《Decoder;Deconstructor》Chapter 4: Believable

I pushed open the doors of the building, and I was pretty amazed at the way things looked.
It wasn't your luxurious hightime kind of shit, but it had a comfortable feeling. The Floor had a red rug on top of a wooden decked floor, the walls had been carefully made with lots of wooden decking, just like the floor. They also had sofas for people to lounge on.
I took note that this place was some sort of questing place for those "adventurers" clad in armoured clothing. Although it was suprising to see it, I saw a group of 3 people that were wearing clothing similar to earths.
My best guess is that those people were just like me, so I approached them first as they seemed to be in their own business.
I walked towards them I noticed them give me a mean stare, of course I would just fucking glare back at this bastard, but I intended to play it cool most of the time.
"Hello" One of them normally greeted me without expecting anything from me.
"Hi, are you guys having any trouble with anything?" I asked, I acted like I was part of this place since I looked like a farmer with the clothing that I was wearing.
"No, we're fine, just that we have to wait for a short bit while the lady at the desk counter comes back with something" I guess they were dealing with business that had to do with this place.
"I see, um.. Pen pineapple apple pen, if you know what I mean" After saying this well known phrase, I could see the widened eyed individuals that stood before me. Who wouldn't fucking know that nowadays?
A few seconds passed before one of the individuals broke the silence.
"How do you know those words?" ??
"It's because I'm just like you guys, just because I look like people from here, you were all fooled rather easily." All 3 looked at eachother and then back to me.
"That's great! Hey, how about we exchange information about this place? I'm sure we can both benefit with that if its not too much of your time?"
I crossed my arms and thought about this, the information that the god provided was enough for us to live on, apart from that theres still some things that I have doubts of, for example: magic, and the idea that the "Status" thing I haven't even considered trying.
I kept my thoughts in place, there was also additional information that the farmer told me. He mentioned a "demon continent", aside from that he also explained a bit as the night had come that day.
He told me that not many people come from the demon continent, and the only thing there are demons, monsters, and many other unique demi-humans that he called them.
I guess I have my small share of partially important information.
And so, I agreed.
"alright, and by the way, my name is Arvis" I'm not messing up like last time and forgetting to introduce myself.
"Nice to meet you arvis, I'm Marcus. This is Kyle, and she's Jane" He introduced me to the other 2 beside him, Kyle was a blond haired guy, Jane looking like she owned a clinic with that white coat she wore, and lastly Marcus which was the one leading, a tall looking guy.

"Greetings all of you, now, you guys mind telling me how you got here for starters?" I quickly initiated the information gathering.
"Alright, but I don't think we should talk here though, I think a more secluded area would be best." He was right about the not talking here, damn, even he thinks more vividly.
I nodded in agreement to that idea, and thus we left the building and went to a nearby alley that wasn't far from that place.
. . . . . . . (Note: These dots means that time/day or maybe a time skip has happened. you'll know how long it would be by reading the rest.)
?"alright, so lets get through this"
He was very firm about the information thing, I'm sure he wanted connections around the area with people similar to his way of thinking as we lived in a different society.
First, Marcus explained that when he had arrived in the portal, he was laid down at the centre of the town, and somehow, people didn't notice them until afterwards. He had no idea what to do, but soon enough as he started to walk around the area, he encountered Kyle and Jane.
After noting what had happened to them, they decided that it would be best if they stuck together as they didn't know much about where they were.
He said that the details that the god explained were infact all true since I had been in complete denial. They had proof and they were willing to show me something.
"I guess your not much of a believer, are you?" Marcus asked with a smile.
"No, I'm more of a see to believe type of person, rather I have my own views based on certain things, but I did come across something that wasn't supposed to happen, or at least thats what I would say"
Many people think its quite ignorant of me to say so, yet its how I was raised. And I quote "Believe and fight for what you think is right".
Although I know how much I should be believing in certain things as I have legitamately seen them, I can't say that I don't completely doubt the things that could have happened to me.
I simply feel if I start to believe, then maybe I'll begin to change the way I am, I know change is something that always happens, but... I'm afraid of losing what I have left of what my father had left behind.
"I see, well you'll believe after you see this" Saying that he looked at Jane.
The girl nodded, raising her hands and within a few seconds a fucking shard of ice began to form out of thin air.
After seeing this I was sure as hell to believe. As obvious as this should be, I knew deep inside that I believed in the existance of the magic. Still, Its just fucking amazing to see somthing like that.
"Alright, I guess I can't say that I don't believe, it was inevitable. Still, there are other things that demon god said, like the gifts, could this be a part of it?" I asked with my arms crossed.

"Yes, they have to do with talents or professions that we already had, and those without any talent or profession would probably be rare since that god stated that the ability would change into the desire of what the person would want"
After Marcus explained that part, Kyle spoke up.
"Apart from that small detail, then if whatever we were good at doing was turned into our greatest weapon, that probably means our skills can alter depending on how we use it."
"Wait, have you already figured something out about that?" They sounded to be well on point with what they were doing, so I just went ahead and asked.
"Kind of, it's more theoretical than I would think, have any of you ever seen a transparent blue box similar to a game status screen?" Is this for fucking real? I have been in denial because of those fuckers that messed with my fucking life after I had been thrown into this world!
"No, I haven't, have you?" I quickly responded, I was feeling annoyed by the sudden question.
"Well.. Er... Yeah, I have seen it, and I have tested something out that I didn't think about. Now normally when people play these Role-playing games there's usually an interface that holds detailed information regarding you, and it's quite easy to understand but while you guys were talking I somehow brought up what is called the 'Status' menu"
I honestly didn't expect this one to know so much, the gaming comunity seems to have become a bit popular hasn't it?
"How did you do it?" Marcus was the one asking this time. I was about to as well but I was too caught up in my thoughts about it.
"All you have to do is say 'Status' mentally and it'll come out"
Pretty rough for a simple gimmick. If thats all I have to do then I guess it shouldn't be hard. Okay lets try it.
'Status' I waited a few seconds and I heard some sort of sound similar to a doorbell and some shit popped up in front of my face.

... You have got to be kidding me. I can't even.
"If you read the one at the bottom, you can see your class and skill, mines is 'Collecter' " Most likely that it must be because of his talent or his way of using his talent or somthing.
"Mine's 'Card Dealer', and yours Jane?" Marcus's profession is probably something similar to using cards. I could be wrong.
"Uh.. mine is scientist"
After Jane had said her class they all looked at me expecting something, and of course I couldn't just stay silent.
"My class is Code Implementer" I said it impassively.
I had to agree though, this to me was just shit that I didn't expect.
"Now, I think it's best we state what kind of job we had so we can further understand this skill thing"
"Hold on there, we promised we would exchange information, but we never gave any limit to how much or what type of info, and judging by the way we all are I can tell just slightly that this is your first time just as it is mines as well, before we go any further, I won't agree on saying what my profession or talent is"
Funny thing is, my talent IS my profession, so I don't know how it would be for you, but I enjoy what I do.
"I see... very well then, we can put it to a stop, at least from here since your not the only one who doesn't feel it should be right to give that information so willingly" He isn't wrong.
"Other then that, I will tell you all the information that I have learned, or at least whatever I know that is important.
First, I am going to say that this world sounds bigger then it would look. One thing that I've learned is that there exists a demon continent that is said to harbour monsters, demons, and many other types of beings.
Another thing about this place as I'm sure you've noticed, is that they haven't advanced very far in technology, which sickens me. As that fact is prior to most meaning in my life, the magic in this world seems to make up for it"
I laid my back on the alley wall with my arms crossed.
"Thats right, but I wonder if magic is easy or hard to use, don't you?" Marcus sat down on a nearby wooden box.
"I think magic has to do with class rather then if a single individual can use it or not actually" Kyle seemed like he knew most about the specifcs regarding magic and the sort.
"That's most likely the case" I took note of the many things he said. This talk calmed me down albeit having to had been shown wrong about what I thought.
I noticed that the time of the day was starting to pass by quickly, so I thought I should wrap things up by now since I needed to get to the guild.
"The a lot of time seems to have passed by, I think its best I leave now, I don't want to lose anymore time"
"I see... Alright then, we'll be around these parts, probably trying to see what we can do since we can't even get our own plates"
For a second there I thought he was on to something, but I'm sure he means plates as in food or something. Whatever.
"Well alright, if I get any specific information regarding our "special" situation, then I'll come around looking for you guys"
With the last words of the sentance, they nodded and waved as I left the alleyway. I gained important information that I shouldn't have been so fucking ignorant about before.
This time again, I was going to head inside the adventurers guild. They could've at least put a sign with a name or something!

Arenya Azural, a dragon-blooded farmer from a small town in the middle of nowhere, always dreamed of being a great hero, battling demons and monsters as a force of magic and power. Now her dream has a chance to become reality - she's a new student at Ba'al Cedric's Academy of Adventurers, a university for warrriors and heroes to learn to battle against the surprisingly amicable demon armies of the neighboring country in an endless war nobody really remembers the point of by now. She's also a BladeMage - an exceedingly rare and exceedingly difficult dual class that few have ever managed to succeed in, but those who have gain immense power. Arenya has a long road ahead of her, with rival students, duels with demons, and a host of benchmarks she must pass in order to keep her scholarship. Will she make it to level 100 and beyond, or die too many times and be forced to return home, tail (literally) between her legs to a life of farming and dreaming of adventure? BladeMage is a LitRPG with a lighter focus on stats. It features battles, leveling up, giant monsters, a bit of fanservice, and more. [Update: The LitRPG elements are proving themselves relatively unimportant as I continue to write. They may be dropped entirely, in which case I will change the prior chapters as well as update this description.] Content warnings: As a story featuring lots of fighting, there will be blood and death. However, since characters rarely die permanently, this will not be a hyperviolent story with extreme gore for the sake of it. Some sexual content and fanservice may be included, but this should remain firmly at the PG-13 level and there will be no sexual violence of any kind. The Cover: Someone suggested that I should have a dragon girl with a miniskirt on the cover. I can't draw and I don't know who to ask or commission, so a few minutes in the GNU Image Manipulation Program and the masterful cover above was created! Please feel free to use your imagination to see a gorgeous half-dragon with azure hair, wings, and a tail, holding a lightning-infused sword while fighting demons.
