I woke up earlier than I anticipated.

As I walked out, the sky had a dark blue colour, and the morning air felt fresh and cool, it felt fucking exhilarating.

The farmer however was already cleaning some things in the barn, rather than bother to say good morning, I left on my way to the town.

. . .

Upon my arrival to the town, I could see people setting up stalls and others just moving around, I did see a few uniformed guards, and the humid air made a bit of a fog.

I walked into the blacksmith's shop and noticed that he was putting up some items for viewing.

He turned around to look at me and turned his head back.

"Good morning"

"Good morning Gerhest"

"Just wait there for a bit."

I responded with a simple "ok" while I watched him go inside and come back out quickly with a leather apron.

"Now, this is going to be your uniform starting today, first we'll begin with hauling a few things, follow me"

Gerhest walked into the back as I followed, there was a door that lead to an ally around the back and he stood waiting for me outside.

"Over here is the pile of firewood, now I usually go out to chop wood in the evenings but since you're coming to work, I decided to take the rest of yesterday off and left this work for you.

All you need to do is take that hachet and go get some wood. I'll leave it to you to figure out how to get wood on your own, but I will say this small piece of advice, Hack at it to where you want it to fall yeah? Now get to work"

After he finished, he walked inside leaving me to do what he said.

I waited for a second before I grabbed the hatchet and headed towards the closest tree.

. . . . . .

I figured this was going to be hard, but this wasn't as hard as I thought, I was even more then what I had expected. I had been hacking away at the same tree for about 1 hour already and I'm only halfway there.

The tree was like any regular tree, it was no different from the ones back on earth.

I wondered if it was because I was weak in terms of strength... Now that I think about it maybe It has to do with my status.

I knew I was in denial most of the time because I just couldn't believe it, but seeing as how things look to be related to a game, maybe this game system thing could have something to do with my current body.

I didn't believe it before because it just doesn't seem real to me.

Even so, I was wrong, or rather, I'm beginning to believe that I am wrong.

"haah... What are you doing?" I asked in annoyance.

'Status' (A/N: I have no clue how to fix the large space between the Giant box and the word so deal with it.)

Status Name: Arvis Yorvell Level: 1 Titles None - Health: 100 / 100 Health Regen: 0.005 / Sec Magic: 100 / 100 Mana Regen: 0.05 / Sec Stamina: 100 / 100 Stamina Regen: 0.5 / Sec - Strength: 9 Agility: 7 Vitality: 11 Intelligence: 16 Wisdom: 6 Leadership: 0 Luck: 0 - Attack: 5 Defense: 5 Skills:

Code Implementer

I have come to slowly believe it has something to do with my strength.

Now the only question would be, "How to increase it?". I thought about this shit for a while, I thought doing push ups, sit ups, or anything that could increase the physical aspect of a person would help.

What I also noticed was I had something called a "Class". I knew this term well since when I was back on earth this was part of the system I had to make.

The class system, a system that bases the skills or capabilities on the character class one chooses, and as the said character or person improves his skills the class increases it's proficiency... I think.

I wasn't sure if this system, or whatever it could be, was similar to a game. Sure it does have properties similar to that of a game like what Kyle had said, but

how can I be so sure everything is exactly like a game?

Everything should have a rule, and I needed to know what the rule is.

I know I had to work, but I'll just rest for a bit since I have a bit of free time.

I sat down and started to think for a bit.

So first would be the ideal thing of it having to do with my body, I wanted to test this out. I took a small sharp thin piece of wood and held it tightly.

If I get hurt, then I'm sure that my hp would lower, if it doesn't then it has nothing to do with me. I can't be too ignorant this time, I may have thought I was right, but I was wrong about most things.

If I don't want to be fucking wrong like I was last time, then I better start giving a shit.

With a resolute smirk I jabbed the splinter in my palm, I can't say I did it with a straight face. It did hurt, but it hurt like stubbing your toe on the corner of your furniture.

You have hurt yourself!! -3 Hp

Yep, there's proof.

Okay so now that I know that this is most obviously-

"Arvis! I need more wood! Hurry it up over there!"

Suprised by the sudden shout, I turned my head to look at Gerhest with his arms crossed.

Quickly I started hacking away at the tree in front of me.

'I think I should carry on with this when I have free time' I thought.

Of course, things don't always go my way, but that doesn't mean I won't follow what I feel.

. . . . . . . . .

It took me a while to finish chopping the tree until it fell down, sawing the tree, then hacking it into small pieces of firewood.

I got the hang of it after doing it a couple of times, and right after I finished the last bit Gerhest told me that it was time for a break.

We had lunch together, and what we ate was a pot of Molvest soup. I have no idea what kind of soup it was, but it tasted like salted tomato soup with pineapple. It was odd but I still enjoyed it.

While I was eating though I had gotten curious about something.

"U-um, I know this is kind of sudden, but who is Roulatho?" At my sudden question Gerhest made a complicated expression.

He took a moment to swallow what he had in his mouth.

"He's my son"

He didn't give much info, but that was fine I guess.

"Did your son own this shop?"

"No, he never was able to live up to it... Although he really did want to be a strong blacksmith like I was, but.... He wasn't given a chance"

... I could tell by the way he spoke and the cold expression on his face that his son was... Yeah.

"I see...I'm sure he would be happy though, with this shop"

Gerhast gave me an odd look, but then he nodded, and smiled slightly.

"He would have"

I'm sure that his son would have loved this place, maybe if he was still around, then he would have probably managed it with his father.

"Well then, lets get back to work"

I nodded as I gave a resolute smile.

. . . . . . . . . . .

After the next few minutes instead of chopping up more wood Gerhest told me that it was enough and decided I would help him with the smithy. It was way harder, repeatedly lifting and pushing down the bellows for the air to heat up the coal in the smithy, and as I tried my hardest (which I barely ever do) he was satisfied with how I could keep up, but the work almost made me pass out from the exhastion caused by the heat and how much I had to move.

I also got to sharpen some blades that he finished smithing. Sharpening is probably the easiest part of doing it, yet even sharpening is hard. I had some setbacks with him teaching me a bit about how to place the blade and how fast I had to pedal for the whetstone to sharpen it. Eventually though I got better at it.

After the sun was starting to set, I got out of my work clothes and left to go back to the farmer's house to help .

. . . . . . . . . . .

"My arms feel like jelly" Of course the tired one was me.

"Jelly? What´s that?"

If Laj doesn't know what it is then I'm sure that most other people don't know either.

I explained to him about it quickly and we sat down as it was night. Laj made a small fire and continued from what we were talking about last night.

First he started off with the most known legend of all, Valus and the 3 kingdoms.

It was said that it all began 300 centuries ago, where near the Demon continent was a small island that was known to be "Laos". At the time there was a boy that had appeared to have come from there as he was washed ashore from the sea on a poorly made raft. They said that this boy beared power unlike any other person. This boy was named Valus.

Valus was a smart kid despite his young age, and many people doubted his abnormal abilities, they called him a fraud, or a demon.

As many people took his kindness for granted, he set out to the 3 existing kingdoms within Dasthiem and Rosevald, another continent near Dastheim. His power lead him to many different adventures, from Savin people from a famine, to exposing the lies of the ludicrous "Holy Guards of Colraster", which was supposedly a religious union of priests and knights that have commited vile acts of slavery and public manipulation.

Upon meeting the first king Helstor of the Fauster kingdom, he asked for the gem of the city, "The Spinel of Wind".

These gems are special, in a sense the power that each gem has is enough to wipe out a whole city as well as protect it. And each kingdom had at least 1 or two, but what Valus needed were only 3, and with these 3 gemstones he had the power to either wipe out a whole continent or completely encase one. As he also ventured to the other 2 kingoms, he was able to attain the other two, "The Citrine of Fire" And "The Zircon of earth".

As he promised to them his protection for the Gemstones, he cast a barrier that stopped demons from passing through the boarder between this place and the demon continent. Ever since then, not many demons were seen here, but somehow monsters and demons still roam around this continent. Apart from the fact that he casted the barrier, many of the people that witnessed him saw that he had vanished with a light as the Gemstones dissapeared with him.

Yet about the demons that still roamed around, no one could figure out why but in the end they accepted that there weren't many demons so farmers didn't have much of a problem.

Sometimes incredibly strong demons appear only to be slain by the best heroes of the continent.

However, there was the time when Scarothus came and opened that barrier, many demons flooded into Dastheim, but sooner or later someone had taken care of him and the barrier had closed itself within time.

There isn't anyone who doens't know this story on this continent, it is practically a historic event to the people here.

This sounded like a story that I would probably tell my kid if I had one, now you know why everyone knows this story... Get it? hehehe.

After Laj had finished, it was too late to go on, so he and I decided it was best we hit the hay and head to sleep.

Such a day, such a feeling.... My muscles still feel sore.
