-I know just everytime we lose someone it hurts even more. They took our uncle Liara and we never met him yet the names he imagined for us are the ones we have, we were robbed of a full family and the friends I've lost too..." Farenisle says with a soft tone

"I know, I understand but we cant let our anger get that much of a hold on us, we have to keep caring for those that are alive above all even those on the enemy side" Liara says as she kneels down and hugs him

"Because they also have family and friends they have lost" Liara says

Farenisle nods and gets up, Liara lets go of him. Liara levitates all the corpses of the Keireen soldiers over to them and lays them in a line on the ground. Liara then teleports them to a place for burial. Farenisle walks over to the guard that was shot to death and teleports his body to Renamerima Castle where he deserves to be taken care of. Liara walks over.

"At least we know Keireen did have a hand in the villages destruction, but there were still dragon tracks" Liara says

"Read the minds of the Keireen soldiers, it should reveal more information" Farenisle says

"Good idea" Liara says as she looks at one of the living and unconcious soldiers and she reads his mind

Images of one of the other northern city fill her mind, the soldier as well as the others raided the village as their mission is to destroy northern villages and then build something in that territory but as they destroyed the first village loose arrows and stray magical attacks caused a small avalanche but it caused an ice dragon to attack everyone in the first village. The Keireen soldiers then adopted the tactic of angering nearby dragons to attack for them. Liara looks at Farenisle.

"Seems mothers theory wasnt exactly right nor wrong" Liara says

"How so?" Farenisle asks

"They angered nearby dragons to help attack the villages" Liara said

"Annoyingly smart though dangerous for them as well as well" Farenisle says

"I'm wondering, if we managed to talk with one we could ask about what is going on with Jorankra" Liara says

"You want to risk that?" Farenisle asks concerned

"Well we all do want to know what is going on with her, she hasn't grown at all in 5 years and while he isnt a dragon per se syremai is the closest thing we have at the ready for biological questions on those like dragons but apparently even by now Tykema will have stopped being like a baby dragon and become bipedal to what they are now" Liara says

"True, fine lets risk it we need to know if somethings wrong with her" Farenisle says

Liara nods and looks at the guards.

"Go search the other villages that were destroyed in case there are more Keireen soldiers then check ones that we are sure havent been attacked" Liara says

The guards nod and teleport away. Liara flies up quickly followed by Farenisle.

"Any idea where oen of the dragons will be?" Farenisle asks

"Loosely but there is the chance of them having moved given the attack on them" Liara says

"Right, well regardless lead the way" Farenisle says

Liara flies up to the snow covered mountains and start scanning around as they fly. They find many animals and even see a few griffins in the distance but they arent what they have come for so they keep searching. Some snow behind them moves by they dont think about it until they get hit with frost breath from behind the snow as a dragon bursts out of the snow. The dragon is easily as big as a house with snow white scales, Liara and Farenisle use shapeshifting on their ears and voice box to speak and understand a dragons language.

"Wait! We dont want to hurt you!" Liara shouts

"I don't believe you, after your people have attacked my kind for many years I'd be surprised if any believed you" The dragon shouts as it unleashes its frost breath at them again

Farenisle puts up an ice wall blocking the frost breath.

"We mean it! We just have a question!" Farenisle shouts

"I was attacked by your people a few days ago and you expect me to answer?" The dragon shouts as it dive bombs the ice wall breaking through it and landing on Farenisle and Liara severly hurting them makign them let out screams of pain as the dragon flies up with them in its grasp

Farenisle conjures ropes that tie up the dragons wings together causing it to roar in surprise as it crashes to the ground. Farenisle and Liara quickly heal up and get out of the dragons grasp and walk to the dragons face.

"Are you alright? That didnt hurt you did it?" Liara asks concerned

"Why ask? You'll just kill me" The dragon says

"We said it before, we werent here to harm you, the ones that attacked you attack our very people and used you and others to attack us" Farenisle says

"I still dont believe you, I will be watching to see if you speak true but please if you dont intend to kill me, free me" The dragon says

Farenisle de-conjures the ropes around the dragons wings and the dragon gets up.

"You had a question?" The dragon asks

"For the last 5 years our family, mainly our mother, has been taking care of a baby dragon. We noticed that she hadnt grown over the last 5 years and wondered if something was wrong with her" Liara says

"Describe her scales" The dragon says seriously

"Mostly red but with soem greyed out different coloured ones across her body" Liara says

"Then she is a rare one of my kind, able to use all the kinds of magic one of my kind can use but she must master fire first then she will grow and can use the next this process can take billions of years and its why there are so few, they are vulnerable at baby size unless their parent is around most reside on the other side of the world trapped because if they try to leave they become targeted and killed" The dragon says

"Is there a name for these dragons?" Farenisle asks

"Survivors and nothing more, they are greatly revered by our kind because of their abilities, harm her and you will regret it" The dragon says as it roars and and flies away

"Well then. This is unexpected" Liara says

"No kidding" Farenisle says as he teleports home with Liara to reveal what they have learned of Jorankra and the villages while over in Keireens kingdom laughter and almost demonic screams come from the castles dungeons....
