Chapter 1: Gary ‘n God

"You have died, young one". Said a voice that was ancient yet still had power within their words. It was a strange voice to hear but it didn't cause panic or Alarm. Gary was calm as there was nothing to be afraid of.

Gary slowly opened his eyes, only to see space all encompassed in white, fortunately it wasn't blinding. It did not hurt, it didn't even feel pleasant...he was numb. Gary could no longer feel anything.

"I...died?" Gary asked out of disbelief to himself more than answering the voice.

"Yes, but rejoice for it is not over for you yet, yes my child... I speak of reincar-"

"ISEKAI?!!". Gary shouted out now filled with excitement, ignoring the trauma over his sudden death.

"Ha ha, thought you might like that. Yes and I will be sending you to a world with magic, swords, skills and diverse people." God replied amused by the young man's actions.

Gary was a 23 year old man, barely out of uni and into the harsh world, he was a man with a long life of potential, potential that was snatched away by the tight grip of death.

"Now , please choose your ability wisely. This will help you in your survival and prevent another early death."

'Freakin awesome!' Gary thought.

A large book appeared out of thin air and floated in front of Gary. The title written in gold "THE BIG BOOK OF SKILLS ''.

Gary eagerly flicked through the books pages, he knew EXACTLY what he was looking for. But, I decided it was a good idea to check the other options. As he might find something even better for his skill or at least get a good idea for what's to expect.

"Dragon "O" Fy." [ Transform into a dragon and back again].

"Absorb" [ eat others to absorb their skills.]

"Time travel" [travel through time]

"God 'o' Fy" [Become a GOD]

"Power of Love" [Magic of harem, no gender bias ;) ].

'Alright, I know these look good and even amazing! But they're too good, they spell trouble. Dragons are cool and all, but imagine trying to hide that from either dragons or humans, could get political real quick.'

‘[Absorb] would need secondary skills to make it worth while, do you know how hard it is to eat a whole person? No? Well neither do I and I don't want to find out! ‘

[Time travel], there's never been a happy ending with that, it's always a struggle against fate. Become a god? Yeah that's not fishy at all, and [love]? Ha don't make this loner laugh'.

Closing the book, Gary stands tall and speaks confidently to the void of white.

" I choose the ability [Clone]."

"You're sure?" asked the White Void.

"Yep! Thankyou for the gift, please send me to my new life". Replied Gary.

"Ha ha, it was a pleasure meeting you child. Goodluck." Said God, his voice fading out.

Then Gary felt it, a tug on his soul , pulling him forward. It was mild at first but soon ramped up, enough to drag him like a rag doll at increasing velocity. "AAAAGHH!!"

Gary was going light speed! No, he was going isekai speed and his destination? The world of OLOP.
