《The Dark Times》Article 22 - Lamplight Tours

Tired of being hunted every weekend the ghosts of Candleshoe Hall have moved out of the building en-masse and booked a lamplight tour of Europe.
Lord Rupert, spokes-ghost for the spectres said, “Every weekend! Ghosthunters descend on the hall and we can never get a simple haunting done. They go around murmuring all the time, ‘Are you there? Speak to us! Knock three times,’ and poking their noses and lights into every corner. If we wanted to speak to them, we would, and more than half the time if we do speak to them, they’re ruddy deaf. We had enough of the noise and disruption and took a vote to go on strike and then decided to use the down time to take a group vacation.”
The twenty-entity lamp (ghost bus) will be taking the seventeen ghosts in padded luxury across to France where they will take in the Pere Lachaise cemetery, the Paris catacombs, the Chateau de Versailles, Mortemer Seine-Maritime before continuing on to Switzerland where they will visit the Cheze Leyland and the Refuge de Cuarnens. After that they will continue on to Germany, the Netherlands, and lastly Belgium before returning in six months to Candleshoe Hall. It is hoped by then that the ghost hunters will have been disappointed enough for their popularity to have died down.
When asked if they were looking forward to the tour, Lady Violet stated that she had relations in the finest part of the Pere Lachaise cemetery and was looking forward to visiting and catching up on family events with the European side of the family.
Some of the younger members were just excited to be going abroad, while Henry, the gardener and the wild coachmen are looking forward to the Paris catacombs. As a spade enthusiast, Henry wants to study how they were dug, while Willy and Dicky, the wild coachmen can’t wait to join in the revenant parties that are held there.

Madame Hortencia is looking forward to admiring the grandeur of the Chateau de Versailles, (Some members have privately suggested, this so she can boast that she’s visited royalty) while Maybelle the scullery maid will be taking the time to sketch the fine architecture.
The group leaves on the next full moon. We wish them well.

8 59Moonshot
Gregarious businessman Evin Tumble is fascinated by the sudden and inexplicable appearance of a low-orbiting moon. Specifically, he's interested in shooting it down with a giant cannon. The moon is only about eight miles overhead, but it's high enough and quick enough that nobody can reach it by balloon or airship. He hires our protagonists: taciturn Iseult Morrin, cheerful Sean Whelan, and nervous Íde Ceallaigh, to help him with his obsession. As our heroes are dispersed across the continent to perform tasks for Tumble, and the moon-hunt draws closer, they become increasingly suspicious of their benefactor's motives and true nature. Moonshot is a story centred around struggling with confidence, the difficulty of being an immigrant, and the duality of truth, all clad in the trappings of an urban fantasy. It is character-driven, from the heart, and based on tropes and ideas that are missing from a lot of contemporary fantasy (a push beyond the flawless-yet-somehow-still-needs-rescuing-by-an-oafish-man heroine trope, a touch of cosmic magic based on the shared geometries of Celtic and Arab art).
