《Demon King Reincarnated as the Hero's Child》Chapter 3: Three (1)

Yes, I’ll have a good life smooching off my father’s Heroness.
Even though I wouldn’t gain my revenge, a long-lived life of no work and all play is, of course, better.
—Or so I thought.
“F*ck this! Why in h*ll am I so ugly!?” screamed me as I was looking in the mirror.
Of course, this was only in my head as a three-year-old child yelling such profound reverse-blesses—I mean curses—would surely raise suspicions on me.
Even if I wanted to live a peaceful life off my current father, this face stopped all ambitions of that sort. I'd have to invent plastic surgery, or another solution, before i could have that nice rich life.
It wasn’t as if I was deformed or there was something strange about my face. Nor was it some kind of fixed expression or a permanent goofy face. My face just excluded a charm—a charm that endlessly repulsed people, including me.
Unable to bear looking at my nauseating face anymore, I quickly found my pure-black mask and wore it.
In the last few years, a fact has become clearly apparent.
I was reverse-blessed.
No, reverse-bless is clearly too good for this horrible curse.
I was cursed terribly.
It’s impossible for such a revolting appearance to appear normally.
Also, I’m clearly weak. My half-sister, several months younger than me, beat me up for candy. I was beaten up by a two-year-old…
Then again, I was stealing her candy everyday for a couple of months before the incident. I may or may not have deserved it…
What?
Candy is tasty! The Demon World doesn’t have any sweets at all!
Okay, back on topic.
The last article of the curse, to be forever stupid, is obviously not here.
I’m a genius… I think.
Well, my body is “special” due to the reincarnation. Normally, cognitive functions are carried out in the brain, which is where the reverse-blessing targets, but as my brain shouldn’t be developed enough to handle the complex thoughts and the five-decade worth of memories that I have, my soul most likely handles both functions. Souls are proven to be able to act similarly to a brain, for intelligent spirits, ghosts, and wraiths exist and they don’t have a physical body, let alone a brain. So, my theory should be correct… probably.

I’m smart, right?
I suddenly don’t want to continue on this trail of thought.
Then, shall I go back to reality?
At around this time, I have aura training. “Aura” is one of the three energies used for battle, with “divine power” and “demonica” being the other two. It doesn’t really sound complicated, and it really isn’t. “Aura” is used for human, and every other non-demon species’, warriors to do things, like running faster, hitting with more power, and flying, among other things. “Divine power” is quite obvious; it’s used by believers of various deities to do things, like bless others or deal divine punishment. It’s called “divine punishment” by the priests that use it, but most other people call it “magic.” Last but certainly most superior, we have the amazing and versatile “demonica.” Its only users can be demons and other “evil” creatures, but it does the same thing as aura and divine power, plus some.
“Young Master, it’s time for your daily aura training.”
With those soft-spoken words, a pretty, black-haired maid entered. Her name is Xiru. (Pronounced Shi-Ru)
She’s a good maid. It’s not just because of her big objects-of-all-men’s-desire, but she’s a truly nice and good maid that cares. But it’s mainly about her big boobs, yeah.
Xiru is also my personal maid, and she will likely be in that position for life. Of course, as she has the bloodline of dragons (rare but not that uncommon), she may live longer than I will even though she’s fifteen years older than me.
I was guided by her out of the house.
When I stepped out, the warmth of the late-morning sun fell on my small self, and a wooden bridge spread before my eyes.
This wasn’t a normal, one-way bridge, rather, it was flat, had a triangular roof overhead (to prevent rain floods and to provide shade in the midday sun) and had many intersections with bridges of the same style in crisscrossing grids. This system of bridges provided access to all of the Hero’s residence, a cluster of buildings built over the water.

Along the bridge, there were countless butlers and maids scampering around. I heard an esteemed guest from the Li Church was over.
Guided by Xiru through the bustling bridge, I walked towards our destination.
It was a fair ways off, at almost a kilometer away, but I luckily didn't crash into anyone.
*
Grand Aura Pavilion.
If you’re thinking that “grand” in the name makes it grand, you’re sadly wrong.
Of the Hero’s residence’s buildings, this might be one of the simplest.
It had the normal red exterior and normal conical roof, but it lacked the normal roof and building decorations, with only a wood sign, painted with the characters, “大氣亭.”
Inside was even more pitiful. All there was inside was—nothing.
It was a barren, empty building with a single room. Even the walls had no décor and color.
All one could see of the room was bland, grey stone.
As I was being pulled into the pavilion, I saw a man sitting in the middle, sitting with crossed legs.
He’s elderly, but warmhearted. The former teacher of my current father back when he was weak and knew nothing of aura.
Also, he’s the person in charge of teaching all my half-brothers and sisters, including me.
If this was a novel, and one of us were a Main Character, he’d be the one to die in the hands of the villain first. Shimin, the name of the old teacher, was the exact kind-hearted old man that a reader couldn’t dislike.
This isn’t a novel, and my half-siblings and I aren’t any sort of Main Character, which is good as I liked him myself.
It could be attributed to the fact that he gave me candy, but, this time, it’s actually because he’s a really good person—wait, isn’t the only reason I think of him as a nice person the fact that he gives me candy?
Ummm…
Do I like the three people I like the most in this incarnation simply because they have large chests and/or give me candy?
Oh sh!t.
It’s true…
Well, this guy gives me candy, so he’s a good person, and I like him. Got a problem with that? No? Good.
It seems that if a child uses more aura or divine power in their early childhood, they’ll have an easier time with it in adulthood.
Therefore, I have to train in both aura and divine power even if I’m only three.
Incidentally, the Demon World didn’t have such a system.
For the training, I have to copy what the old man does, then the old man will put his hands on my back and do something.
I have no clue what he does since I’m unfamiliar with aura. If it was demonica, it’d be easy as pie.
Half of the time, I’m made to sit cross-legged. The other half of the time, he makes certain movements.
The moves that the old man does are simple. After all, I’m only three.
But, it’s really hard to describe the movements. Basically, I perform a kind of gentle-style martial arts. It doesn’t use much force or strength, but after some analysis of the moves, it’s a simple but good style that can easily defend against stronger foes’ attacks by redirecting the force instead of blocking it.
I guess my current father wants the moves to be imprinted in my muscles?
Still, teaching martial arts to toddlers…
Even though you’re the Hero, is this not a bit much?
Well, no matter of his intentions, I still did the training, and I was released after a few hours.

The Forgotten Hero
Long ago, in the world of Thyne, the Alliance of the Free Races, a name they had given themselves, summoned a hundred humans from another dimension. Praised as heroes by the people, they rejoiced that they had been able to acquire pure, mana deficient humans that wanted to aid them in their time of need, ignoring the black, archaic slave collars around their necks or the depressed, almost hate-filled expressions that they received when interacting with them. After Ten years of bloody war, the dark races were pushed back deep into their territories. Both sides were near breaking point and desperate to end the war once and for all. In a bargain, the twelve surviving heroes launched a high-risk mission, utilising advanced tactics from their home world to kill the Demon Lord. In exchange, they would be sent home, along with the magically preserved corpses of their comrades, though in truth, they knew that even if they returned, they would never be the same. Legends say that, upon ambushing the Demon Lord in his castle, they finally understood the plight of the world, and in the last act of heroism, sacrificed their lives, sealing him in an eternal prison so his essence would not be able to create another. With the loss of the Demon Lord, and no chance for another to be born, the dark races quickly surrendered and the free races celebrated, honouring the noble sacrifice of the heroes before quickly forgetting about them as they returned to their everyday lives. However, legends are rarely truthful, embellished by the victors in order to earn praise as well as hide the less desirable aspects of their deeds. Trapped in the Demon Lord's throne room inside the Demonic Palace, which even taking a single step on its desecrated grounds is punished by death, two figures remain motionless. They had long run out of insults and threats to trade and now they waited. For what, not even the Gods knew.
